Geng Wuwang was relieved when he saw that Lu Ye was unharmed.

[I suppose the Commander has chosen him for a reason! Despite the perilous situation earlier, he still dared to come over here on his own. The other members just aren’t as bold as he is.]

“Senior Brother Geng,” Lu Ye called out.

Geng Wuwang nodded and looked at the battlefield before frowning.

He had the same doubt as Lu Ye in his heart. [Why isn’t Ning Hu running away?]

Before he could figure it out, Ning Hu was heard growling, “Senior Brother, haven’t you seen through it by now?”

Blood streamed out of An Mofeng’s mouth as he pressed his hand against his chest and said, “Regardless, release Zi Yan first. You watched him grow up!”

The young cultivator named Zi Yan, who was held captive by Ning Hu, said with difficulty, “Please don’t kill me, Great Elder!”

Ning Hu shook his head and glanced at An Mofeng bitterly. “I’m so disappointed in you, Senior Brother. Our aptitudes are roughly the same, but I’m a Divine Ocean Realm Master now. What about you? You’re still stuck in the Real Lake Realm. You’ve used more cultivation resources in the Sect, but I’m the more powerful one now. Do you know why?”

An Mofeng sighed. “The former Sect Master said that your aptitude was greater than mine.”

“That’s nonsense!” Ning Hu refuted him. “That old fart was foolish. He couldn’t even see that I was a mole from Thousand Demon Ridge, so how could he evaluate our aptitudes? Let me tell you why I’ve managed to ascend to the Divine Ocean Realm but you can’t!”

The next second, he took a step forward. “That’s because you always pin your hopes on others, but you’ve never thought about achieving that goal yourself. Generation after generation, you keep thinking one of the disciples will make it to the Divine Ocean Realm one day and bring Red Cloud Mountain to the rank of a Tier-Three Sect. But have you ever considered trying to achieve that goal yourself instead of relying on someone else? Don’t forget that you’re the Sect Master of Red Cloud Mountain!”

His growl made An Mofeng fall into a dazed state. Just like what Ning Hu said, he had always pinned his hopes on others in the past decades.

When he realised he couldn’t make it to the Divine Ocean Realm, he started hoping that one of the disciples could achieve that goal. He had lost the motivation to try to achieve a breakthrough.

Ning Hu continued, “Previously, you pinned your hopes on that brat surnamed Zhong, but in the end, he passed away not long after he made it to the Cloud River Realm. In this generation, you’re hoping Zi Yan will make it. He’s luckier than that brat surnamed Zhong as he’s now a Third-Order Cloud River Realm Master. However, how can you be sure that he won’t pass away prematurely? Even if he can make it to the Ninth-Order Real Lake Realm, how can you be certain he will ascend to the Divine Ocean Realm?”

“I can do that, Great Elder!” shouted the young man named Zi Yan. “I’m sure I can do that!”

“No one can be certain about the future,” Ning Hu said impassively. When he exerted more force on his hand, Zi Yan was instantly unable to speak anymore. Then, he glanced at An Mofeng. “Senior Brother, you’re capable of ascending to the Divine Ocean Realm, but you’ve lost the motivation to give it a shot.”

An Mofeng sighed. “What’s the point of saying all this now?”

“It’s not meaningless.” Ning Hu suddenly chuckled.

A premonition rose within An Mofeng as he asked in shock, “What are you trying to do?”

“I’m going to destroy your hopes and expectations so that you can only rely on yourself.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he ended his captive’s life. Following a crack, Zi Yan’s neck broke as the light went out of his eyes.

Although Ning Hu had killed several dozen people, no one had expected that he would end Zi Yan’s life.

That was because the two of them had always been on good terms. It could be said that Ning Hu had watched Zi Yan grow up and taught him everything. He could be considered the latter’s Honoured Master as well.

Despite that, Ning Hu never hesitated to kill him. His cruelty was terrifying.

Then, he threw Zi Yan’s corpse away and bellowed, “Senior Brother, you can only depend on yourself to save Red Cloud Mountain. You’d better hurry up!”

The next instant, he charged towards the place where most people gathered. He recklessly made a move as a Divine Ocean Realm Master. There was no way the disciples of Red Cloud Mountain could fend him off. Instantly, many of them were injured or killed.

“Stop it!” The Elders around An Mofeng were furious. Ignoring the huge gap between their powers, they pounced on Ning Hu in an attempt to stop him.

On the other hand, An Mofeng was rooted to the spot like a fool. His mind was a mess, and his eyes were turbid.

“Stop him!” As soon as Ning Hu made a move, Geng Wuwang gave an order and dashed forward. His team members followed him and joined the battle.

At that moment, Spiritual Powers surged on the battlefield.

Including the Elders of Red Cloud Mountain and the members of Team A3, there were a total of eight Real Lake Realm Masters. Considering their formation, they had the power to fight Ning Hu, albeit with some difficulty.

The gap between the two Major Realms was huge. Even though Lu Ye and the others had more people on their side, they were still at a disadvantage.

Fortunately, the members of Team A3 could work perfectly well together, which was why no one was killed. As Geng Wuwang, who was the mightiest among them, fully activated his power, he could hold up around 30 per cent of Ning Hu’s energy.

Lu Ye wasn’t familiar with Team A3’s tactics, so he decided not to join them. Since he was the weakest among them, he had been wandering around the battlefield since the fight started.

It wasn’t that he wanted to stay safe. It was just that he was waiting for a chance to use a particular treasure.

Ning Hu hadn’t activated his Divine Ego. It wasn’t that he couldn’t do that. Even though he was a Divine Ocean Realm Master, it would take him a lot of energy to activate his Divine Ego. Moreover, he was only a Second-Order Divine Ocean Realm Master. To break free from the entrapment previously, he had used his Divine Ego once. Naturally, he wouldn’t easily use his trump card again.

This gave the others a chance to be tangled up with him.

However, the battle couldn’t go on like this forever. In just several minutes, two of the Real Lake Realm Masters from Red Cloud Mountain collapsed to the ground. It was a wonder if they were dead or alive.

As for Team A3, blood was streaming out of Geng Wuwang’s seven orifices, Kang Yuanqiao’s face was pale, Xiao Ruyun’s aura was weak, and Shangguan Qiu had suffered a backlash of his own Spells, which caused his Spiritual Power to turn into a mess and almost rendered him powerless. Mu Zheng was in a worse state. After all, she was the weakest member other than Lu Ye.

Just now, she was struck by Ning Hu in the belly and sent flying away for dozens of metres. Presently, she was leaning against a wall and coughing out blood. She no longer had the strength to keep fighting.

On the other hand, Lu Ye, who was the weakest, was in the best condition.

First of all, he had been wandering around the battlefield, so he hadn’t fought Ning Hu head-on, which ensured that the other party couldn’t injure him. Secondly, the Returning Moon and Protection Glyphs could protect him from the repercussions of the battle.

Before the chance he had been waiting for even came, his team was already on the losing side.

Once Geng Wuwang and the others were so wounded that they were no longer able to counterattack, all of them would be doomed.

“Team Leader, if the reinforcements from the Ministry of Laws are not coming anytime soon, I’ll have to leave first,” Xiao Ruyun growled and fended off Ning Hu’s attacks with difficulty. A crack was heard coming from his arm, which showed that his bones had been fractured.

Although he had proposed retreating first and even used his military token to stop Lu Ye from coming over, he never held back his power during the battle. He had even warded off the repercussions of the battle for Lu Ye on several occasions.

“Just hold on for a while longer. They’re on the way,” Geng Wuwang replied.

His words made Ning Hu feel a sense of danger. He furrowed his brows, no longer wanting to be tangled up with them. The next second, he activated his Divine Ego, which turned into an invisible force and reached for Geng Wuwang.

The instant he launched a Soul Attack, Lu Ye’s eyes brightened. He had been waiting for this chance for a long time. Simultaneously, he activated his Divine Ego and shot out a transparent, petite sword with no hilt.

It was the Sword of Divine Destruction!

The treasure he had spent 26,000 battle points to purchase was the reason he had the confidence to contend with Ning Hu.

The Sword of Divine Destruction was able to destroy a person’s Divine Ego.

He had no idea how powerful the treasure truly was, and there was a huge gap between their powers. As such, he wouldn’t dare to use it rashly, and he had been waiting for a chance.

He wanted to wait for Ning Hu to activate his Divine Ego before he made a move.

The Sword of Divine Destruction turned into a ray of light and shot towards Ning Hu before shattering his Soul Attack.

Ning Hu grunted upon impact.

It was dangerous when two people fought with their Divine Egos. Although Divine Ocean Realm Masters had Divine Egos, they wouldn’t easily launch Soul Attacks under normal circumstances. That was because it might give the other party a chance to take advantage of them.

Ning Hu had never expected that the weakest cultivator on the battlefield had the means to deal with him. Following the attack, his Divine Ego was injured, and he felt a sharp pain in his mind.

His Soul Attack was targeted at Geng Wuwang. If he fully activated his power, Geng Wuwang would be rooted to the spot and might even lose his life, even though the latter was fairly powerful.

However, after Ning Hu’s Divine Ego was damaged, Geng Wuwang only felt slightly dizzy for a while before coming to his senses.

On the other hand, Ning Hu endured the pain in his mind and clenched the Sword of Divine Destruction.

Seeing that, Lu Ye felt cold all over his heart.

It was a treasure he had spent 26,000 battle points to purchase from the Hall of Battle Points that could be used against Divine Ocean Realm Masters. He had high hopes for the item, but he was surprised by the outcome.

Just as he thought the Sword of Divine Destruction didn’t live up to its name, a petite Sword Light suddenly shot out of the treasure.

The Sword Light penetrated Ning Hu’s forehead but didn’t injure him. Like an intangible thing, it disappeared after coming into contact with him.

Nevertheless, Ning Hu reacted as if he had been struck by a hammer. He tipped his head back and staggered backwards. After he uncontrollably released the Sword of Divine Destruction, a shriek escaped him.

The turn of events puzzled everyone, but they knew that it was thanks to the treasure Lu Ye had summoned.

Geng Wuwang was best at seizing chances. The moment Ning Hu staggered backwards, he charged forward and pushed out both fists as his Spiritual Power surged.

With a boom, Ning Hu’s withered body was sent flying away as he sprayed out a mouthful of blood in mid-air.

Many Sword Lights ran after him. They were the flying swords Kang Yuanqiao had cast.

At the same time, Lu Ye wielded his saber and cast Starburst.
