Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

Within a grand church in Nevada, spotty lights flickered.

Embedded in the walls of the church were bronze lamps, casting a soft glow that faintly illuminated the entire church’s outline. A man in a trench coat with a hood knelt before a statue.

The statue, about three meters tall and completely white, had curly hair and was carved with delicate tenderness. In its left hand, it held two golden keys, and in its right, a scroll of decree. Its gaze was slightly upwards, its expression solemn as if it were looking towards the path to Heaven.

Almost everyone overseas recognized this sculpture; it was Jesus, the Son of God from Western mythology.

”Lord, I have always had faith in You. I hope You can take me to Heaven, to a realm of true freedom and eternal life,” the kneeling man devoutly worshiped.

At this moment, several black sedans with headlights flashing sped down the road outside the church and came to a stop at the entrance.

A group of men in black suits quickly got out of the cars, numbering around a dozen or so.

”Boss, Francis seems to be here,” said a bodyguard in black attire, respectfully addressing the man before him.

He was a slightly portly man, mid-forties to fifties in age, bald-headed with a protruding belly, short in stature, someone who would go unnoticed in a crowd.

But no one dared to overlook his presence. This man was a member of the great Mafia family, the Jon family, none other than Jon Ball, a boss figure of the American Mafia.

”This Francis, seems to have been a bit out of my control recently,” Jon said, his eyes narrowing with a hint of frost, and then he walked toward the church with a group of bodyguards in tow.

The footsteps that echoed in the empty and quiet church now sounded exceptionally crisp.

It was only now that the man in the black trench coat slowly stood up, turned his head, and looked at Jon entering the church. He placed his right hand over his left chest and bowed, ”Respected Mr. Jon, what brings you here?”

Jon stared at Francis and said with a cold laugh, ”Francis, you’ve been acting a bit strange lately. Why did you come here when I asked you to stay at headquarters?”

Francis slowly straightened up; he was about one meter eighty tall, with an upright and sharp figure, his face cloaked in his hood appeared somewhat sinister and bizarre. After a long silence, he finally said, ”Mr. Jon, I am not your slave. I hope you understand.”

Jon frowned slightly, his expression turning a little strange, ”Francis, don’t forget who cultivated you, who made you into a superpower user. Moreover, your parents are in my hands. If you don’t listen to me, I can’t guarantee their safety.”

”Mr. Jon, have you forgotten why I followed you in the first place?” Francis’s gaze flashed a barely detectable red spark.

”Initially, you raped and killed my sister right before my eyes which caused me to go mad and lose my memory. But now, I have remembered everything,” Francis said slowly, his voice bursting with a bone-chilling coldness.

For a moment, the temperature in the entire church seemed to drop by several degrees, instilling a piercing cold that bit to the bone.

The bodyguards who followed Jon moved quickly, drawing pistols from their chests. Their dark muzzles pointed at Francis’s head—ready to fire and kill the man at a word from Jon.

Jon’s face turned somewhat pale, his expression stiff as he said, ”You, you actually remember what happened before?”

Francis spoke slowly, ”Ten years ago, when you passed by my house and saw my sister, who was still in high school, you were filled with lust and raped and killed her. At that time, I crazily wanted to kill you, but who knew that in my agitation, I would faint from anger, and then I lost my memory. You kept me by your side because you discovered I had the potential to become a Superpower User.”

Jon said coldly, ”It’s good that you know. Your sister’s incident has been over for ten years. You should have forgotten about it long ago. Aren’t you satisfied with what I gave you? Wealth, women, and even status and power you’ve already used. Moreover, I have ensured your parents live well.”

”Are you threatening me, mortal?”

Suddenly, a fierce look appeared on Francis’s face, his eyes had turned completely blood-red.

”Francis, what do you want to do?” Seeing this, Jon was clearly a bit scared and stepped back, ”Don’t forget that everything you have now was given by me. Moreover, you can’t imagine the power of the Mafia. If you really want to betray me, think carefully.”

”Poor Mr. Jon, you still don’t know the true strength of a Superpower User, do you? In my eyes, you are as laughable as a bunch of ants,” Francis said, shaking his head with a look of disdain on his face.

”Bang bang bang!”

Suddenly, the bodyguards standing behind Jon opened fire, and the sound of the gunshots echoed throughout the church.

The bullets burst out of the barrel, piercing the air at a velocity of 400 meters per second, leaving behind traces of air turbulence.

But, in the next instant, Jon and a group of bodyguards were stunned in place.

A black vortex appeared in front of Francis, and as the bullets entered it, they vanished without a trace, as though the black hole was a gateway to Hell.

”What kind of superpower is this?” Jon’s eyes widened in disbelief.

With a casual wave of his hand, Francis summoned several black spheres around him, which radiated an eerie aura. The black spheres suddenly struck several bodyguards, who screamed in agony and fell to the ground.

The black spheres instantly turned into a liquid-like substance, gradually covering and devolving the body of each bodyguard until they vanished like air, leaving only a few floating black liquescent orbs.

”Francis, you... you really want to betray me? You once swore loyalty to me for life, and you would have the Mafia’s protection. If you betray me now, the Mafia will not let you go,” Jon said loudly, his face now pale as paper.

”Heh, Mr. Jon, do you believe that a god would be loyal to a mortal?” Francis scoffed.

As he spoke, several black orbs flew to Jon’s side and turned into chains that wrapped around and bound his limbs. Jon then watched in horror as his arms and legs began to decay, his bones desolate and withering.

The church was filled with Jon’s agonized screams, sending chills down the spine.

”Mr. Jon, from now on, I will take control of the American Mafia. As for the matter of dealing with the Tang Sect that I promised you, I will fulfill that as well,” Francis said indifferently, but the corner of his mouth curled up into a very strange smile.

Jon was gradually consumed by the black spheres, leaving only a skeleton that crumbled to the ground like fallen building blocks. ”Since Heaven won’t take me, then I shall fall to Hell.” A red radiance blossomed in Francis’s eyes before he lifted his hand and crushed a church statue to dust, ”My soul has already descended into Hell, and the only one I am loyal to now is the great Lord Lucifer.”
