Chapter 329: Chapter 329: What’s Up, Little Bro?

”Come here, let me take your pulse.”

Ye Xiu pulled Xia Xue over, took her right hand to check her pulse, and frowned. ”You’re not sick, so why has your personality suddenly changed so drastically?”

”I want to live differently.” Xia Xue hugged Ye Xiu and pouted playfully. ”I used to be arrogant and chaste. Shen Tianfang was my first love, my one and only man. But looking back, I realize I lost out on so much by living that way. I want to live more freely and be more carefree, just doing whatever I want.”

”That’s a great idea, but don’t cling to me. I have a wife,” Ye Xiu said, pushing her away forcefully.

”I’ll be your lover!” Xia Xue said playfully.

Lover, my ass!

Ye Xiu raised his hand and knocked Xia Xue unconscious. He couldn’t be bothered with her lying in the restroom, so he went out, spoke briefly with Xia Zhiwei and the others, and then left the Starlight Club. He was genuinely afraid that Xia Xue would continue to pester him after she woke up.

When he returned to the Shui Tian Lake Residences, he saw An Dongye sitting on the villa’s front steps, bruised and swollen, catching his breath.

”What happened to you? Did a dog lick you?” Ye Xiu asked.

”Is that any way to talk to your boss?” An Dongye glared, making it clear his dignity as the boss was not to be trifled with. ”I was beaten by Kuroki Suzu!” he declared, not the least bit ashamed.

Ye Xiu was speechless. He could see that An Dongye and Kuroki Suzu had clashing personalities. If the two of them stayed together, trouble was bound to happen sooner or later.

Entering the villa, he saw Qin Qing and Kong Ruoruo bandaging Kuroki Suzu’s wounds. Her injuries looked even worse than An Dongye’s.

”You’re a War God, and you couldn’t beat an Eighth Grade Grandmaster?” Ye Xiu asked.

”She’s very fast. She’d hit me and then run away, and I couldn’t catch her,” Kuroki Suzu said, sounding aggrieved.

Heh! An Dongye had actually created a legend: an Eighth Grade Grandmaster thrashing a War God!

”Kuroki Suzu, I have a mission for you,” Ye Xiu said as he sat down.

”Tell me!” Kuroki Suzu’s spirits immediately lifted. She wanted to get on with the mission as soon as possible and get far away from that brute An Dongye.

”Go back to Sang Jing and find a way to unify the Sangjing Ninja World,” Ye Xiu said.

”Okay!” Kuroki Suzu agreed readily.

”After the fall of the Tiansha Association, the Sangjing Ninja World fell apart. With your strength, it won’t be hard to rule it, but there’s one person you need to be careful of,” Ye Xiu warned.

”Who?” Kuroki Suzu asked.

”Ba Dao!”

”Ba Dao? Didn’t he die over thirty years ago?”

”He’s still alive. The last time I went to Sang Jing, it was to look for him. I couldn’t find him, so I killed the president of the Tiansha Association while I was at it. Ba Dao is very dangerous. Although he’s in hiding, you must not confront him head-on if you run into him.”

”Alright, I understand!” With that, Kuroki Suzu ignored her injuries, grabbed her sword, and hurried away. She didn’t want to see An Dongye for even a second longer.

”Who is Ba Dao?” Qin Qing asked.

”That name sounds so badass,” Kong Ruoruo said.

Chloe also looked puzzled, as she had never heard of anyone named Ba Dao.

”Ba Dao should be about the same age as Shen Songshan, nearly a hundred years old,” Ye Xiu explained.

”Then you’d better find him quickly, or he’ll die of old age,” Qin Qing chimed in.

”Who knows where he’s hiding,” Ye Xiu said helplessly.

”You could spread rumors badmouthing him. He might get so mad that he comes looking for you himself,” Qin Qing suggested.

Ye Xiu’s eyes lit up. That’s right, why didn’t I think of that?

He said to Chloe, ”Notify Gong Jin. Have our informants in Sang Jing widely spread the news that I’m trashing Ba Dao.”

”Okay!” Chloe nodded and took out her phone to contact Gong Jin.

Just then, Ye Xiu’s phone rang, showing an unfamiliar number. He answered curiously, and Xia Xue’s seductive voice came from the phone. ”Darling, did you take advantage of me while I was unconscious?”

Ye Xiu hung up decisively.

Crazy woman!

The phone rang again. It was Xia Xue.

He hung up.

It rang again.

He hung up.

After this happened more than a dozen times, Qin Qing asked, ”What’s going on?”

Ye Xiu had no choice but to come clean.

”Ruoruo, come on, let’s go buy a pair of scissors,” Qin Qing said.

”What for?” Kong Ruoruo asked.

”If your cousin dares to betray me, I’ll snip him,” Qin Qing said coldly.

Ye Xiu, Kong Ruoruo, and Chloe were left speechless.

「The next morning.」

An Dongye, wearing pajamas and rubbing his bleary eyes, came out to see Ye Xiu watching Qin Qing’s sword practice with a constipated expression.

”What’s wrong, little bro? Why so listless?” he asked.

Ye Xiu could only chuckle bitterly. Xia Xue had relentlessly called him all night. He hadn’t dared to turn off his phone, fearing that Gong Jin or the others might have urgent business and wouldn’t be able to reach him.

Just then, his phone rang again.

Ye Xiu was about to hang up but saw it wasn’t Xia Xue’s number. It was, however, still an unknown number.

What gives? Did she change her number?

He answered hesitantly.

”Divine Doctor Ye, this is Luo Qianjun. I hope calling so early didn’t disturb your sleep?” Luo Qianjun’s hearty voice came through the phone.

Ye Xiu was puzzled. How did Luo Qianjun get my number?

”No, I’ve been up for a while. Is there something you need, Young Master Luo?” he asked.

”I was looking for something to do. How about we go play some golf together?” Luo Qianjun asked.

”Sure! Where do we play?” Ye Xiu readily agreed.

”The golf course at the Shui Tian Lake Golf Resort,” Luo Qianjun replied.

”Great!”

Ye Xiu ended the call and asked Qin Qing, ”Luo Qianjun invited me to play golf. Do you want to come?”

”Sure, it could be fun,” Qin Qing said.

「After breakfast.」

Ye Xiu drove the Buick minivan that Mo Luo had delivered, taking Qin Qing, Kong Ruoruo, An Dongye, and Chloe to the Shui Tian Lake Golf Resort.

Just as they reached the entrance and were about to drive in, a car horn blared frantically from behind them. Ye Xiu glanced in the rearview mirror and saw a Porsche roaring toward them, followed by two Land Rovers.

”Not good!”

Seeing the Porsche about to ram them, Ye Xiu knew there was no time to dodge. ”Hold on tight!” he shouted.

The words had barely left his mouth when—

CRASH!

The Porsche collided with the rear of the Buick minivan, sending it hurtling into the Shui Tian Lake Golf Resort.

”Get the hell out!” A pot-bellied man and a scantily clad young woman with tattooed arms climbed out of the Porsche. The man ran over, kicked the door of Ye Xiu’s minivan, and bellowed, ”Damn it, are you blind or deaf?”
