Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

The newcomer was a young man in his mid-twenties, dressed in a well-tailored suit that accentuated his remarkably tall and distinguished stature. His handsome features were tempered by a hint of pride that seemed to emanate from his face.

Upon seeing this young man, the teenagers’ faces all betrayed a touch of reverence.

”Mr. Li.”

”Master Li.” The person in front of them was none other than Li Shujie, the eldest son of the Li Family and its future heir. The Li Family was one of the ten great clans of the Ancient Capital, its status no lower than that of the Huo Family, and they had even hired a Martial Arts expert to teach Li Shujie Martial Arts. At a young age, he had already reached the Martial God Strong Person Realm and had once, on a whim

gone to participate in an underground boxing match, where he had disabled an Austrian boxer with one punch.

That Austrian fighter was quite famous in the Underground Boxing Ring, boasting a proud record of 18 wins and 6 losses. However, his arrogant personality led him to declare that no Huaxia person could beat him, a claim that ended with Li Shujie reducing him to a cripple with a single punch.

Naturally, all the young men and women present held him in great awe.

”What were you talking about just now?” Li Shujie inquired breezily.

Everyone exchanged glances, but no one spoke.

”Xiao Wan, what were you discussing? I thought I heard something about Little Shi just now,” Li Shujie said, his gaze falling upon Qi Wan’s face, his black pupils sharp.

Seeing Li Shujie’s gaze, Qi Wan stammered, ”Well, we were just chatting casually. Someone upset Little Shi.”

By the time Gai Shu thought about intervening, it was already too late.

Sure enough, the smile on Li Shujie’s face vanished, giving way to a chilling expression, ”Who dared to bully Little Shi?”

”It’s that person over there,” Xiao Wan hurried to say in as soothing a tone as possible. ”But Little Shi said it’s nothing. That person is just a bit annoying.” Li Shujie might have a good nature, but his admiration for Huo Yongshi was well-known in their circle.

Sure enough, following her gaze, Li Shujie saw Lin Mo standing by the artificial lake and frowned slightly.

”Bullying Little Shi, I wonder who he thinks he is,” Li Shujie remarked, striding towards Lin Mo.

Seeing this, the others knew Mr. Li was getting angry. Some reveled in the looming disaster, while others were worried.

”Xiao Wan, I told you not to talk about Little Shi’s matters. Look what’s happened now,” Gai Shu said, frowning helplessly.

Qi Wan pouted and replied, ”Don’t worry, today is Little Shi’s birthday. I suppose Mr. Li won’t make a scene. At most he’ll just warn that guy. Besides, that guy did upset Little Shi, so scaring him a bit wouldn’t hurt.”

”Hmm.” Gai Shu sighed, hoping nothing serious would happen.

Lin Mo and Yingzi stood together, holding champagne and enjoying the night breeze. Lin Mo was pondering over the matter of the Qingxuan Sect Master. If the Sect Master truly showed up, he only had a three in ten chance of leaving unscathed, with virtually no chance of victory.

But this was just speculation, not proven in real combat, so the outcome was still uncertain.

As Lin Mo was mulling over this, a sound of crisp footsteps suddenly came from behind, causing him to instinctively turn around.

He saw a group of brightly dressed young men and women approaching him.

Leading them was a young man in his mid-twenties, with eyebrows sharp as swords and eyes fiercely piercing, a Martial God Strong Person.

To reach Martial God Strong Person status at this age was considered genius in the Martial Arts World.

”Are you a friend of Little Shi? I’m Li Shujie.”

Li Shujie’s eyes burned with intensity as he stared at Lin Mo and asked.

Lin Mo nodded, ”You looking for me about something?”

Seeing Lin Mo’s reaction, Li Shujie’s brow slightly furrowed in confusion, a hint of perplexity crossing his face.

The Li Family was a prominent clan in Ancient Capital, and his name carried some weight there, yet in the face of this youth, he did not see the fear and surprise that he had expected.

”You’re not from Ancient Capital?” Li Shujie inquired.

Lin Mo replied, ”I’m from Shu Province, just acquainted with Miss Huo of the Huo Family.”

”So you’re from that insignificant place in Shu Province? You don’t know our Mr. Li?” a disdainful voice commented from behind.

Li Shujie said indifferently, ”I heard something earlier: you bullied Little Shi and made her unhappy?”

Lin Mo frowned, looking at the other party. Could it be that Huo Yongshi was seeking revenge? But that hardly seemed likely; Huo Yongshi had witnessed his strength and certainly wouldn’t seek trouble with him.

The only reason must be that Huo Yongshi complained about him to these people, and this Mr. Li sought to defend her honor. However, Huo Yongshi likely hadn’t shared his true identity with them.

”I just had a small misunderstanding with Miss Huo; as for bullying—I don’t think that’s quite the word for it,” Lin Mo stated with a detached expression.

Qi Wan and Gai Shu both sighed in relief at the sight.

Thankfully, this Lin Mo wasn’t a hot-headed fool; he hadn’t butted heads with Mr. Li. Otherwise, today’s matter wouldn’t end well.

Everyone heard Lin Mo’s words and seemed to take them as a sign of his softening, smirks of disdain appearing on their faces.

”I fancy Little Shi, and everyone in Ancient Capital knows it. If you’re wise, you’ll behave yourself. Otherwise, I’ll make you regret it,” Li Shujie said, his gaze turning a bit more ferocious.

Lin Mo’s brow furrowed, his expression darkening, ”I really dislike threats from others, and so far, I haven’t met someone capable of making me regret anything.”

”You’ve got a tough attitude. Do you know who I am? My name is Li Shujie, from the Li Family. I don’t need my family’s influence to press you, on my own, I’m more than enough to make you kneel and beg for mercy,” Li Shujie said with clenched fists and a piercing gaze.

Qi Wan and Gai Shu, the two girls, immediately paled; just moments ago, they thought Lin Mo was showing weakness—how had the argument heated up so quickly?

And Li Shujie wasn’t usually this type, why was he so unrelenting today?

In fact, the matter Li Shujie wanted to address was straightforward. Today was Huo Yongshi’s birthday party, and he wanted to declare in front of everyone that Huo Yongshi’s ’sovereignty’ was his.

As for Lin Mo in his eyes, he was just a stepstone prepared for his declaration of sovereignty.

”Lin Mo, hurry and apologize to Mr. Li!” Qi Wan said anxiously.

She feared causing a scene at Huo Yongshi’s birthday due to her, which would likely earn her a scolding from Little Shi.

”We’re Little Shi’s best friends. Just apologize to Mr. Li, and being the generous man he is, he won’t hold it against you,” Gai Shu also urged hastily.

The others remained silent, cradling their wine glasses with smiles on their faces, seemingly ready to watch the drama unfold.

”How dare you speak to my Family Head like that?” Yingzi’s delicate brows knitted together, her pretty face clouded with anger.

Li Shujie eyed Yingzi, taking in her petite cuteness coupled with an ethereal aura, a rarity even among Ancient Capital’s esteemed ladies—she was indeed an exceptional beauty.

However, Li Shujie, after all, had the discipline of a major family’s young master. He regathered his thoughts, his gaze returning to Lin Mo, ”What’s the matter? Don’t you even have the courage to speak for yourself, letting a girl stand up for you?”

”You can keep your words to yourself; not just you, I don’t take your entire family seriously either,” Lin Mo said flatly.
