“What do you think, Junior Brother Lu?” Shangguan Qiu, who had been taciturn all this while, suddenly turned to look at Lu Ye, who had been trying to stabilise his Spiritual Power.

The members of Team A3 led by Geng Wuwang had different fortes. Shangguan Qiu was good at observations.

Following the turn of events and the Soul Attack, all of them were mentally impacted. The others might not notice it, but Shangguan Qiu never forgot about it.

Before Ning Hu even revealed his true cultivation, Lu Ye had cast an attack at him.

This meant that Lu Ye had a sensitive perception of imminent danger, which was why he could make a move before Ning Hu did.

One had to know that Ning Hu was a Divine Ocean Realm Master, so Lu Ye’s perception could be considered incredible.

In such a situation, it was reasonable to ask for Lu Ye’s opinion.

One couldn’t judge a book by its cover. Shangguan Qiu would never underestimate anyone just because the other party was weaker. Just like what Geng Wuwang had said, all of them were once First-Order Real Lake Realm Masters.

“What’s the point of asking him?” Xiao Yurun said impatiently. “He’s just a First-Order Real Lake Realm Master. Perhaps he has never been in a real battle. In such a situation, we should retreat as quickly as we can.”

Shangguan Qiu shot him a look. “If the team leader was conscious, he probably wouldn’t make that choice.”

“But he’s unconscious now, and I believe he won’t put our lives at risk.”

While they were arguing, Lu Ye suddenly pressed his saber against the ground and got to his feet. As he took a deep breath, he felt some pain in his chest. Other than that, he was generally fine as he could still fully activate his power.

He beckoned to Amber, who immediately turned into the size of a cat and leapt onto his shoulder.

“Junior Brother Lu?” Kang Yuanqiao looked at him in shock. The others turned to glance at him as well.

Lu Ye looked in the direction where the sounds of battles and shrieks came from. He held the hilt of his weapon and said slowly, “I have no idea how you all usually deal with such a situation, but since I’ve suffered a setback, I’ll get my revenge. If there’s a chance, I’ll get it right away.”

All of them were shocked. Naturally, they could see that Lu Ye was determined to have a hand in Red Cloud Mountain’s affairs. Even Kang Yuanqiao, who had proposed joining forces with the Real Lake Realm Masters of Red Cloud Mountain, fell into a dazed state as he had no idea why Lu Ye was so courageous.

If they went over now, they would have to deal with a Divine Ocean Realm Master.

As Real Lake Realm Masters, they stood no chance of defeating their enemy. Just a Soul Attack could destroy them.

Coincidentally, Lu Ye had a treasure that could deal with Divine Ocean Realm Masters. Thanks to his Pass Leader, who had asked the Heavens to grant Lu Ye a lot of battle points as a reward for his contribution to the war at Lone Cloud City Pass, he had enough capital to purchase that particular treasure from the Hall of Battle Points.

He had intended to buy the treasure so that he wouldn’t be powerless to counterattack if he came across a Divine Ocean Realm Master. He didn’t expect to use it so soon.

Moreover, ever since Lu Ye started cultivating, he had received help from many cultivators from the Grand Sky Coalition whom he didn’t know. When his identity as the disciple of the Crimson Blood Sect was exposed on the Spirit Creek Battlefield, many cultivators from the Grand Sky Coalition lent him a helping hand, which allowed him to reach the Goldentip, where he persisted until the arrival of Shui Yuan and Li Baxian.

Then, on the Cloud River Battlefield, he also received help from many cultivators of the Grand Sky Coalition whom he didn’t know. Perhaps some of them were from Red Cloud Mountain.

Although Red Cloud Mountain was facing an existential crisis, Lu Ye couldn’t be blamed if he didn’t have the power to stop it. However, now that there was a chance, he naturally had to give it a shot.

“Do not make a rash move, brat. Look at how weak you are! Are you going to get yourself killed?” Xiao Yurun roared.

Lu Ye ignored him and stepped forward.

Xiao Yurun disappeared from his spot and stood in front of Lu Ye before staring fixedly at him. “We took you with us, so we have to bring you back. Stop moving forward.”

Seeing that Lu Ye disobeyed his order, Xiao Yurun gritted his teeth and raised his military token, growling, “I’m giving you an order as a first lieutenant of Bing Zhou Watch. Go back right now!”

As soon as he finished speaking, he infused his power into the military token, which radiated a thick yellow glow.

Lu Ye glanced at the military token and remained silent.

Xiao Yurun said, “I don’t care which Canyon or Pass you are from. According to the rules of Bing Zhou Watch, in case of an emergency, the one with a higher military rank has the right to lead the others. Even if you’re new to Bing Zhou Watch, you should’ve heard of this rule before.”

There was indeed such a rule in Bing Zhou Watch. Under normal circumstances, military ranks could only determine the monthly salaries the cultivators would get, and a higher military rank was only useful within the same Pass.

For example, Lu Ye was in Blue Flame Mountain Pass, so in that Pass, he could mobilise all the soldiers who were of a lower rank, regardless of how powerful they were. Nevertheless, since he and Nian Yuexian were the only people in Blue Flame Mountain Pass, he couldn’t give an order to anyone.

After leaving the Pass, his military rank wouldn’t be useful.

It was a rule to prevent cultivators with a higher military rank from exploiting their positions. However, in an emergency like this, the one with a higher military rank would have a bigger say.

Lu Ye never intended to use his military rank to suppress anyone. He was the weakest among these people, so it was pointless that he had a military rank. Since he couldn’t command respect with his cultivation, he naturally wouldn’t do such a thing. Moreover, he and the members of A3 were merely acquaintances as he was suddenly enlisted to carry out a task with them. They didn’t know each other well, so he didn’t intend to ask for their help. He was ready to go over on his own.

That was because he had no idea how useful the treasure would be. If it was effective, he could solve the crisis that Red Cloud Mountain faced. But if it was useless, he had to retreat as well.

Since someone had stopped him with a military token, he had no choice but to deal with the situation.

He took the military token from his waist and showed it to Xiao Ruyun. “I’m afraid you can’t give me any order.”

Suddenly, the military token radiated a purple glow and dazzled Xiao Yurun’s eyes.

Kang Yuanqiao and the others looked dazedly at Lu Ye from behind as emotions undulated in their hearts.

It wasn’t until Lu Ye shot into the sky and flew further into the Red Cloud Mountain compounds that Mu Zheng exclaimed, “A captain!?”

All of them were first lieutenants. It wasn’t that they weren’t powerful enough, It was just that they hadn’t accumulated enough battle points. Only Geng Wuwang had been a Real Lake Realm Master for a long time, so he almost had sufficient battle points to become a captain.

However, Geng Wuwang was a Ninth-Order Master while Lu Ye was a First-Order Master.

Xiao Yurun had wanted to make Lu Ye go back using his military rank, but much to his surprise, Lu Ye’s military rank was higher. As such, he couldn’t possibly give him an order. Lu Ye was kind enough not to make him take action together.

“The team leader is awake!” someone shouted. They recovered from the shock of finding out Lu Ye was a captain and surrounded Geng Wuwang.

Meanwhile, on the plaza of Red Cloud Mountain’s main peak, blood had formed into a river, and corpses were everywhere.

Ning Hu had killed these people.

There were over 20 Real Lake Realm Masters in Red Cloud Mountain, so it could be said that they had an excellent heritage. Nonetheless, most of the Real Lake Realm Masters didn’t stay in the Sect. Some were working for Bing Zhou Watch while some were wandering around in the outside world. Including An Mofeng and Ning Hu, only seven Real Lake Realm Masters stayed in the Sect.

Three of them had collapsed to the ground. Since they were soaked in blood, it was a wonder if they were dead or alive.

Including An Mofeng, all of them were injured. They had contended with Ning Hu earlier.

When Lu Ye arrived, he saw many cultivators of Red Cloud Mountain glowering at Ning Hu in shock. Presently, Ning Hu was holding a young man who was roughly in the Third-Order Cloud River Realm in his hand.

The person was about the same age as Lu Ye. With such cultivation at a young age, he certainly had a good aptitude. In a Tier-Four Sect like Red Cloud Mountain, he was undoubtedly a rising Star.

Everyone in Red Cloud Mountain felt that Ning Hu was an amiable person. Anyone could enter the valley where he usually cultivated his power. When these disciples had any questions about cultivation, they would go to him. Therefore, when he revealed his true colours all of a sudden, all the common disciples and the Elders in the Real Lake Realm couldn’t accept it.

The person before their eyes was starkly different from the Ning Hu they knew.

However, the dozens of corpses on the plaza showed that Ning Hu was indeed a mole from Thousand Demon Ridge.

When Lu Ye arrived in a hurry, Ning Hu turned to look at him as a hint of envy flashed across his gaze.

Comparisons were the root of jealousy. Although the young man in Ning Hu’s hand was about the same age as Lu Ye, his cultivation and temperament weren’t comparable to the latter’s.

He was frustrated that another Sect could nurture such a brilliant disciple but Red Cloud Mountain couldn’t.

Anyway, his target wasn’t Lu Ye, so he soon looked away. After all, a First-Order Real Lake Realm Master couldn’t turn the situation around.

Meanwhile, Lu Ye was doubtful as to why Ning Hu wasn’t running away.

His identity had been exposed, and he had admitted to it. Supposedly, he should run away at once. Otherwise, once the Ministry of Laws sent nearby Divine Ocean Realm Masters to this place, he wouldn’t be able to flee.

But instead of running for his life, he had come here to slaughter the Sect’s people. What was he trying to achieve?

Was it because he wanted to destroy Red Cloud Mountain, just like what he had said? Even if he could do that, it would take him a lot of time.

As the thoughts turned over in Lu Ye’s mind, he soon realised something.

Ning Hu had no intention of leaving this place alive. That was because even if he fled this place, he couldn’t get rid of the Grand Sky Coalition’s forces and leave Bing Zhou.

As for what his real intention was, Lu Ye had no idea. Thousand Demon Ridge had sent Ning Hu to this place when he was young, and he had been a mole for nearly a hundred years. Although he came from Thousand Demon Ridge, he grew up and cultivated in Red Cloud Mountain.

Therefore, it was hard to tell if he was loyal to Thousand Demon Ridge or the Grand Sky Coalition.

Just then, the sounds of breaking through the air were heard coming from behind. Lu Ye turned around and saw Geng Wuwang and the others coming over in a rush.

When Geng Wuwang saw that Lu Ye was alive and kicking, he let out a breath of relief.

The other members knew nothing about Lu Ye’s background. They thought Geng Wuwang had randomly enlisted his help on the streets.

Although Geng Wuwang knew little about Lu Ye as well, the latter was selected by Qian Wudang. If anything happened to Lu Ye, he couldn’t explain himself to Qian Wudang.
