Chapter 39: The Tycoon Appears! A Fair Price!

The masked fisherman-hatted manʼs loud voice quickly drew everyoneʼs attention.

”Someoneʼs selling weapon-type items over there!”

”Looks like telescopic batons...”

”Only 10 points each?! And cash payment accepted?!”

”Holy shit! What kind of philanthropist is this?!”

Instantly, players who had been browsing other stalls rushed over.

The other stall owners who lost customers didnʼt show any displeasure toward Lin Yu.

Because they all quickly packed up their stalls and ran toward Lin Yuʼs direction too!

Weapon items priced at just over ten points - youʼd regret missing this opportunity!

Within moments, over a dozen people crowded around Lin Yuʼs stall.
”Hey kid, Iʼll give you 15 points, cash payment!”

”17 points from me!”

”Iʼll also pay 17 per baton... I want them all!”

”Who doesnʼt want them all? Damn it!”

Lin Yu looked at the playersʼ burning gazes and realized heʼd underestimated the allure of ʼweaponsʼ.

And these were just ordinary telescopic batons, not even proper blades!

The exchange rate was 1 credit point to 100 RMB!

In other words, 10 points equaled 1000 RMB!

The batons Lin Yu bought from the shopping street werenʼt top quality, originally priced at 229 RMB each.

He bought fifteen at once, haggled the price down to 120 each, spending only 1800 RMB total!

Of course, this 1800 RMB was nearly all of Lin Yuʼs savings at the time.

Lin Zhao hated seeing Lin Yu overworked with rehearsals and studies, refusing to let him take part-time jobs; Lin Yu also hated burdening Lin Zhao, unwilling to ask for more allowance.

Considering the low purchase price, Lin Yu had already set the selling price as high as he dared knowing how scarce ʼweaponʼ items were!

But he never expected...

”Nearly ten times the price, and itʼs still considered too low?!”

”This is just an ordinary telescopic baton...”

But upon reflection, it made sense.

After all, having a baton in the Death Game might save your life at critical moments!

These people who experienced the Death Game...

None would think spending a few thousand for life insurance wasnʼt worth it!

Soon, someone exclaimed in surprise.

”Hey wait... heʼs selling potions too!”

”Let me see—ʼAgility Potionʼ, holy shit! These effects are insane!”

”Didnʼt expect youʼd have such good stuff, boss!”

[Agility Potion: After consumption, increases playerʼs reaction speed and mobility by 200% for one hour.]

Because the previous ʼFraudʼ effect on Chen Zhuo worked, all these ʼfakeʼ items had now become ʼrealʼ!

So when players picked them up, the gameʼs official blood-text descriptions naturally appeared.

Their eyes shone as they looked at Lin Yu.

”Boss, how much for these potions?”

Having learned from the baton pricing, Lin Yu—who originally planned to sell the potions at 3 points (300 RMB) each—hesitated.

He rubbed his chin and tentatively said: ”These are also... 10 points?”

Indeed, the 10-point price didnʼt deter them but made them even more excited.

”Iʼll take all of these too!”

”Fuck, stop hogging everything, selfish much?”

”Boss, Iʼll pay 15 points per potion!”

As the commotion grew louder, they almost started fighting at Lin Yuʼs stall.

Then crisp clinking sounds came from upstairs.

”Clink! Clink!”

Lin Yu looked up to see the well-dressed Harmony Brings Wealth man from before descending the stairs, still wearing his elegant suit.

The sounds came from him tapping two gold ingots together.

He said loudly: ”Quite lively here! Seems someone brought good stuff!”

The previously heated arguments instantly quieted as everyone turned to look at him.

”Tycoon!”

”Itʼs Tycoon!”

”Youʼre here, Brother Tycoon.”

Several familiar faces in the crowd greeted him respectfully.

Watching this, Lin Yu understood.

Indeed, the Harmony Brings Wealth man he met yesterday was the ʼTycoonʼ mentioned on the forum!

And he seemed quite prestigious among these players.

After reading the forum guideʼs advice to ”avoid revealing your identity,” Lin Yu had regretted exchanging contacts with this man yesterday.

Though heʼd been cautious, using a burner account... it still increased his exposure risk.

But seeing how respected the man was, Lin Yu felt slightly relieved.

Though...

This ”relief” didnʼt completely eliminate his wariness.

The man addressed as ʼTycoonʼ approached Lin Yuʼs table.

”So these are the treasures causing such a stir?”

”Just ordinary batons... Hmm? These potions are interesting!”

”But hardly worth such frenzy!”

Tycoon then looked at the crowd.

The fisherman-hatted man smiled and explained: ”Tycoon, the items are ordinary, but... heʼs selling them way below market price! And in such quantity!”

”Oh?”

Tycoon turned to Lin Yu, pretending not to recognize him: ”Whatʼre your prices for these?”

”My initial pricing was 10 points each, with discounts for bulk or cash purchases.”

Lin Yu answered truthfully.

Tycoon shook his head, fiddling with his phone: ”Thatʼs too low... Howʼd you acquire so many items at once? Not easy.”

”Seeing theyʼre identical, probably from one dungeon—did your group collect them together? Or do you represent an organization?”

As Lin Yu prepared to respond,

Tycoon suddenly pointed at his phone screen.

Understanding, Lin Yu discreetly checked his phone underneath the table.

”Newbie, however you got so many items, youʼd better claim youʼre backed by an ʼorganizationʼ!”

Lin Yuʼs heart skipped a beat. He looked up gratefully at Tycoon and nodded slightly.

”I do represent an organization, though I canʼt disclose its name... Our leader urgently needs funds, so weʼre selling accumulated items... Hence my preference for cash payments.”

Lin Yu said calmly.

Tycoon pretended to ponder, then said:

”In that case, why not sell everything to me?”

”Iʼll buy at 25 points per baton, 20 per potion—slightly below market price, but Iʼll pay entirely in cash. Fair deal.”

He then addressed the crowd:

”After midnight tonight, Iʼll list these on the forumʼs marketplace at the same price—no markup. First come first served, one item per account.”

Hearing this, the players voiced no objections.

”If you say so...”

”Alright, weʼll do as you suggest!”

Tycoon turned back to Lin Yu: ”Howʼs this arrangement?”

”If your organization has items to sell in Jiangcheng, consider working with me—Tycoon—in the future. Deal?”

Lin Yu had no reason to refuse.

”Agreed, Tycoon—weʼll do as you suggest!”
