Chapter 330: Chapter 330: Winning People Over with Virtue

”This accident seems to be your fault, doesn’t it?” Ye Xiu frowned as he opened his door and got out. ”I was driving perfectly straight when your car slammed into mine.”

”I fucking honked to tell you to get out of the way! Didn’t you hear me?” the pot-bellied man demanded.

”I had only just heard the horn when you crashed into me. Did you even give me time to move?” Ye Xiu replied calmly.

”I don’t give a damn if you had time to move! I honked, so it’s your fault. Pay up, now!” the pot-bellied man said belligerently.

Seeing this, Qin Qing, Kong Ruoruo, An Dongye, and Chloe got out of the car, furious.

An Dongye swaggered over to the pot-bellied man and said menacingly, ”What’s this? Bullying my little bro because you think he’s an easy target? Looks to me like you’re itching for a beating!”

The pot-bellied man was stunned by the beauty of Qin Qing, Kong Ruoruo, An Dongye, and Chloe. Qin Qing was as cold as ice, beautiful as an exquisitely carved ice sculpture. Kong Ruoruo was pure and vivacious, with a delicate, tender air. An Dongye possessed an imposing beauty, her long, fair legs especially captivating. Chloe was a blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty with an exotic charm.

The pot-bellied man was momentarily dazzled. Four top-tier beauties, each with her own unique appeal.

”Hey, she’s provoking you! Stop gawking,” the skimpily dressed, tattooed girl beside him reminded him with a sharp hint of jealousy.

The pot-bellied man snapped back to reality and said to An Dongye, ”Beauty, this is between him and me. I suggest you stay out of it, or you won’t like the consequences.”

”I’ll slap you!” An Dongye’s fiery temper flared, and she swung a hand at the man’s face.

Ye Xiu intercepted her arm. ”Don’t be so quick to hit people. We should persuade them with virtue.”

”Can virtue really persuade people? Fine, you do it.” An Dongye stepped aside. This ”persuading with virtue” was a skill she had never learned.

Qin Qing, Kong Ruoruo, and Chloe grew curious. Facing a scoundrel like this, they wanted to see how Ye Xiu would use virtue to handle him.

”Sir, I had only just heard your horn when you crashed into me. Can you really blame me for not dodging? Under those circumstances, I didn’t have enough time to react. Therefore, this accident is entirely your fault, and you need to compensate me for the damage to my car,” Ye Xiu said, making an effort to remain calm and reason with the man.

”Holy shit...” The pot-bellied man laughed with rage, poking a finger at Ye Xiu’s chest. ”You little shit, you’re just trying to get out of paying, aren’t you?”

”I have zero responsibility for this accident. You’re the one who should be paying,” Ye Xiu said with a shrug.

”You didn’t fucking move out of my way, and my car ended up like this, yet you still dare say you’re not responsible?” the pot-bellied man’s face flushed with anger. ”Kid, I don’t want to waste my breath on you. Just pay up. I brought my friends here to have fun today. If you ruin my mood, believe me, I’ll fucking kill you.”

”You’re just being unreasonable!” Ye Xiu said, his own anger rising.

”I’m being unreasonable, so what?” The pot-bellied man stepped forward until his stomach pressed against Ye Xiu, and he roared, ”I’ll say it one last time: pay up, or I’ll fuck you up.”

Ye Xiu was furious! He threw a right hook toward the man’s face.

An Dongye quickly ran over to stop him. ”Little bro, didn’t you say we should persuade people with virtue?”

”My fist has a nickname: Virtue,” Ye Xiu said. ”To ’persuade with virtue’ or to ’persuade with a fist’—it’s the same thing.”

As he spoke, his right hook sent the pot-bellied man sprawling to the ground.

An Dongye, Qin Qing, Kong Ruoruo, and Chloe couldn’t help but chuckle. They found his logic completely irrefutable.

”You dare hit me?” the fatso fumed, scrambling to his feet. ”I’m Ma Wei! I’ve been around for years, and no one has ever dared to hit me! I’ll fucking kill you!”

He swung a fist at Ye Xiu’s face.

BANG!

Ye Xiu’s counter was faster, and another punch sent the pot-bellied Ma Wei tumbling to the ground again.

Seeing that Ma Wei was no match for Ye Xiu, the scantily clad, tattooed woman shouted toward the resort’s main gate, ”Quick, come over here! Boss Ma is getting beaten up!”

At her call, four men and four women, all holding weapons, jumped out of two Land Rovers parked outside. The four men ran over, their leader shouting, ”Who the hell has the balls to hit Boss Ma? You got a death wish?”

”Stop wasting your fucking breath! Get him!” Ma Wei yelled, climbing to his feet.

The four men charged, swinging their weapons at Ye Xiu.

THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD!

Ye Xiu met them with four swift kicks, sending all four men flying backward. They hit the ground groaning, unable to get back up.

”Holy shit, he’s that strong?” Ma Wei’s face went pale.

”Still want to fight?” Ye Xiu asked coldly.

”You’re so fucking strong, why the hell would I fight?” Ma Wei cursed as he dropped to his knees. ”Alright, I admit defeat today! My bad! I’m sorry!” he huffed, still trying to sound tough.

Ye Xiu and the women burst out laughing, amused by his belligerence even while kneeling.

Ye Xiu said, ”An apology won’t cut it. You damaged my car, so you need to pay for it.”

”I never said I wouldn’t pay!” Ma Wei yelled at the top of his lungs. ”Name your price! I’ll pay! It’s just money. Boss Ma is so poor, all I have is money!”

What a show-off.

Ye Xiu considered for a moment, then said, ”I don’t have time to get the car fixed. Give me 500,000, and you can take it.”

”How much? Have you gone crazy from poverty? This beat-up Buick business van isn’t even worth 500,000 brand new! This is daylight robbery!” Ma Wei sputtered. Seeing Ye Xiu’s expression darken, he quickly changed his tune. ”Don’t hit me, I’m still kneeling! I’ll pay! I’ll pay, alright?”

”Here, transfer the money to my card!” An Dongye quickly took out her bank card and handed it to Ma Wei. She smiled at Ye Xiu and said, ”Little bro, your card is full and can’t hold another 500,000. I’ll hold onto it for you. Just ask me if you need money.”

”Alright!” Ye Xiu chuckled, not bothering to argue with An Dongye. After all, 500,000 was just pocket change to him; the interest he earned daily was more than that.

Soon, the transfer was complete.

Ma Wei, still muttering curses, asked, ”Can I stand up now?”

Ye Xiu ignored him, signaling to Qin Qing and the others. They turned and started walking toward the golf course.

Just then, a Maserati drove up, the window rolling down. ”Divine Doctor Ye, why are you all walking?” Luo Qianjun asked with a smile.

”Divine Doctor Ye, we meet again!” Jin Lian, sitting in the passenger seat, waved and greeted him.

Ye Xiu was taken aback for a moment. He finally understood how Luo Qianjun had gotten his phone number—Jin Lian must have given it to him.

Just as he was about to answer Luo Qianjun’s question, the pot-bellied Ma Wei came running over breathlessly and asked in astonishment, ”Divine Doctor Ye? Are you the Xuanse Medicine King, Ye Xiu?”

”That’s right,” Ye Xiu nodded. ”Is there a problem?”

”Holy crap, I’ve finally met the big boss in person!” Ma Wei cried out, dropping to his knees again and grabbing Ye Xiu’s leg. ”Big Bro, from now on, you’re my Big Bro! I, Ma Wei, will follow you from this day forward!”
