Medical and Martial God

Chapter 303: Chapter 303: Heartbeat Bomb

”Plan for defeat before you presume victory!” Shen Tianfang shrugged. ”I’m always cautious. No matter how meticulous a plan is, I always have a hidden move in reserve. But it seems even the most meticulous plans have oversights. If I had arranged a hidden force to monitor those 100 AK gunners, you wouldn’t be sitting here alive right now.”

Ye Xiu didn’t disagree. If Shen Tianfang had realized that his men had been replaced and arranged a countermeasure, Ye Xiu was confident he could have escaped. However, An Dongye and her one hundred subordinates would have been in grave danger.

”I’m curious,” he asked. ”Since you knew I captured your two subordinates, you must have guessed they would talk and that I’d come for you immediately. So why didn’t you run?”

”Why would I run?” Shen Tianfang countered.

”Because the moment I found you, you’d be a dead man,” Ye Xiu said.

”Not necessarily, right?” Shen Tianfang laughed, his posture casual and flippant. ”Perhaps you haven’t realized it yet, but from the moment you stepped into Muqing Hot Springs, you walked straight into the Ghost Gate. This round is mine.”

At these words, the color drained from An Dongye’s face, and she began to scan her surroundings nervously.

Ye Xiu, however, wasn’t nervous. He stroked the leg of the flight attendant beside him and asked, ”You’re not planning on having these lovely ladies kill me, are you?”

”You think they can’t?” Shen Tianfang retorted.

”They can’t,” Ye Xiu stated with absolute certainty.

Shen Tianfang laughed and said to the flight attendant next to Ye Xiu, ”Show Divine Doctor Ye the gift I’ve prepared for him.”

”Of course!”

The flight attendant smiled sweetly, pointing to a black patch about two centimeters in diameter stuck to her stomach. ”This is a life-sign sensing device. Do you recognize it, Divine Doctor Ye?”

Before Ye Xiu could answer, she continued, ”Young Master Shen has installed thirty heartbeat bombs throughout the Muqing Hot Springs building. If I die, those thirty bombs will instantly detonate, turning the entire building to dust.”

An Dongye sucked in a sharp breath of cold air, her scalp tingling with fear.

Xia Xue wasn’t afraid. At that moment, she suddenly found the Shen Tianfang before her to be a complete stranger, as if she had never known him at all.

”You’re sitting right beside me. Do you think I’d let you die?” Ye Xiu asked.

”Every one of us sisters here is wearing one of these devices, and we all have poison hidden in our mouths. No matter how powerful you are, you can’t possibly stop all of us from committing suicide at once. As long as a single one of us succeeds in taking the poison, you, me, and everyone else in this building will be turned to ash,” the flight attendant said with a smile.

The smile vanished from Ye Xiu’s face. Only then did he notice that all the young women in the room were keeping their distance from him, clearly to prevent him from stopping their suicides.

”You’re a complete lunatic,” Ye Xiu said, glaring at Shen Tianfang. ”To kill me, you’re willing to die along with everyone else in this building.”

”I love to play games,” Shen Tianfang laughed. ”It’s the pursuit of my life. Being able to outplay the famous Medicine King of Xuanse and save the entire Shen Family is worth it, even if it means sacrificing myself, everyone in this building, and many more.”

”And you think you’ve won?” Ye Xiu asked.

”Unless you can escape this building in one second, you’re doomed,” Shen Tianfang said confidently.

”Want me to show you how I get out of this?” Ye Xiu asked.

”Sure!” Shen Tianfang shrugged, settling in to watch the show.

Ye Xiu shot to his feet, his fingers a blur of motion. In an instant, everyone in the room except for Ye Xiu, An Dongye, Xia Xue, and Shen Tianfang crumpled limply to the floor.

He smiled. ”It’s called Distant Acupoint Sealing. I sealed their sleep acupoints, putting them all to sleep.”

”That...” Shen Tianfang’s playful expression froze on his face. He asked in disbelief, ”Distant Acupoint Sealing? I’ve never heard of anyone in the Ancient Martial Circle with such a miraculous ability.”

An Dongye and Xia Xue were also completely stunned. Acupoint Sealing was a skill that most in the Ancient Martial Circle possessed, so it wasn’t particularly rare. But Distant Acupoint Sealing, from such a great distance and affecting over a hundred people in an instant... they had never heard of anyone in the Ancient Martial Circle capable of such a feat.

”That just shows how little you know,” Ye Xiu said with a smile.

Shen Tianfang stared at Ye Xiu with a solemn expression for several seconds before saying, ”I underestimated you again.”

”Stop the act. I don’t see any despair in your eyes. You have another trick up your sleeve, don’t you?” Ye Xiu asked.

”Is my acting that bad?” Shen Tianfang asked, frustrated.

”It’s not just bad, it’s atrocious,” Ye Xiu replied.

”Fine. I’m not a professional actor, after all.” Shen Tianfang shrugged. ”Actually, there are many others in this building wearing life-sign sensing devices.”

”I know!” Ye Xiu nodded.

”You know?” Shen Tianfang was taken aback.

”A moment ago, you glanced under the coffee table. If I’m not mistaken, there’s a walkie-talkie or a phone on an open call hidden there, right? All you have to do is give the word, and the others on different floors wearing the life-sign devices will detonate the bombs. Correct?” Ye Xiu asked with a smile.

”How could you have guessed that?” Shen Tianfang was utterly astonished.

”Was it that hard to guess?” Ye Xiu countered.

Shen Tianfang frowned. He was suddenly realizing that Ye Xiu was far too experienced with these kinds of plots. All his schemes felt like child’s play in comparison.

He didn’t dare to play games with Ye Xiu any longer. He suddenly roared, ”Detonate!”

The moment he shouted, An Dongye, who was behind the sofa, grabbed Ye Xiu’s shoulders, hauled him up, and sprinted toward the floor-to-ceiling windows, intending to crash through them and jump.

Caught off guard by An Dongye’s abrupt action, Ye Xiu quickly struggled free and wrapped his arms around her. ”Calm down. If you jump from here, you’ll be nothing but a smear on the pavement.”

”Better than being blown to bits,” An Dongye said, her expression frantic. She then paused. ”Huh? Little brother, how come you aren’t worried at all?”

”Yeah, why aren’t I worried?” Ye Xiu chuckled and turned to look at Shen Tianfang. ”Do you know why I’m not worried?”

A flicker of panic crossed Shen Tianfang’s face as he realized something must have gone wrong. ”Why?” he asked.

Ye Xiu snapped his fingers.

Then, Leng Yue entered carrying a large burlap sack. She walked over and dumped its contents onto the coffee table with a loud clatter.

It was a pile of thirty heartbeat bombs, all of which had been disarmed.

”You... you disarmed all the bombs I installed in the building?” Shen Tianfang shot to his feet, staring at Leng Yue in shock. ”How did you get in? How did you know where the bombs were hidden?”
