Medical and Martial God

Chapter 274: Chapter 274: I Am Huang Quan, Have I Become Proud?

To deal with Ye Xiu once and for all and eliminate any future trouble, Big Teapot had arranged for a large number of men to be stationed in the laboratory, positioned on every level from the first to the fifth basement floors.

Upon receiving the order, they all scrambled to rush out. The first group to emerge consisted of thirty Gunners who had been lying in ambush on the first basement level. They were fully armed, and the orderly way they charged out demonstrated a professional discipline on par with career soldiers.

However, the moment they rushed out, they saw a young man with a sword sitting on a sofa in the office building’s lobby, one leg casually crossed over the other. Beside him, two men knelt facing each other, repeatedly slapping one another across the face.

”Fire!” the captain of the thirty Gunners immediately commanded.

Instantly, all the Gunners aimed at Ye Xiu, their fingers about to squeeze the triggers.

”You’re all too slow, my friends!”

Ye Xiu’s figure flashed and vanished from his spot. In the next moment, he had severed the tendons in the wrists of all thirty Gunners and knocked them unconscious.

It’s a good thing I didn’t just rush straight down, or the consequences would have been unimaginable.

Ye Xiu was well aware that if thirty machine guns had suddenly opened fire at once, along with sixty grenades, he would have ended up in a terrible state, even if he survived.

At that moment, more than seventy Martial Artists from the second basement level surged out in an endless stream. They were all weaklings, ranging from the First to Fifth Grade. Spotting Ye Xiu, they quickly surrounded him.

Ye Xiu didn’t rush to act. Instead, he waited until every last one of them had emerged and completed their encirclement before asking, ”Among you, are any of you surnamed Shen?”

No one answered.

”I guess not.”

Ye Xiu attacked again, crippling the Martial Prowess of every one of these Martial Artists before knocking them out.

Ye Xiu’s targets were the members of the Shen Family. These Martial Artists, raised by the Shen Family, didn’t deserve to die. However, they couldn’t be left in the family’s service. Crippling their Martial Prowess was like clipping the Shen Family’s wings.

Next, nearly thirty Sixth and Seventh Grade Martial Artists from the third level and over a dozen Eighth Grade Grandmasters from the fourth level rushed up in succession. After Ye Xiu asked each group if anyone was surnamed Shen, he crippled their Martial Prowess and knocked them all unconscious.

Finally, the people from the fifth basement level rushed up. The first to appear was Shen Sijun, followed by Big Teapot. Behind them was a Great Grandmaster bodyguard carrying Bao Niannian, who was holding Little Bao. Bringing up the rear were four other Great Grandmasters.

”This...” Seeing the bodies strewn across the ground, Shen Sijun asked in shock, ”You... you killed them all?”

”No, I just crippled their Martial Prowess and knocked them out,” Ye Xiu replied honestly.

This honest answer made Shen Sijun and Big Teapot nearly cough up blood in anger. To them, having these men crippled was no different from them being dead. The Shen Family had sent every last Martial Artist and Gunner they had cultivated over the years for this ambush. Unexpectedly, aside from the few of them standing here, all the rest were now incapacitated.

”You shouldn’t have come! This old man beside me is a War God! You have to run, run now!” Bao Niannian shouted.

”Run? Where to?” Shen Sijun glared at Ye Xiu, his teeth clenched, and said coldly, ”At this point, where could he possibly run?”

As he spoke, the four Great Grandmasters surrounded Ye Xiu. The Great Grandmaster who had been carrying them set Bao Niannian and Little Bao down, then stood protectively behind them.

”What happened? Where did those bruises come from?”

Bao Niannian was wearing a short-sleeved shirt and shorts, revealing her face, arms, and legs to be covered in bruises. The sight sent Ye Xiu into a cold fury as he rose to his feet.

”I did it!” Shen Sijun declared with a savage grin. ”You humiliated me this morning, so I beat your woman to collect a little interest. Next, I’m going to kill your son and rape your woman right in front of you. I’ll make you understand the consequences of humiliating me.”

As he spoke, he pointed a knife at Little Bao and ordered Bao Niannian, ”Take off your clothes. Otherwise, I’ll kill your son with one swing.”

”No!” Bao Niannian cried out. ”I’ll do it, I’ll take them off...”

She didn’t believe Ye Xiu could save her and Little Bao from Big Teapot, a War God. She could only swallow her pride to save her son’s life.

However, just as she was steeling herself to endure the humiliation and undress, her vision blurred. Ye Xiu had suddenly appeared in front of her, his hand clamped around Shen Sijun’s neck.

This left Bao Niannian utterly shocked. From Ye Xiu’s impossibly fast, ghost-like speed, she could tell that he was a Martial Artist—and a very powerful one at that.

But why hadn’t Big Teapot stopped him?

At that moment, Big Teapot and the five Great Grandmasters were staring at Ye Xiu in utter shock. They had wanted to stop him, but they hadn’t even been able to follow his movements. By the time they realized he had vanished, he was already in front of Bao Niannian with his hand around Shen Sijun’s neck. How could they possibly have stopped him?

”Shen Sijun, you’re courting death!” Ye Xiu said, his voice laced with killing intent as he tightened his grip on Shen Sijun’s neck.

”Do you dare kill me?” Shen Sijun scoffed, completely unafraid. ”Big Teapot is a War God, and not just any War God—he’s ranked 78th on the War God Ranking! You dare touch me? Go on, try it. I guarantee Big Teapot will kill all three of you.”

”Rank 78?” Ye Xiu sneered disdainfully.

Is being number 78 on the War God Ranking really that impressive? I’m Huang Quan, have you ever heard me bragging about it?

Just then, Big Teapot spoke, his voice cold. ”Kid, release Shen Sijun, and I’ll leave your corpse whole. If you dare kill him, I guarantee that the instant you do, you’ll die by my blade.”

Big Teapot was furious. He was Shen Qilin’s personal War God bodyguard and had led this team himself. Yet now, all his men were disabled. Even if he succeeded in killing Ye Xiu, he would have no way to explain this disaster to Shen Songshan and Shen Qilin. If Shen Sijun also died under his watch, he wouldn’t be able to face them at all.

”Big Teapot, I’ve looked into you,” Ye Xiu said. ”You only became Shen Qilin’s bodyguard five years ago, so there’s no grudge between us. You’ve trained for most of your life to achieve your current strength. It would be a shame to see it all go to waste. I hope you won’t interfere in the feud between myself and the Shen Family.”

”Ha! You’ve got some nerve, kid,” Big Teapot said with contempt. ”I am ranked 78th on the War God Ranking! Do you really think being fast makes you my equal? You’re overestimating yourself!”

”So it seems you’re determined to make an enemy of me?” Ye Xiu asked.

”I am Shen Qilin’s bodyguard, and my mission is to kill you,” Big Teapot stated, his eyes firm. ”However, out of consideration for Shen Songshan acknowledging you as a peerless genius, I can grant you a whole corpse if you release Shen Sijun.”

Saying this, he drew his blade, his posture making it clear he would strike the instant Ye Xiu refused to let Shen Sijun go.

”Sigh.” Seeing Big Teapot’s insistence on opposing him, Ye Xiu sighed. ”Since you’ve made your choice, go ahead and make your move. But let me warn you: the moment you do, I will cripple you. You’ve been warned.”

”Such arrogance!”

Enraged by Ye Xiu’s continuous disrespect, Big Teapot unleashed his full power, slashing at the wrist of the hand Ye Xiu was using to grip Shen Sijun’s neck. He was already standing right next to Shen Sijun, so he didn’t need to close any distance and could attack with his full might immediately.

He was supremely confident in this strike. Although Ye Xiu had appeared before Shen Sijun with incredible speed, he believed that speed alone did not equate to true strength. He was a War God ranked 78th on the War God Ranking! Even the number one expert on the list would have to release Shen Sijun and dodge this strike, allowing him to easily rescue his charge.

Seeing Big Teapot finally make his move, Shen Sijun and the five Great Grandmasters all broke into smiles. They all had absolute faith in him.

Bao Niannian tensed up immediately. Her thoughts mirrored those of Big Teapot, Shen Sijun, and the five Great Grandmasters. She believed that Ye Xiu’s best hope was to dodge. At worst, he wouldn’t even be able to dodge in time and would lose his hand to Big Teapot’s blade.

However, an incredible scene unfolded.

Ye Xiu’s right hand shot out like lightning, and he caught the tip of Big Teapot’s long blade between his index and middle fingers.

He did it effortlessly, as if it were the easiest thing in the world.
