Medical and Martial God

Chapter 317: Chapter 317: The Fall of the Gun God

”Blood Pill?”

Ye Xiu recognized at a glance that Smith had taken a Blood Pill. He was about to cut Smith down before the Blood Pill’s effects could take hold.

However, just then, a searing pain shot through his left thigh near his pocket. He instinctively looked down and saw the Bloodstone glowing with a fierce red light. It had burned a hole straight through his pocket and tumbled out.

What’s going on?

Ye Xiu crouched down, looking with confusion at the Bloodstone on the ground. It was radiating intense heat and a blood-red light.

This is the core of the Dragon Sparrow Sword. Why is it acting up all of a sudden?

”Ye Xiu...”

Just then, Smith’s low voice, dripping with hatred and killing intent, interrupted Ye Xiu’s thoughts.

Ye Xiu stood up and looked at Smith, who was already back on his feet. He asked in shock, ”This is insane. You took a Blood Pill, so how are you still conscious?”

When Gaelin took a Blood Pill, his eyes had turned completely red and his body was engulfed in a bloody aura. He had become a mindless killing machine. But now, only Smith’s pupils were blood-red. He looked frenzied, but in all other aspects, he seemed no different from a normal person.

How strange. Why did the Blood Pill affect them differently?

”Hm?”

Smith was taken aback for a moment, only then realizing that he was, in fact, still conscious.

That’s not right. The Dragon Lord told me not to take the Blood Pill unless it was my last resort. He said I’d lose my mind. So why am I still so clear-headed?

”HAHAHA...” Smith suddenly burst into an excited laugh. ”I don’t care why I didn’t lose my mind! All I know is that I’ve never felt this strong before. Huang Quan, now is the time for our real final battle!”

With that, he drew the two daggers strapped to his calves and assumed an attack stance.

”Even if you’ve popped some pills, you’re still trash in my eyes,” Ye Xiu said disdainfully.

”Go ahead and gloat. Once you see what I can do now, you’ll be on your knees, crying and begging for mercy.”

Eager to see Huang Quan kneeling and begging, Smith charged toward Ye Xiu at full speed. Then tragedy struck. He ran straight onto Ye Xiu’s Bronze Sword.

He was impaled right through.

”I’ll be damned...”

Smith looked down in disbelief at the Bronze Sword piercing him. Overcome with fury and shock, he spat out a mouthful of blood.

One moment, he was fantasizing about Huang Quan begging for mercy; the next, he had voluntarily run onto his sword. Did I just kill myself?

”The Blood Pill multiplied your speed and strength several times over, but you can’t control your newfound power yet,” Ye Xiu said with a faint laugh as he pulled out the Bronze Sword.

Smith stumbled back several steps. Just when he thought he was about to die, the entire room was suddenly shrouded in a blood-red haze.

”What’s this...”

Ye Xiu was startled by the sudden change and instinctively looked at the Bloodstone on the ground. Only then did he realize what had happened. When he pulled the Bronze Sword from Smith and Smith stumbled back, blood from the wound had dripped directly onto the Bloodstone.

Could the blood of someone who has taken a Blood Pill be the key to unlocking the Bloodstone’s secrets?

”What is this thing?” Smith’s body started trembling violently, as if the Bloodstone were some terrifying entity.

No sooner had the words left his mouth than the Bloodstone began to float, moving toward the wound in Smith’s abdomen.

Then, Ye Xiu and Smith witnessed a horrific scene. The blood from within Smith’s body poured from the wound as if on a pilgrimage, flowing directly into the Bloodstone to be absorbed.

In an instant, the Bloodstone had drained Smith completely dry of blood!

”I... I never thought... I never thought that I, the great Gun God, would... would die like this.”

Smith collapsed to the ground with a thud, dead.

Thus, a generation’s Gun God had fallen. It was an undignified death.

As Smith hit the floor, the Bloodstone also fell. The bloody glow in the room dissipated, and the stone stopped shining, reverting to its previous appearance.

No... it wasn’t quite the same as before. Its color had faded.

”It seems the person who refined the Dragon Sparrow Sword and the one who made the Blood Pills are one and the same,” Ye Xiu murmured to himself as he picked up the Bloodstone. He still couldn’t understand why its color had faded after absorbing Smith’s blood.

Just then, his phone rang.

It was Xia Zhiwei. ”Hey, come save me! I’m in big trouble!”

”Where are you?” Ye Xiu asked.

”I’ll send you my location,” she replied.

”Okay!”

Ye Xiu hung up, grabbed Smith’s sniper rifle, and hurried out.

Just as he walked out of the office building, An Dongye and Chloe came running up. ”Little bro, are you okay?” An Dongye asked, looking Ye Xiu up and down with concern.

”I’m fine.” Ye Xiu shrugged and handed the sniper rifle to An Dongye. ”This was the Gun God’s rifle. There’s no better sniper rifle in the world. It’s yours.”

”I knew it! How could my skills lose to the Gun God? Turns out his rifle was just better than mine,” An Dongye said indignantly as he took the weapon.

Ye Xiu and Chloe were speechless.

Heh. He’s really good at making excuses.

”Anyway, I have something to do, so I can’t take you two back. You’ll have to grab a cab,” Ye Xiu said.

Worried about what might have happened to Xia Zhiwei, he said a quick goodbye, ran out of the factory, and drove Mo Luo’s Bentley straight toward Qingfeng Road University. Ye Xiu already knew Xia Zhiwei was a junior there, and the location she sent confirmed she was on campus.

「Ten minutes earlier.」

After class, Xia Zhiwei and her best friend, Tang Guoguo, were walking out, discussing getting some milk tea and duck necks.

But when they reached the parking area, they saw a crowd of students gathered around. A young man standing next to a white BMW was angrily asking, ”Whose pink electric scooter is this?”

Xia Zhiwei glanced over, and her heart sank. That pink electric scooter was indeed her beloved ride. Only now, it was lying against the side of the BMW, having left a dent and several scratches on the door.

Xia Zhiwei nearly fainted.

That’s a BMW! My scooter damaged a BMW! I could never afford to pay for it, not even if I sold myself!

”That has to be Xia Zhiwei’s. Only she would like such a gaudy color,” a tall girl remarked snidely.

”That’s right, it’s hers. She bought it secondhand last week and just had it painted pink the day before yesterday.”

”It’s definitely hers. I saw her ride it to class with my own eyes.”

Hearing countless students confirm the scooter was hers, Xia Zhiwei started to panic.

”Who is Xia Zhiwei? Where is she?” the young man asked.

”That’s her.” The tall girl spotted Xia Zhiwei in the crowd and pointed right at her.
