Medical and Martial God

Chapter 251: Chapter 251: A Team Battle Triggered by a Misunderstanding

Shen Monong’s pretty face grew solemn. ”Although the Shen Family has many allies among the Ancient Martial Families and sects in Qingfeng Road and Qi Yun Dao, the Lian Family is the number one Ancient Martial Family in Qingfeng Road. There are also many Ancient Martial Families and sects that are their vassals. Moreover, the Lian Family’s attack came so suddenly that our allies couldn’t come to the rescue in time. I’m afraid the Shen Family is in grave danger this time.”

”Doesn’t the Shen Family have any Martial Artists?” Ye Xiu asked.

”There are some Loose Cultivators who have pledged allegiance to the Shen Family, but they are too few to stand against the Lian Family,” Shen Monong said, her face full of worry.

”I thought the Shen Family was an Ancient Martial Family,” Ye Xiu remarked.

”How could that be possible?” Shen Monong gave a bitter smile. ”The Shen Family is just an old business family.”

Ye Xiu stopped asking questions. He had discovered that Shen Monong, the daughter of Shen Shijie from the Shen Family’s Main Lineage, was clueless about the internal affairs of her own family. Of course, even though Ye Xiu had discovered that Shen Shihao possessed the strength of a War God, he still couldn’t be certain that the Shen Family was an Ancient Martial Family.

”Take me to the Shen Family,” Ye Xiu said. ”With my skills, I can help alleviate some of the pressure on them.”

Upon hearing this, Shen Monong was almost moved to tears. ”Thank you for being willing to help the Shen Family at a time like this, just for my sake. You’re a good person.”

Ye Xiu was flabbergasted. ”Where did you get the idea that I’m helping the Shen Family for you?”

With an air of having seen right through his thoughts, Shen Monong said, ”Stop pretending. I know you like me. You fell for me at first sight at the bar last night, didn’t you? That’s why you stepped in when those thugs sent by Lian Zhengrong were harassing me. You respect me because you like me, which is why you didn’t take advantage of me when I was drunk...”

Ye Xiu looked blankly at Shen Monong, who was completely lost in her own world, and said, ”You should go to the hospital. There’s definitely something wrong with your brain.”

”You’re so frustratingly reserved,” Shen Monong pouted. ”You clearly like me but refuse to admit it. If you like someone, just say it out loud! Maybe I’ll agree to give dating you a try.”

Ye Xiu felt he could no longer continue the conversation with Shen Monong. In his twenty-six years of life, he had never met such a presumptuous woman. Shen Monong was waiting for Ye Xiu to confess, but he remained silent.

Hmph! If you won’t talk, then I won’t talk either. Let’s see who breaks first!

At that moment, inside a moving RV, the Poison King, Shen Shihao, and Shen Shijie were drinking and chatting. Of course, it was the Poison King and Shen Shihao who were chatting while Shen Shijie listened.

”Senior, what do you think the Lian Family will do with that kid?” Shen Shihao asked with a smile.

”There’s no need to guess. They will definitely kill him,” the Poison King said with a confident smile. ”However, that kid killed Lian Zhengrong’s bodyguards, forced Lian Zhengrong to strip in public, and carried off Shen Monong in front of everyone. After suffering such a massive humiliation, the Lian Family is unlikely to kill the kid so easily. They’ll probably torture him for a while before they finish him off.”

”Tsk tsk, I’d really love to see how the Lian Family tortures that kid firsthand,” Shen Shihao said with regret, getting annoyed all over again at the thought of how he had waited on Ye Xiu for the entire trip.

”It’s not too late to go back and watch,” the Poison King goaded him.

Shen Shihao was tempted. However, before he could make a decision, his cell phone suddenly rang. Seeing it was a call from his father, Shen Qilin, he quickly answered. Before he could even speak, Shen Qilin’s roaring voice came through the phone.

”The Lian Family is mobilizing all their forces to attack the Shen Family! What on earth is going on?”

”Ah?” Shen Shihao was utterly baffled. ”Dad, who told you that?”

”Monong told me. I just called Lian Haidong. That kid you sent to the Lian Family kicked Lian Zhengrong to death and abducted Lian Chengbi! Lian Haidong is stubbornly convinced that I no longer want to marry Monong to Lian Chengbi, so I sent that kid to the bar to humiliate Lian Zhengrong, and then sent him to the Lian Family estate to kill him and kidnap Lian Chengbi.” Shen Qilin’s voice thundered, ”He’s also claiming I sent the mysterious young man who knocked out the four bodyguards last night! He thinks I’m behind the car crash that killed an Eighth Grade Grandmaster and four more bodyguards. He even said the mysterious young man who killed dozens of the Lian Family’s martial artists at the highway entrance this morning was also one of my men...”

Hearing this, Shen Shihao was completely stupefied.

As a War God, the Poison King’s hearing was far beyond that of an ordinary person. Combined with the sheer volume of Shen Qilin’s roaring, he heard everything and was just as dumbstruck. That kid kicked Lian Zhengrong to death? And abducted Lian Chengbi?

Shen Shihao felt his world collapsing. He had captured Ye Xiu and sent him to the Lian Family, hoping to extinguish their fury so that the engagement banquet between Monong and Lian Zhengrong could continue. But the result was making a powerful enemy for the Shen Family?

”Just moments ago, we were discussing how the Lian Family would deal with that kid, and now he’s gone and kicked Lian Zhengrong to death and fled with Lian Chengbi. Why do I feel like we’ve just been slapped in the face?” the Poison King said with a dark expression.

”We underestimated him,” Shen Shihao said. ”No wonder he was so calm the entire time. He was clearly pretending to be weak to seize an opportunity to launch a surprise attack, kill Lian Zhengrong, and snatch Lian Chengbi.”

”But he clearly took my Cartilage Elixir! Where did he get the strength to kill Lian Zhengrong and abduct Lian Chengbi in front of so many of the Lian Family’s experts?” the Poison King questioned.

Shen Shihao was taken aback. ”Could it be that your Cartilage Elixir expired?”

The Poison King wanted to retort that it was impossible, yet he couldn’t explain how Ye Xiu had managed to kill and abduct someone after consuming the Cartilage Elixir. He began to wonder if his Cartilage Elixir really had expired, seeing as he had concocted this batch three years ago.

”Maybe it really did expire,” the Poison King said. ”But that kid’s acting skills are quite impressive. He fooled all three of us.”

”Hey, what are you two talking about?” Shen Qilin’s roar came from the phone.

Only then did Shen Shihao remember he was still on the call with his father. He quickly said, ”Dad, I think this is just a pretext from the Lian Family. They must have been displeased with Monong, and with the public humiliation of Lian Zhengrong stripping last night, that old thief Lian Haidong is pinning all the blame on us. He’s using this as an excuse to attack the Shen Family.”

After hearing Shen Shihao’s words, Shen Qilin was silent for a moment before saying, ”What you’re saying seems to make some sense. That old bastard Lian Haidong has always been ambitious. He has long coveted the Shen Family’s wealth and status. This looks like an opportunistic move to use Lian Zhengrong’s humiliation to replace the Shen Family and monopolize Qingfeng Road.”

If Ye Xiu had overheard the conversation between Shen Shihao and Shen Qilin, he would have howled with laughter. The Lian Family misunderstood the Shen Family, and now the Shen Family was misunderstanding the Lian Family. Were the minds of these prominent families in Qingfeng Road all this twisted?

”Dad, what should we do now?” Shen Shihao asked.

”Return home immediately and prepare for battle! I have already notified all of the Shen Family’s allies, and they are on their way at full speed. The outcome of this battle will determine who controls Qingfeng Road. We cannot afford to be careless!”

”I understand!” Shen Shihao hung up the phone, his face grim.
