Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

”Energy Crystal?” Lin Mo frowned slightly.

He had seen these energy crystals a few years ago when he had been with the Flame Dragon Special Forces. They were similar to spirit stones, storing energy of certain special attributes that could enhance one’s strength when absorbed.

”Yes, this is an energy crystal. If Lin Mo is willing to help, the Tang Sect can provide Mr. Lin with more energy crystals,” Tang Yitong said.

Lin Mo furrowed his brows in thought.

In his last battle with the Qingxuan Sect Master, his internal injuries had gradually healed under the operation of the Yang Wood Divine Skill, but a new crack had appeared on the Xuanyuan Sword, which needed some special energy bodies for repair.

The energy crystal in front of him was precisely the kind of energy Lin Mo needed.

”However, I want to know first what help the Tang Sect needs from me?” Lin Mo asked instead of agreeing immediately.

Seeing Lin Mo soften, Tang Yitong knew that the items she had presented had moved him. Someone like Lin Mo, certainly did not lack money or women; only these special items could attract him.

”It’s not a very big issue, really. Our Tang Sect has always had grievances with the Mafia, but I’ve heard that this time there is an SS level superpower user in the Mafia who wants to seek revenge on my father, so I’d like to ask for Mr. Lin’s help,” Tang Yitong stated earnestly.

”The Tang Sect is a major clan among overseas Chinese? Why ask for my help?”

Lin Mo asked with a frown. Tang Yitong explained, ”I won’t lie to Mr. Lin, but the Tang Sect has been on the decline over these years. It’s only in the mortal world that its name is significant. Among those organizations with superpower users, our Tang Sect is as weak as an ant. It’s only in the past ten years that the Tang Sect has started to recruit some superpower users and martial arts masters, but you know, those with extraordinary abilities are not so easily persuaded to join.”

Lin Mo nodded; indeed, while the Tang Sect was well-known among the overseas Chinese, it was merely a surface-level organization. At least those powerful unions composed of real strongmen were probably unknown to most ordinary people.

”Alright, I agree to help.”

”Really? Then we’ll head back tomorrow,” Tang Yitong said excitedly, grabbing Lin Mo’s arm, her face brimming with a joyful smile. ”With Mr. Lin’s help, my father will surely overcome this difficult time.”

In the room that had been arranged for him, Lin Mo took out the Xuanyuan Sword, which hovered in midair. Although it still emitted a faint blue divine radiance, the radiance was noticeably weaker, and a fine crack had appeared on the blade.

”To repair the damage on the sword, I will need a lot of energy crystals,” Lin Mo sighed inwardly.

These energy crystals, like spirit stones, both contained a power similar to Heaven and Earth Essence, but energy crystals were more affinity-based and easier to absorb.

Some ordinary people could absorb energy crystals, thereby discovering their latent superpowers, yet they couldn’t absorb the spiritual energy within spirit stones.

Lin Mo also understood that whether he wanted to enter the Innate Realm or repair the Xuanyuan Sword, he needed both spirit stones and energy crystals.

However, the last decisive battle with the Heavenly Sect had probably placed Ye Beichen in a difficult situation as well. The Beiyao Sect wouldn’t offend all human cultivators in the Heavenly Sect for his sake. Thus, after Lin Mo emerged from seclusion, he hadn’t seen Ye Beichen and couldn’t collaborate with the Beiyao Sect to obtain spirit stones.

”Once I enter the Innate Realm, I will then go deep into the Heavenly Sect to thoroughly investigate,” Lin Mo clenched his fist, his eyes revealing a resolute gaze.

”Hum!”

A white light burst from the Xuanyuan Sword, and immediately, a milky-white Dragon Fish spiraled around the sword body, emitting a clear ringing sound. However, the Dragon Fish Sword Spirit seemed very weak in spirit.

During this period, Lin Mo had been healing his injuries and had seldom used his Spiritual Energy to nourish the Dragon Fish. Additionally, due to the injuries sustained earlier, the Dragon Fish appeared quite exhausted.

”You’ve worked hard,” Lin Mo said to the Dragon Fish, a faint smile curving at his lips.

As if understanding his words, the Dragon Fish incessantly rubbed affectionately against his shoulder with its head.

”Alright, this is for you, eat it and have a good rest,” Lin Mo took out an Energy Crystal Tang Yitong had given him and handed it to the Dragon Fish.

The Dragon Fish, upon seeing the crystal, opened its mouth wide as if it had seen a treasure, and swallowed the Energy Crystal in one gulp, a pleased smile appearing on its face. It let out a cheerful chirp and then finally returned inside the Xuanyuan Sword.

The next morning, Lin Mo, along with Tang Yitong, Norman, and others, took a plane and left Seattle for the Tang Sect headquarters in San Francisco.

On the way, Lin Mo chatted with Tang Yitong and learned some news.

Although the Tang Sect had some influence overseas, ever since some internal changes occurred within the Tang Sect decades ago, many branches had formed within the sect, with Tang Yitong’s branch being the largest. However, the experts of the Tang Sect had disappeared nearly a hundred years ago, leading to the gradual weakening of the Sect’s power.

On the other hand, the other major overseas Chinese Sect, the Hongmen, had deep roots, even owning an exclusive island equipped with various modern military facilities. Its power was not on the same level as the Tang Sect’s, and even the major powers of the world had to be cautious in dealing with it, with smaller countries daring not to provoke Hongmen.

In terms of power, the Tang Sect was much weaker than the Hongmen.

As for another mysterious organization, Freemasonry, Tang Yitong was not very clear about them, only mentioning that they were somewhat similar to the Crown Prince Party. However, Freemasonry did indeed have considerable power in the mortal world, having once secretly manipulated some small countries’ presidential elections and even wars.

”Just relying on worldly power, it’s impossible to have such a strong influence, there must be some experts supporting them behind the scenes,” Lin Mo thought privately.

However, these powers had nothing to do with him for now; he had only inquired a bit more because of Su Xinhe.

At one in the afternoon, the plane landed at the San Francisco airport.

As soon as they exited the terminal, there were numerous Mercedes parked outside, with a few bodyguards standing next to a Rolls-Royce Phantom, drawing the attention of the airport pedestrians.

”My dad always likes to make such a big fuss, afraid that others won’t know I’ve returned?” Tang Yitong frowned and pouted helplessly.

Lin Mo and Tang Yitong both got into the Rolls-Royce Phantom, and the convoy soon vanished from the terminal, and after about an hour, pulled up at the entrance of a beautiful estate. The estate, nestled between mountains and a river, spanned about two hundred acres, nearly covering the entire hillside and riverside, with hundreds of sternly disciplined bodyguards in black patrolling inside, making the whole estate impregnable like an iron fortress with not even a fly able to get in.

”It seems there are people around?” Lin Mo frowned slightly as he got out of the car. Tang Yitong dismissively replied, ”Who else could it be? The CIA people squat here every day; it’s already become a common sight.”

Lin Mo nodded, instantly understanding. Naturally, with a major organization like the Tang Sect headquartered in San Francisco, the American CIA and FBI couldn’t sleep peacefully.
