Medical and Martial God

Chapter 299: Chapter 299: Dragon Stream’s Number One Sword

”Heh, that’s a rather unique hobby.”

Xia Zhiwei ignored An Dongye and asked her parents, ”Can Ye Xiu really cure my sister’s leg?”

”He’s the Xuanse Medicine King, and he said he could cure Xia Xue’s leg. There shouldn’t be a problem,” her mother said.

”Don’t get your hopes up.” Xia’s father’s face was wracked with anxiety. ”Over the years, we’ve taken Xia Xue to countless doctors. In the beginning, didn’t every single one of them beat their chests and guarantee a cure? Yet we’ve spent a fortune, and Xia Xue has taken endless medicine, but her leg never got any better.”

The greater the hope, the greater the disappointment. He had already lost all hope for Xia Xue’s leg!

Xia Dehe remained silent. He shared Xia’s father’s sentiment. It wasn’t that he questioned Ye Xiu’s medical skills, but even the highly skilled Xuanse Medicine King wasn’t omnipotent. There were always illnesses that couldn’t be cured.

”Village Chief, there are two people outside,” a middle-aged man said as he ran into the courtyard.

Just as Xia Dehe was about to lead his men out, a thunderous curse echoed from beyond the walls.

”Xia Dehe, you old bastard, get your ass out here!” The voice boomed, coarse and wild.

”Who dares to curse me?” Enraged, Xia Dehe stormed out of Xia Xue’s house with his people.

As soon as he stepped outside, he saw two old men approaching, both radiating a murderous aura. One was burly with a full, bushy beard; the other was quiet and looked like an artist, but he carried a sword. The members of the Heavenly Dragon Sect were already glaring at the two newcomers.

”Who just cursed me?” Xia Dehe asked, his face cold.

”I did!” the bearded old man declared.

”Who are you? And why are you cursing me?” Xia Dehe demanded.

”I am Fu Sanshan of the Dragon Stream’s Fu Family. Fu Haifeng is my grandson. Now do you understand why I’m cursing you?” Fu Sanshan said, his voice dripping with murderous intent.

Now Xia Dehe understood. The people of the Heavenly Dragon Sect also understood, and they all glared furiously at Fu Sanshan.

”Are you here to avenge Fu Haifeng?” Xia Dehe asked.

”Exactly!” Fu Sanshan said without hedging. ”You seriously injured my grandson, Fu Haifeng. If I don’t hack you to pieces today, then my name isn’t Fu Sanshan!”

Xia Dehe said coldly, ”Fu Haifeng assaulted my granddaughter, Xia Zhiwei. Did I not have the right to strike him?”

”That’s fucking bullshit!” Fu Sanshan roared, lunging at Xia Dehe. He attacked as he yelled, ”For my grandson to even look at your granddaughter is a blessing of eight lifetimes for her and your Heavenly Dragon Sect’s bunch of poor farmers! Not only did you not seize the opportunity, but you dared to injure my grandson? I’ll kill you!”

”You...” Xia Dehe was infuriated by Fu Sanshan’s words, but he didn’t lose his senses. He repelled the attack with a punch, forcing Fu Sanshan back. ”Stop right there! The Xuanse Medicine King, Divine Doctor Ye, is a guest of my Heavenly Dragon Sect. I won’t stoop to your level, so get lost. If you still want revenge, come back another day.”

”Ye Xiu?” Fu Sanshan paused for a moment, then his expression turned to one of excitement. ”Haha, so Ye Xiu is here! Perfect! That saves me the trouble of finding him. Xia Dehe, bring Ye Xiu out here to heal my grandson’s injuries, and I might let you live a few more days.”

”Divine Doctor Ye is currently treating my granddaughter’s illness. He has no time to heal Fu Haifeng,” Xia Dehe replied flatly.

”That’s not up to him.” Fu Sanshan charged toward Xia Xue’s house. With so many people gathered there, it was obvious that Ye Xiu had to be inside.

”You can’t go in!” Xia Dehe blocked his path, his voice icy. ”I’m warning you, Fu Sanshan. Don’t be an idiot and court death. You can’t afford to provoke Divine Doctor Ye.”

”Provoke? Ha...” Fu Sanshan sneered dismissively. ”Ye Xiu is just a lowly doctor. Even if I charge in, would he dare get angry? If I tell him to treat my grandson, does he dare refuse? Get out of my way, Xia Dehe, or I’ll slaughter the Heavenly Dragon Sect first and then take Ye Xiu with me.”

”Fu Sanshan, don’t push your luck! On any other day, I would have already smashed you to death with an Iron Spatula for saying that,” Xia Dehe seethed.

”In that case, I’ll kill you first, slaughter the Heavenly Dragon Sect, and then go in to find Ye Xiu.” Fu Sanshan’s hands suddenly began to glow like red-hot iron as he launched a full-powered assault on Xia Dehe.

Flame Palm, the ultimate skill of the Dragon Stream’s Fu Family!

Xia Dehe was forced into a steady retreat by Fu Sanshan’s attack, not daring to meet his strikes head-on.

”Grandpa, catch!” Just then, Xia Zhiwei ran over, tossing an Iron Spatula to Xia Dehe.

The Iron Spatula! It was Xia Dehe’s weapon!

”Fu Sanshan, have a taste of my Life-taking Thirteen Spade!” With his weapon in hand, Xia Dehe’s strength exploded, completely overwhelming Fu Sanshan, who could only dodge, unable to fight back at all.

This greatly shocked Fu Sanshan. They were both Great Grandmasters, yet Xia Dehe was so much stronger than him.

”Master Chai, lend me a hand!” Fu Sanshan shouted.

”The mere Xia Dehe is not worthy of us joining forces. If word got out, it would tarnish my very name, Chai Wenjin,” said the expressionless, sword-wielding old man. ”You step back. Watch me annihilate Xia Dehe.”

”Fine!” Fu Sanshan quickly retreated.

Xia Dehe did not pursue. Instead, he stared grimly at the approaching Chai Wenjin and asked, ”You’re the Dragon Stream’s Number One Sword, Chai Wenjin?”

”That’s right.” Chai Wenjin nodded, slowly drawing his weapon. It was a rust-spotted bronze sword. He spoke in a grave tone, ”Beneath the War God, no one is my match. Now that my sword is drawn, it must taste blood. Xia Dehe, prepare to die!”

With that, he flicked his wrist, and his sword erupted into a shower of blossoms. A fierce Sword Qi swept out in all directions, surging toward Xia Dehe.

”Such arrogance!” Xia Dehe bellowed, swinging his Iron Spatula to meet Chai Wenjin’s attack.

The moment they clashed, Chai Wenjin realized he had boasted too soon. Xia Dehe’s strength was no less than his own. He couldn’t possibly defeat Xia Dehe alone, but having already boasted that he would, he was too embarrassed to ask Fu Sanshan for help.

”Master Chai, I’ll help you!” Fu Sanshan, seeing Chai Wenjin’s predicament, took the initiative and rejoined the fight.

The two of them teamed up against Xia Dehe. Three Great Grandmasters, fighting two against one.

Xia Dehe was beginning to feel the strain. Though he wasn’t in immediate danger, his defeat was only a matter of time.

”Stop!”

Just then, Ye Xiu emerged.

Xia Dehe swung the Iron Spatula with all his might, forcing Fu Sanshan and Chai Wenjin back. He then retreated to stand before Ye Xiu. ”Divine Doctor Ye, Fu Sanshan wants to capture you to treat Fu Haifeng. Go back inside. You can come out after I’ve dealt with these two.”

”Can you defeat both of them?” Ye Xiu asked.

Xia Dehe was speechless.

He couldn’t.

He was the only Great Grandmaster in the Heavenly Dragon Sect. If this fight continued, he would eventually die from exhaustion, and Fu Sanshan and Chai Wenjin would annihilate his sect.

He said, ”Divine Doctor Ye, I’ll hold them off. Please, take the people of the Heavenly Dragon Sect and leave Green Leaf Island to hide for a while.”
