Lu Ye hadn’t expected that his hunch would be proven right so soon.

He was wearing the golden lock that Nian Yuexian had given to him around his neck. His Divine Ocean had the protection of two spectral Flood Dragons. Besides that, he also had a Soul Soothing Tower to ensure that his Divine Ocean remained intact.

Even if he was dealing with Wan Zhanggang, he could ensure his Divine Soul’s integrity, not to mention that his opponent was only a Second-Order Divine Ocean Realm Master.

When impacted by Ning Hu’s Soul Attack, Lu Ye could feel the golden lock around his neck radiating an invisible barrier to stop the attack.

The effect was limited, though. The invisible attack headed straight to Lu Ye’s mind, but before it even reached his Divine Ocean, it was stopped by the two spectral Flood Dragons.

With the protection of Soul Soothing Tower, his Divine Ocean was unaffected as Lu Ye successfully brought down his saber.

Ning Hu didn’t expect this to happen. When the enforcement team from the Ministry of Laws arrived, he didn’t resist not because he wanted to die, nor was it because he was willing to be arrested. It was because he was able to counterattack.

If he were indeed a Real Lake Realm Master, he would’ve been rendered powerless by Six Elemental Spirit Locks and Dragon Binding Ropes.

However, he secretly ascended to the Divine Ocean Realm eight years ago, and he was now in the Second Order.

Six Elemental Spirit Locks could prohibit the use of Spiritual Power but not Divine Ego. As such, he could break free at any moment.

He just wanted to have a word with An Mofeng before falling out with them, which was why he had been cooperative.

All of them had underestimated him, but he had also underestimated Lu Ye. Who could’ve thought that a First-Order Real Lake Realm Master was unaffected by a Soul Attack?

One had to know that even Ninth-Order Real Lake Realm Masters like An Mofeng and Geng Wuwang fell into a dazed state upon impact.

There was a price to pay when one underestimated his opponent.

The Spiritual Power Shield he had built in a hurry couldn’t fend off Lu Ye’s mighty attack. When the attack struck, a cut was formed in Ning Hu’s chest.

His blood spurted out of his wound. Ning Hu groaned and broke free from the two Dragon Binding Ropes. As his Spiritual Power surged, he pushed out a fist.

The attack was insanely rapid. Despite his skinny figure, the old man launched an attack that would send any Real Lake Realm Master into a state of despair.

Lu Ye could see the fist phantom expanding before his eyes as a sense of fatality swept over him.

Despite that, he had never been more clear-headed as he wielded his saber. His movements were so abstruse that the Saber Light seemed to have a life of its own as it evolved into an intricate pattern.

Returning Moon! Once again, he used the Glyph that had helped him deal with Wan Zhanggang’s attack previously.

The Returning Moon was shattered. The Protection Glyphs he had built in a hurry were broken as well. The fist phantom struck the blade and then impacted Lu Ye’s figure.

He groaned in pain as some of his bones were fractured. He was sent flying away before he fell into the lake.

“Huh?” Ning Hu appeared puzzled again.

Despite their short exchange of moves, he was shocked by Lu Ye’s capabilities. Not only was Lu Ye unaffected by the Soul Attack, but he also survived the fist phantom.

He could feel the Returning Moon’s power earlier. The abstruse Glyph could reflect a part of his power to him and weaken his attack.

Then, Lu Ye seemed to have used a move that could protect him. That was why he was injured but not killed.

[Which Sect is he from? Disciples from top Sects are indeed different. Here in Red Cloud Mountain, we can never have such talented disciples.]

Although it was only a brief exchange of moves between the two, it had bought time for the others so that they could survive.

Otherwise, Ning Hu could’ve killed all of them in such a situation.

When Lu Ye fell into the lake, An Mofeng and Geng Wuwang also came to their senses.

An Mofeng was overwhelmed by grief. “You’re a Divine Ocean Realm Master!”

He had been hoping that it was all a misunderstanding, but when Ning Hu revealed his true cultivation, his wishful thinking was shattered.

If Ning Hu wasn’t a mole from Thousand Demon Ridge, he wouldn’t be hiding his true cultivation for so long. Moreover, he had already admitted to it.

“Come on, Sect Master An!” Geng Wuwang growled. His vitality and Spiritual Power surged around him. All his muscles bulged as he charged towards Ning Hu.

He didn’t expect that their target this time was a Divine Ocean Realm Master. This was beyond their capabilities to solve the problem as members of Team A3.

Real Lake Realm Masters like them couldn’t possibly capture a Divine Ocean Realm Master.

Geng Wuwang was afraid all of them were doomed.

Naturally, he wouldn’t abandon his companions and run for his life. Moreover, it was unrealistic to try running away from a Divine Ocean Realm Master.

Now, he could only join forces with An Mofeng in an attempt to kill Ning Hu.

“If you think you can rely on my useless Senior Brother, you’re wrong.” Ning Hu no longer appeared frail as his eyes became as penetrating as those of an eagle. “If Red Cloud Mountain were passed down to me back then, it would’ve become a Tier-Three Sect long ago instead of staying where it is now.”

The moment he finished speaking, he pushed out a fist and clashed with Geng Wuwang.

Despite having a burly figure, Geng Wuwang seemed to be the frail one instead. Upon impact, blood streamed out of his mouth. Ning Hu took his wrist and pulled him closer to himself before thumping his chest. His fluid movements showed that he was experienced in combat.

Following a crack, a lump formed on Geng Wuwang’s back. An air blast exploded as he sprayed out a mouthful of blood.

Considering the difference between their Realms, even if Ning Hu never activated his Divine Ego, he could still easily defeat Geng Wuwang, a Ninth-Order Real Lake Realm Master.

After he loosened his grip, a weakened Geng Wuwang plunged into the lake.

He then turned around and glared at An Mofeng. “Senior Brother, if you had joined forces with him, you might not have been able to defeat me, but you could’ve stalled for time. Why did you hesitate? Do you still want to keep on being naive? I’m so disappointed in you. Red Cloud Mountain will go South with you as the leader. In that case, I should probably destroy it first!”

With that, he shot into the sky and flew further into the Sect compounds.

An Mofeng was flabbergasted. As he recalled Ning Hu’s words and his temper when the man was younger, he quickly ran after him. “Stop! Even if you’re indeed a mole from Thousand Demon Ridge, you’ve been with us for decades. You can’t do that!”

“You’re still so obstinate. When will you wake up to reality? I’m going to destroy the Sect now. What’s the point of you trying to talk sense into me? Stop me if you can!”

The two of them soon left the place.

The tranquillity of this place was shattered. After they were gone, several battered figures shot out of the lake. They were the members of Team A3.

Following the Soul Attack, apart from the strongest Geng Wuwang and Lu Ye, who had some measures to protect his Divine Soul, the rest dropped into the lake. It wasn’t until now that they came to their senses.

Soaked to the bone, they landed on the ground and coughed violently.

A sensitive Mu Zheng looked around and became astounded. “Where are the team leader and Lu Ye?”

The duo was nowhere to be found. After they plunged into the lake earlier, they could feel the movements of powerful cultivators exchanging moves. Then, they saw that blood was spreading near the boat on the lake.

“Is the team leader…” Mu Zheng’s eyes reddened.

Kang Yuanqiao immediately got to his feet, ready to dive into the lake to search for them.

Just then, Amber, who had transformed into its original form, emerged from the lake with a splash. Lu Ye was atop Amber while the tiger held Geng Wuwang in its mouth.

“Team Leader!” they exclaimed and hurriedly went over.

Following an examination, they realised that Geng Wuwang was badly injured and had blacked out.

Although Lu Ye was conscious, he seemed frail.

“What should we do now?” Mu Zheng was flustered.

Initially, they thought it was an easy task, so they didn’t expect such a turn of events. The instant the enemy flared up, four out of six of them were defeated. It was indeed embarrassing for them.

“Let’s send a message back to the headquarters first,” Kang Yuanqiao said and fished out his military token. They were not responsible for such an incident. The intelligence unit was at fault as the information given to them was wrong.

In such a situation, they could only send a message to Grand Sky City, and some nearby Divine Ocean Realm Masters would handle this matter. However, that would take some time.

Repercussions of battles were felt, and people were heard shouting and shrieking in the distance. Ning Hu was trying to kill all of them.

Since his identity had been exposed, he couldn’t possibly stay in Bing Zhou any longer. Before he left, he wanted to do something major.

He didn’t kill the members of Team A3 not because he was magnanimous; it was because he was wary of the Ministry of Laws.

If he destroyed all of Team A3 right there and then, those from the Ministry of Laws would retaliate against him even if he managed to go back to Thousand Demon Ridge’s side. Once that happened, he could never be at ease again.

“We can’t stay here any longer. Let’s go.” Xiao Yurun donned a solemn expression.

Kang Yuanqiao shook his head. “If we leave just like this, we can’t explain ourselves.”

“What do you mean? The information we’ve received is wrong, so it’s not our fault. Are we going to stay here and wait for death?”

“If we join forces with the people of Red Cloud Mountain, we might be able to capture Ning Hu.”

Although a Divine Ocean Realm Master was indeed mighty, Ning Hu was only in the Second Order. All of them were Real Lake Realm Masters. If they joined forces with the Real Lake Realm Masters of Red Cloud Mountain, they could hold up Ning Hu even if they couldn’t defeat him. However, they had to be ready that they might lose their lives at any moment.

“It’s too late even if we go over now. Since Ning Hu has made a move, he’ll naturally target the Real Lake Realm Masters of Red Cloud Mountain first. He didn’t kill us because he’s wary of the Ministry of Laws. If we interfere in this matter, do you think he’ll have mercy on us? He even has the heart to kill the disciples of his Sect. There’s nothing in the world he doesn’t dare to do.”

“But we’re supposed to punish the bad people and ensure everyone’s safety. How can we turn a blind eye to what’s going on?”

They soon got into an argument.

If Geng Wuwang was conscious, they naturally had to obey his orders. However, since he had passed out, no one could lead the team.
