Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 436: A Battle That Shook the World!

In everyoneʼs field of vision, they saw the arbitrator and the fellow named Moro, who was suspected to be a Rakshasa, instantly engage in battle.

This was absolutely not a fight that ordinary players like them could hope to interfere with!

Dense sounds of impact were unceasing, and the movements of the two were so fast they left afterimages!

”Is this the level of combat between high-tier fighters in the Black Marsh world? To reach this level relying solely on physical strength... this world really is as deep and treacherous as they say!”

”I thought the one with the bone staff was a mage-type or something, after all, he casually dispelled our confusion status...”

”Donʼt be ridiculous, where are there any pure mages in the Black Marsh world? Even those who know a bit of witchcraft are fierce in close combat, one fiercer than the next! Not to mention this guy is an elite from one of the Blood Kingdomʼs Ten Great Tribes!”

The players exclaimed in astonishment.

One of the combatants was a Rakshasa, a race that had ”vanished for a thousand years,” and the other was a top-tier elite and high-ranking member of the current Ten Great Tribes. Both could absolutely be called ”high-tier” combat power!

And it wasnʼt just the players;even the native Barbarians and Blood Rakshasas were exclaiming in awe.

”Truly terrifying strength and speed.”
”What a spectacularly pleasing fight to watch! We first-time participants in the Glory Festival are still far, far behind!”

”I must strive towards this level too...”

Although some of these natives were somewhat disheartened, after the initial blow, what burned within them more was a blazing fighting spirit.

The inhabitants of the Black Marsh world never feared others being stronger than themselves. Seeing someone far, far more powerful only made them yearn for that strength!

Just like at this moment... these severely wounded people in the Healing Station, after being forced to move and fight due to the ”confusion” status, were feeling a bit of ”relapse” in their injuries. Even though they had just been untied, most were lying half-dead on the ground.

But now, faced with this high-level battle right before their eyes...

Even if they couldnʼt see it clearly, they were all struggling to get up and watch.

Those who could move their upper bodies raised themselves halfway;those whose necks still worked strained to lift their heads.

Missing a battle between such powerhouses would be a tremendous regret for any resident of the Black Marsh world!

The sounds generated by the two fighters clashing grew denser and denser, with continuous crackling sounds of displaced air and the thuds of limbs colliding!

*Thwack, thwack, thwack!*

At this moment, Fern also reacted.

”Wait... these two, they even still have strength to spare!”

As shocking as the current scene was—this exchange of blows and parries at a speed and force that blurred their movements yet allowed the sounds to be clearly heard—it still didnʼt seem to be the full extent of their power!

Hearing Fernʼs subconscious exclamation, several players and natives standing near her were momentarily stunned, realizing what she meant.

”Yeah, this Rakshasa... heʼs even still maintaining a human form!”

”And neither of them is using a weapon?!”

Although their hands and feet were moving so fast they became blurs, judging by the distance between the two and their indistinct silhouettes, both had their weapons sheathed.

The bone staff and the spear were both hanging on their backs. They were currently engaged in hand-to-hand combat!

The continuous, dense sounds of impact were also from flesh striking against flesh—even though it sounded incredibly hard, like metal clashing against stone.

But... that was the collision of flesh and blood.

Itʼs just that both sets of flesh and blood were far too powerful!

In other words, the exchange so far was still just the probing phase for both sides!

And this level of probing was already pushing the limits of what the onlookers could perceive.

Right now, the people on the scene couldnʼt even tell who had the upper hand and who was at a disadvantage.

”No wonder he dared to admit his Rakshasa identity.”

Regarding Moroʼs earlier voluntary admission of his Rakshasa identity, Fern had actually felt a bit of displeasure, a sense of her ”plans being disrupted.”

After all, although Fernʼs goal was to continue utilizing Moroʼs combat power to help her clear the stage, and ideally even secure some assistance for her future visits to the Black Marsh world...

Fern had to admit to herself that her plan was indeed meant to help Moro—to hide his Rakshasa identity, delay his exposure, and ideally let the name ”Rakshasa” gain fame while Moro himself remained hidden.

But she never expected Moro, driven by some kind of stubborn ”pride,” would just lay his cards on the table like that against the other party!

Although Fern had some inkling and wouldnʼt be overly angry, she still felt an uncomfortable sense of things ”slipping out of control.”

Any intelligent person, especially clever ones like Fern who enjoyed outsmarting others, possessed a strong desire for control. Feeling displeased when plans were disrupted was only natural.

But now, that sliver of displeasure vanished without a trace.

”Although I knew he was holding back a bit during the hunt, I never imagined he was holding back *this* much...”

Watching the two actually accelerate their exchange, Fern sighed with emotion again.

Although the situationʼs development had deviated from her plan...

Fern believed she herself was the main one responsible.

After all, she never expected this ”Rakshasa” Moro to be this formidable.

While engaging an enemy on their home turf is usually a bad decision, if you can win, then thereʼs really nothing to say.

Clearly...

Moro at least had a decent chance of winning.

As more and more people focused on the battle, the arbitrator seemed to finally lose patience.

”Rakshasa, donʼt think this is still your era!”

The arbitrator roared with soaring battle intent, drawing the bone staff from his back for the first time.

But this shout also served to answer the question that had been puzzling the onlookers who couldnʼt tell who had the advantage.

It seemed the arbitrator had suffered a minor setback!

The other party, who held the upper hand, remained silent, merely snorting coldly as he also drew the spear from his back.

”Come then, letʼs see what youʼre made of!”

The aura and killing intent between the two surged once more.

However, the arbitrator wasnʼt in a hurry to attack.

”Rakshasa, this place is too cramped, no room to fight properly!”

He said, retreating towards the entrance.

”Arenʼt you afraid Iʼll run?”

”Youʼre strong. Even if the rumors about ʼRakshasasʼ are wrong, you donʼt seem like a cowardly sort. Itʼs you who should worry—donʼt be afraid if I call for backup!”

”Hah, I donʼt believe you accumulated this level of strength by constantly fighting outnumbered either.”

Although an aura of a fight to the death had already arisen between them, their words seemed to convey an even greater appreciation for each other!

A moment later, both roared simultaneously.

”Come!”

”Letʼs go!”

With that, they simultaneously charged out through the entrance of the Healing Station tent.

Everyone was stunned for a second, then hurriedly gave chase.

But by the time they reacted and reached outside, even Fern, who was the fastest, couldnʼt see where the two had gone!

”What a blood-pumping yet baffling turn of events,” Fern mused. ”But... thatʼs very much the Black Marsh world for you.”

”Then I wish you victory, Moro.”

She quickly accepted this fact as well, regaining her composure.
