Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

Lin Mo frowned slightly. He didn’t have a good impression of Huo Nan and Song Min, after all, those two women had even thought of using him yesterday, but he didn’t care much about such a little ”grudge.”

”You’re talking about Su Xinhe? She was just a classmate from my high school in China,” Lin Mo said indifferently.

Even though Lin Mo spoke very casually, as if he were talking about a trivial matter, women have keen minds and still perceived some subtle changes in Lin Mo’s tone and expression.

Huo Nan’s slender eyebrows knitted together as she hesitated, ”Is it really that simple, just ordinary classmates?”

”What else could it be?” Lin Mo looked up, his eyes as dark as the night, gazing directly at Huo Nan.

Huo Nan was the president of Baoli Company, revered as a Heavenly Beauty both at school and in the workplace. Usually, people spoke to her with trepidation, but now facing Lin Mo’s gaze, she felt an inherent dread coming from deep within, inadvertently casting her eyes downward, not daring to meet his stare.

”I... I was just overthinking it,” Huo Nan stammered.

Song Min looked at Huo Nan with surprise. In her eyes, Huo Nan was the president of Baoli Company, extremely proud at heart, and even possessing confident talent and beauty. This was the first time Song Min saw ’nervousness’ in Huo Nan, just like the employees at the bottom of the company when they saw her.

Song Min then looked at Lin Mo and also briefly froze. Her delicate body trembled slightly, feeling a cold oppressive sensation coming from Lin Mo as well.

”Lin Mo, Mr. Huo didn’t mean anything else, it’s just that yesterday it seemed like your relationship with Miss Su was not as simple as that of classmates, so we asked a few more questions,” Song Min said with a smile, but her facial expression was equally rigid.

Lin Mo’s pupils briefly flashed an imperceptible purple glint as he suddenly sighed, ”She was my first love, but that’s a long time ago.”

Hearing Lin Mo’s words, both Huo Nan and Song Min showed surprised expressions and covered their lips with their hands.

Lin Mo looked at the two and suddenly felt some curiosity about Su Xinhe’s current status, wondering why she was so revered and even feared by many of Seattle’s high society.

”By the way, who exactly is Su Xinhe? Why do all those people in Seattle seem to be so afraid of her?”

Huo Nan hesitated for a moment and frowned, ”Actually, we also don’t know Miss Su’s true identity. However, when I heard some upper-class people in Seattle talking about her, they all looked scared, so she must have quite the background.”

”Perhaps she has something to do with the Freemasons. I overheard this term by chance last time,” Song Min suddenly remembered something and blurted out.

”Freemasonry?”

Song Min explained to Lin Mo for a while.

”So that’s it.” Freemasonry is one of the most mysterious organizations in the world, rumored to have originated in the eighteenth century in the United Kingdom. Back then, a group of elites enrolled in universities selected the finest among them to form the Freemasonry. Over time, it developed into a legendary organization.

Members of the Freemasonry were almost all offspring of the superpowers from Western countries, and it was even claimed in the book ”Currency War” that the Freemasonry controlled fifty percent of the global economy, iterating their influence on the presidential elections of the European Union and Western countries, even going so far as to initiate wars.

Rumors had it that Freemasonry even supported several presidents of the major countries of the time.

However, all these were just rumors among the public, and the specifics were beyond the knowledge of ordinary people. Yet, there is rarely smoke without fire—Freemasonry might very well exist, but as for the extent of its power, Lin Mo was still unable to know.

”However, considering Su Xinhe’s attitude towards me, and the powerful confidence she exuded, could she really be connected to Freemasonry?”

Lin Mo pondered this in his heart.

Huo Nan said, ”As far as I know, the legendary Freemasonry is nothing more than a social club organization in schools, simply initiated by offspring of societal elites, and recruits some people with special talents to join the club, facilitating their future development, akin to the feeling of the internal Crown Prince Party.”

”All are but rumors, who knows what’s true and what’s not, but none of this has anything to do with me,” Lin Mo said indifferently.

Suddenly, Huo Nan said with a chuckle, ”However, you really saved us yesterday, helping the company secure that order. Headquarters has been notified of our completed task, and they will be sending someone over tonight for a small celebration banquet, Lin Mo. You have made a great contribution, so you must attend.”

”I will go if I have time,” Lin Mo replied helplessly.

If not for needing Baoli Company as a cover, Lin Mo had no desire to waste his time on such trivial matters.

”Anyway, thank you. I also owe you an apology for last night’s incident,” Huo Nan said, and actually gave a deep bow.

Lin Mo took an extra glance at her, a glimmer of appreciation flashing in his eyes.

Huo Nan was young and beautiful, holding a high position, truly a Heavenly Beauty who was successful in society. She should be extremely proud inside, but her ability to bend and stand tall hinted at future achievements.

For sure, Huo Nan was referring to Lin Mo acting as her shield the previous night, which nearly brought disaster upon him.

Eight o’clock in the evening.

Inside Bles Bar, the amorous lights were sweeping around, the pungent smell of alcohol mixed with the scent of perfume filled the air. ”Lin Mo, have you ever learned martial arts?” Song Min, wearing a strappy dress, walked beside Lin Mo and asked cheerfully while her eyes uncontrollably measured him up as if she were a kitten that saw a delicious fish, with an enticing look in her eyes that seemed to eat someone alive.

Song Min had a mature figure, fair skin, and a beautiful appearance, the epitome of white-collar beauty, and naturally exuded an alluring aura. Had it been another man, he surely would have been attracted by her enchanting presence, but the one beside her was Lin Mo.

”I’ve learned a little, but I haven’t used it for quite some time,” Lin Mo said casually.

What Song Min asked about was obviously referring to the incident from yesterday, his slap had nearly sent Alec’s face collapsing, he surely had learned some martial arts.

Song Min’s peripheral vision stealthily surveyed the man beside her. His appearance was ordinary, and at first glance, his demeanor also seemed utterly commonplace, but whether facing big shots or any situation, he retained such an ordinary appearance—that spelled out clearly that this man was anything but ordinary. ”No wonder, Alec was heavily outmatched by you,” Song Min said, covering her lips and giggling.

Song Min was aware of her allure to men, but Lin Mo, however, seemed immune to her charms, which only piqued her curiosity further, even feeling that she had become attracted to Lin Mo.
