Xiao Xinghe had been treated unfairly, and Tan Shu even tried to get him killed in public. The main reason was that Xiao Xinghe was originally from the Crimson Blood Sect.

Now, Xiao Xinghe was a disciple of Blue Emperor City, but he was still having a hard time over there.

If Lu Ye, a disciple of the Crimson Blood Sect, went to Surging Waves Lake Pass, he would be treated even more harshly.

Therefore, even though he wanted to go to Surging Waves Lake Pass, he knew he couldn’t do that.

He couldn’t stay in Blue Flame Mountain Pass either. Just like what Nian Yuexian had said, even though the Crimson Blood Sect had many friends in Bing Zhou, they also had a lot of enemies. If the Divine Ocean Realm Masters who were going to take over the Pass held some grudges against Tang Yi Feng, life would be difficult for Lu Ye as well.

As such, even though Nian Yuexian had given him three options, only one was viable. He had to go to the Ministry of Laws and become Qian Wudang’s subordinate.

Fortunately, it wouldn’t be awkward for him to do so. He had worked with Team A3 and performed well previously. Moreover, he had secured a deal to make Explosive Fire Spirit Stones for them. If he went to the Ministry of Laws, Qian Wudang would treasure him.

After making up his mind, Lu Ye stopped thinking about it.

Suddenly, he felt a vibration coming from his Battlefield Imprint. He took a look and discovered that he had received the battle points for making Explosive Fire Spirit Stones. He had earned 300,000 battle points by making 60,000 Explosive Fire Spirit Stones.

Now, he had around 520,000 battle points, which was a record high.

Although it was easy for him to earn battle points, he also needed to use them a lot. Spending on Golden Amulets to cultivate his power was a long-term expenditure. Also, he had his eye on many treasures in the Hall of Battle Points. All those items required a lot of battle points.

After he ascended to the Third-Order Real Lake Realm previously, he felt that his power had increased too rapidly. Therefore, he didn’t spend the last two months cultivating his power as he was worried that his foundation would become unstable.

Having spent the last two months solidifying his foundation, he was supposed to continue increasing his power. Moreover, he had a large number of battle points in possession now.

If he wanted to work for the Ministry of Laws, it would be better for him to become more powerful. Since he was a Third-Order Real Lake Realm Master now, the Fourth Order would be the next for him.

There were a total of four Major Realms. In every one of them, the Fourth Order and the Seventh Order were the most challenging to ascend to. Once they managed to achieve an ascension, the increase in power would be significant.

That was why Lu Ye shocked the cultivators on both sides when he previously killed Tan Shu, a Seventh-Order Real Lake Realm Master.

Even though he had defeated Zhang Youlin, a Sixth-Order Sword Cultivator, nobody believed he could win the fight against Tan Shu. Much to everyone’s surprise, not only did Lu Ye win, but it also happened in a short time.

After arriving at the Sanctum of Providence, Lu Ye connected his Divine Soul to the Hall of Battle Points. As usual, he fed some food to the two Flood Dragons and entered the hall.

This time, he purchased 20 Golden Amulets at once.

Anyone would be shocked if they saw him buying so many Golden Amulets. Jiu Zhou cultivators wouldn’t purchase so many Golden Amulets at once from the Vault of Providence. They would usually purchase one every time. After all, it wasn’t easy for them to earn battle points.

Lu Ye spent the next few days cultivating his power. Three days later, he arrived at Nian Yuexian’s residence.

“Have you made up your mind?” she asked.

“Yes. I’d like to join the Ministry of Laws. Please help me with that, Madam.”

Nian Yuexian wasn’t surprised as she had expected this outcome. She didn’t even need to recommend Lu Ye to Qian Wudang. When Lu Ye was in Grand Sky City back then, Qian Wudang contacted Nian Yuexian to get him transferred to the Ministry of Laws. At that time, he felt that Lu Ye had great potential, so the latter shouldn’t waste his time in Blue Flame Mountain Pass where nothing much was going on.

The following incidents made him realise how valuable Lu Ye truly was, especially when it came to the making of Explosive Fire Spirit Stones.

It could be said that Lu Ye alone was more valuable than several Divine Ocean Realm Masters combined in this regard.

Naturally, Qian Wudang would be more than happy that Lu Ye was willing to join the Ministry of Laws.

“Alright. You can go now. I’ve told Qian Wudang about it.”

“Yes,” Lu Ye replied firmly. “I wish you all the best and hope that your power will achieve a greater height after the retreat.”

He then saluted the woman and turned around, ready to leave.

“Lu Ye!” Nian Yuexian suddenly called out to him from behind.

Lu Ye turned around and asked, “Is there anything else, Madam?”

Nian Yuexian’s lips squirmed for a bit before she said, “Be careful. Whatever you come across in the future, you have to ensure your own safety.”

With a solemn expression, Lu Ye nodded. “Thanks for being concerned about me, Madam.”

He then activated his Spiritual Power and stomped his feet on the ground before shooting into the sky. Soon enough, he turned into a red light.

Nian Yuexian shuffled towards the door and looked up. It wasn’t until Lu Ye was out of sight that she pocketed her gaze.

After Lu Ye was gone, she had to stay there and keep waiting. It would take those from Grand Sky City some time to send some people over. At the very least, she had to wait for everything to be settled in Blue Flame Mountain Pass before she could leave.

The entire world seemed to have fallen silent. This prompted Nian Yuexian to frown.

She had been on her own in the Pass for the past decades, so she was used to being alone. When Lu Ye was still around, they rarely came into contact with each other. The entire Blue Flame Mountain Pass was usually quiet.

Nevertheless, after Lu Ye was gone, she discovered that the loneliness she felt now was different from the quietness she had experienced previously. In just a few months, she had become emotionally affected.

Meanwhile, Lu Ye was heading towards Grand Sky City at full speed. He didn’t expect that he would only stay in Blue Flame Mountain Pass for such a short time. It had only been four to five months since his arrival. During this period, he had spent around two months in the Sword and Tool Sect.

In other words, he had only stayed in Blue Flame Mountain Pass for roughly three months.

This couldn’t be helped, as Nian Yuexian had to go on a retreat for a long time. As a Third-Order Real Lake Realm Master, he didn’t have the right to be in charge of the Pass.

He didn’t know who the new Pass Leaders would be or whether they would make things difficult for him. Rather than resigning himself to fate, he decided to walk down a safe path.

At the very least, he had come into contact with Qian Wudang before, so he knew the latter had no ill intentions against him.

It had been peaceful throughout the entire journey. Finally, he arrived at Grand Sky City.

Upon entering the city, he headed straight to the Ministry of Laws. He only entered the hall with his weapon after getting permission.

Qian Wudang was seated behind a desk, seemingly dealing with work. Upon registering Lu Ye’s presence, he smiled and pointed at a nearby chair. “Have a seat.”

Lu Ye obliged and took a seat. Then, he closed his eyes to get some rest. A moment later, someone entered the hall with a pot of tea, and he caught a whiff of her bodily fragrance.

He opened his eyes and discovered that the person presenting tea was the beautiful female cultivator he had seen in this hall previously. As their eyes met, Lu Ye nodded slightly while the woman smiled with her mouth covered.

She didn’t leave after pouring tea for them. Instead, she stood behind Qian Wudang and started massaging his shoulders, looking loving and gentle. Sometimes, she would lean close to Qian Wudang and look at the documents with him. They seemed intimate.

Lu Ye sipped his tea and turned his head to look outside. It seemed to him that Qian Wudang was pretty licentious.

Although he didn’t know who the woman was, he speculated that she was probably Qian Wudang’s Wife or lover. Moreover, he doted on her very much. That was why Qian Wudang, the Commander of the Ministry of Laws, let her do whatever she wanted in such an official setting.

The woman didn’t look old. However, cultivators usually looked much younger than they actually were. For example, Shui Yuan and Nian Yuexian looked like they were in their early twenties, but they were much older than that.

As such, even though this woman looked young, she had probably lived for many decades.

As for her cultivation, Lu Ye couldn’t tell how powerful she truly was since she never activated her Spiritual Power.

“Alright. You may leave now,” Qian Wudang suddenly said. He felt that he had to remain authoritative in front of Lu Ye. After all, he would be Lu Ye’s higher-up from now on.

The woman pouted, apparently reluctant to leave. She took Qian Wudang’s arm and said coquettishly, “No…”

This was giving Lu Ye goosebumps. Qian Wudang placated her and promised that he would look for her later. Only then was the woman willing to leave.

She was well-mannered, so she saluted Lu Ye before she took her leave.

After the woman was gone, Qian Wudang beckoned to Lu Ye, who rose to his feet and stood in front of the desk before cupping his fists. “Lu Ye of the Crimson Blood Sect is here to report for duty!”

Qian Wudang leaned against the chair and sized up Lu Ye with satisfaction. “I had wanted to get you transferred to the Ministry of Laws, but Nian Yuexian didn’t agree to it, so there was nothing much I could do. Since she has some matters to attend to, she has decided to send you to me. Well, I’ve finally achieved my goal at the very least.”

After a pause, he asked, “Do you know what has happened to Nian Yuexian? She has never left Blue Flame Mountain Pass over the years, but she has suddenly resigned from her duty. I’m surprised by that.”

Lu Ye furrowed his brows. Qian Wudang’s words suggested that he had no idea Nian Yuexian was going on a retreat. Since the woman never told him about it, Lu Ye naturally wouldn’t do that either. He only said, “I have no idea. I rarely came into contact with the Pass Leader at the Pass, and she wouldn’t tell me whatever she wanted to do.”

Qian Wudang nodded. “That’s normal.” A Divine Ocean Realm Master certainly wouldn’t tell a Real Lake Realm Master what they planned on doing, especially when that person was Nian Yuexian.

“Anyway, you’re part of the Ministry of Laws now. I want you to focus on making Explosive Fire Spirit Stones from now on. Are you fine with that?”

“No,” Lu Ye instantly replied.

“Oh?” A smile played on Qian Wudang’s lips. “Tell me why you’re not fine with the arrangement, but it’s up to me whether to agree to your suggestion.”

“It doesn’t take me much effort to make Explosive Fire Spirit Stones. I have the confidence to complete the task on time while carrying out the duties for the Ministry of Laws. Therefore, I don’t need to spend all my time doing that.”

Upon hearing that, Qian Wudang asked, “Do you want to join the Law Enforcement Hall and go out there to carry out the tasks?”

“Yes.”

“Tell me the reason.”

After giving it some thought, Lu Ye replied, “After I started cultivating, I spent most of my time on the Spirit Creek Battlefield and the Cloud River Battlefield. However, they’re only a small part of Jiu Zhou. Now that I’m a Real Lake Realm Master, I’d like to experience the charm of Jiu Zhou. I don’t want to be stuck in any place. Please grant my wish, Sir.”

“That’s a valid reason.” Qian Wudang touched his chin. “Given your cultivation and your previous performance, there won’t be a problem for you to join the Law Enforcement Hall. However, you have to think it through as those tasks carry some risks. If you focus on making Explosive Fire Spirit Stones, your safety will be ensured at the very least.”
