Medical and Martial God

Chapter 272: Chapter 272: Bao Niannian and Xiao Bao Kidnapped

”Do we even need to ask? Just look at Dad’s complexion. It’s clear Divine Doctor Ye must have completely cured him,” Xu Fengmei said with a smile.

”I haven’t seen Grandpa this invigorated in a long time. He looks a dozen years younger,” Bao Niannian remarked.

”Hahahaha, my dear granddaughter certainly has a way with words,” Bao Longtu laughed heartily. ”Divine Doctor Ye’s miraculous hands have brought me back to life. I feel like I’m seventeen or eighteen again, full of strength.”

Upon hearing this, Bao Yadong, Xu Fengmei, and Bao Niannian hurriedly thanked Ye Xiu.

”Mr. Bao has already paid the consultation fee, so there’s no need for any more thanks,” Ye Xiu interrupted the Bao Family’s gratitude and flattery. In truth, he had cured Bao Longtu in just over twenty minutes. He only remained in the emergency room for over an hour because he and Bao Longtu were secretly plotting a major reshuffle of Qingfeng Road and even Qi Yun Dao.

Ye Xiu needed a representative in Qingfeng Road and Qi Yun Dao to stabilize the business world and the Ancient Martial Circle there.

Bao Longtu had readily accepted the role.

”Divine Doctor Ye, do you have a good relationship with Shen Qilin of the Shen Family?” Bao Yadong asked.

Ye Xiu hesitated for a moment. ”To be honest with you all, the Shen Family and I are sworn enemies. They were one of the masterminds who framed me ten years ago.”

The Bao family was shocked. They never expected the Shen Family to be among those who had conspired against Ye Xiu, let alone one of the ringleaders.

”How ridiculous,” Bao Yadong scoffed. ”Shen Qilin was just claiming you were his guest, that you two had a great relationship, and that you would even call him Grandpa Shen upon seeing him.”

”If he enjoys boasting, let him,” Ye Xiu chuckled. ”However, in their efforts to deal with me, the Shen Family might involve the Bao Family. It would be best for you to travel with Martial Artist bodyguards from now on.”

”There’s no need for Divine Doctor Ye to worry about that. Although the Bao Family is an Ancient Martial Family, we do employ a few Martial Artists. Besides, we have some influence in the Ancient Martial Circle,” Bao Longtu said with a smile.

”Daddy, Daddy...” At that moment, Ghost Doctor returned, holding Little Bao.

Ye Xiu’s face darkened. ”Don’t call me Daddy anymore. Call me Big Brother.”

Little Bao said, ”Big Pot.”

Ye Xiu’s mouth twitched. ”Just call me Brother.”

Little Bao said, ”Pot Pot.”

”Call me Great Uncle.”

”Big Evil.”

Watching Ye Xiu’s face turn the color of soot, Ghost Doctor and the Bao family couldn’t help but laugh.

Ye Xiu gave up on correcting Little Bao. He subtly told Ghost Doctor to ”exercise some restraint” and then departed.

Ghost Doctor understood Ye Xiu’s meaning and breathed a secret sigh of relief. He had genuinely feared that coming to Qingfeng Road to seek revenge on his own would anger Ye Xiu. Now it seemed Ye Xiu fully supported him, as long as he acted with discretion.

”Let’s go home, too!” Bao Longtu said, his face beaming with a smile. ”Ghost Doctor, you must stop by the Bao residence for tea when you have time.”

”Of course!” Ghost Doctor nodded.

The Bao Family, overjoyed, headed to the parking lot. Bao Longtu’s recovery was certainly an occasion worth celebrating.

”Get in the car. Your mother will be cooking for us at noon. I’m going to have a few good drinks,” Bao Longtu said with a laugh as he opened his car door.

Bao Yadong and the others were chatting and laughing as they opened their car doors, about to get in.

Suddenly, the door of an adjacent black Mercedes flew open. Two masked individuals jumped out. One, with lightning speed, snatched Little Bao from Bao Niannian’s arms, while the other grabbed Bao Niannian herself and shoved her into their car.

”What...”

By the time Bao Longtu, Bao Yadong, and Xu Fengmei reacted, both Bao Niannian and Little Bao had been forced into the Mercedes.

”You have some nerve! Do you have any idea who you’ve just kidnapped?” Bao Longtu roared in fury.

The front passenger window rolled down. A masked Shen Sijun tossed out a slip of paper and said coldly, ”Tell Little Bao’s father that if he wants the kid and Bao Niannian to live, he is to come to this address. Drive!”

As the Mercedes sped away, Bao Longtu picked up the slip of paper, his expression turning extremely grim. He asked in confusion, ”He said to have the kid’s father come rescue them. Who is his father?”

”He’s talking about Divine Doctor Ye. Little Bao must have been calling Divine Doctor Ye ’Daddy,’ and they misunderstood,” Xu Fengmei said.

”His target is Divine Doctor Ye,” Bao Yadong said, his face cold. ”If I’m not mistaken, they must have been sent by the Shen Family. Dad, we have to inform Divine Doctor Ye.”

”Absolutely not!” Bao Longtu shook his head gravely. ”Divine Doctor Ye is just a physician; he’s no match for the Shen Family. Sending him to rescue Niannian and Little Bao would be sending him to his death. He is my savior! I would rather die myself than let him take such a risk.”

”You’re right,” Bao Yadong nodded. ”Then should we go rescue Niannian and Little Bao ourselves?”

”Call Shen Qilin. Tell him I’m inviting him to lunch. If he doesn’t hand our people over, I’ll make him understand that the Bao Family is not to be trifled with,” Bao Longtu declared, his voice filled with authority.

Ye Xiu hadn’t gone far after leaving the hospital when his phone rang. It was Gong Jin. ”Bao Niannian and the kid have been kidnapped by Shen Sijun.”

What? Ye Xiu’s brow furrowed. The Shen Family certainly worked fast.

”Keep a close eye on them and report their location at all times,” he instructed.

As he finished speaking, he was hailing a taxi by the roadside when You Ming called. ”Young Master, I’ve monitored Shen Qilin’s calls. Bao Yadong just called him to say that Bao Longtu is inviting him for lunch.”

Oh? Ye Xiu gave a wry smile. With Bao Niannian and Little Bao kidnapped, Bao Longtu’s first instinct wasn’t to call him, but to try and deal with Shen Qilin personally.

Impressive. Bao Longtu is a man of integrity.

”Find out where Bao Longtu is treating Shen Qilin to lunch and let me know,” Ye Xiu said.

You Ming replied, ”Roger that!”

In the secret laboratory on the fifth floor beneath the Hongtai Nonwoven Fabric Factory office building, Shen Sijun had brought the unconscious Bao Niannian and Little Bao.

This was the site of the bloodbath Ye Xiu had caused last night, but it had since been cleaned spotlessly, leaving it stark and empty.

”Let’s just wait here,” Shen Sijun said, stretching lazily. ”Get me some takeout,” he commanded. ”I haven’t even had breakfast. I’m starving!”

As he spoke, he looked smug and utterly satisfied.

”Yes, sir!” A bodyguard immediately placed an order for him.

”Young Master, the Master’s mission for you was to kill that brat and eliminate the Bao Family. Why did you only abduct Bao Niannian and the kid? Wouldn’t it have been better to grab Bao Longtu and Bao Yadong as well?” a round-faced old man inquired.

He was Shen Qilin’s personal bodyguard, a War God ranked 78th on the War God Ranking, known by his moniker, ”Big Teapot.” His true name was a mystery. His power was formidable, and he was renowned throughout the national Ancient Martial Circle.

”We must do things one step at a time. First, we use Bao Niannian and the kid to lure that brat here and kill him. Then, we’ll draw in the rest of the Bao Family and finish them off,” Shen Sijun explained with a smile.

Big Teapot cursed inwardly. What a moron. If we had just grabbed Bao Longtu and Bao Yadong, the Bao Family would be a dragon without a head. But this fool had to go and complicate things! By only grabbing Bao Niannian and Little Bao, he has given Bao Longtu time to prepare. The Bao Family’s influence in the Ancient Martial Circle is not to be underestimated.
