Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

”Mr. Tang, how come you’re here? I didn’t even see you earlier, I’m really sorry. Let me punish myself with a drink.”

Song Min, with a smile on her face, walked over and had already downed the champagne in her glass in one gulp.

Song Min was outgoing and especially charming. Before Tang Zulong had a chance to ”seek revenge”, she took the initiative to punish herself with a drink. With so many people around, Tang Zulong probably wouldn’t want to make a scene by getting angry with her.

”Miss Song is truly astute and extraordinary in social skills,” Tang Zulong was stunned for a moment, then burst into hearty laughter.

”I hope Mr. Tang will be generous and not hold a grudge against a little woman like me for what happened last time at the bar,” said Song Min with a chuckle.

Tang Zulong waved his hand and spoke, ”Miss Song still remembers that incident, do you think I came to trouble you because of it?”

With that, Tang Zulong laughed out loud.

”Is it not so?” Song Min’s cheeks showed a look of doubt, then she quickly added, ”Look at me rambling on. Mr. Tang, you’re a big shot, why would you care about such a trivial matter?”

Tang Zulang stared intently at Song Min, shook his head, and said in a deep tone, ”Miss Song, to me, this matter is not a ’trivial’ matter.”

Hearing his words, Song Min’s pretty face suddenly turned pale, and she said stiffly, ”Then what do you intend to do? Should I drink a few more as an apology to Mr. Tang?”

”There’s no need for an apology,” Tang Zulong shook his head.

At that moment, Huo Yongyue, who was sitting aside with his legs crossed, put his glass on the glass coffee table and spoke, ”Song Min, Mr. Tang is quite fond of you. He even dragged me here specially to find you. Mr. Tang isn’t married yet, and you’re a sharp and capable person. It’s a match made in heaven.”

After this remark,

It wasn’t just Song Min’s complexion that suddenly changed—Huo Nan, sitting on the sofa, also turned pale. She had never heard Huo Yongyue bring up anything about Song Min and Tang Zulong.

Tang Zulong didn’t beat around the bush, ”Miss Song, to tell you the truth, I was mesmerized by you the first time I saw you. If you are willing to be my girlfriend, I can give you a villa and a sports car, and I will deposit three hundred thousand into your account each month for your expenses.”

If what Huo Yongyue said sounded like matchmaking, then what Tang Zulong was proposing seemed more like he wanted to keep Song Min as a mistress.

Tang Zulong was the Dragon Head of the largest Chinese Gang in Seattle and even in Washington. Why would he randomly marry a woman? Such a man never lacked for women—it was clear that he simply wanted to keep Song Min like a canary, confined to his harem.

”Mr. Tang, a worldly woman like me wouldn’t catch your eye. You have so many beauties and models around you, you must be joking,” said Song Min with a laugh, although her complexion had started to look quite unwell.

Tang Zulong responded, ”Miss Song, I’m not joking with you. Today, I’m here to make you my girlfriend.”

As he spoke, Tang Zulong’s gaze turned somewhat grim, and he twisted the jade thumb ring on his left thumb with his right hand’s fingers.

In the private room, other Baolai Company employees also heard the conversation and began giving Song Min strange looks.

Song Min was well-known in the company as a beautiful woman with a voluptuous figure and a charming demeanor, many male employees’ dream goddess.

But now, someone had actually dared to confront Song Min with the intent to keep her as a mistress, which immediately irked many male employees. Yet, facing the formidable Tang Zulong, none dared to speak up for Song Min.

Huo Nan suddenly smiled and tried to smooth things over. ”Mr. Tang, Miss Song is my friend. She hasn’t considered dating yet, and moreover, these things can’t be forced. You’re a big shot after all, and you’re not lacking beauties by your side, so why trouble us?”

”Mr. Huo, am I really troubling you?” Tang Zulong suddenly stared at Huo Nan, a flash of cold light gleamed in his eyes.

”Mr. Tang, I didn’t mean that.”

Even Huo Nan felt the pressure when facing this underground overlord, his expression flickering slightly.

Tang Zulong looked at Huo Yongyue and said, ”Mr. Yue, I give face to the Huo Family, but it seems your people don’t take me seriously. That makes me lose face.”

”Mr. Tang, she is merely a collateral member of our Huo Family. Why bother with her, a woman?” Huo Yongyue spoke indifferently.

At these words, Huo Nan’s face turned pale and ugly.

Although she was from the collateral line of the Huo Family, her contributions and dedication to the family exceeded those of a core member like him.

”Mr. Yue, Song Min is my best friend and good friend. I don’t want anyone to force her into things she’s unwilling to do.” Huo Nan clenched her pale fists, her eyes showing an unusual resolve.

Sitting beside her, Song Min shot a grateful glance at Huo Nan, but still let out a light sigh. Huo Yongyue squinted his eyes, a mix of disdain and contempt in his gaze as he surveyed Huo Nan. He sneered, ”Huo Nan, do you really think you’re some big shot? Is it your place to speak here? You are just a collateral family member, a woman at that. It’s already quite something for you to manage the branch office in Seattle. Who do you think you are?”

Huo Nan was both angry and furious, not expecting that her contributions meant so little in the eyes of the Huo Family.

Just because she was from the collateral line, just because she was a woman, did it mean the Huo Family could look down on her efforts and sweat so contemptuously? ”I have given so much for the Huo Family and the company. All you do is drink and womanize. I kept quiet when you took credit for my work, but now you want my best friend as a bargaining chip for the company, and I won’t agree.” Huo Nan suddenly stood up, her voice sharply louder, her delicate body trembling with rage.

Huo Yongyue looked at Huo Nan with a surprised face and sneered. ”Oh, you dare to lash out at me? Don’t you believe that I could demote you from your current position to a mere clerk with just one word?”

”Xiao Nan, let it go.” Song Min pulled at Huo Nan’s clothes, gently shook her head, her eyes pleading. She didn’t want Huo Nan to lose the results of her years of hard work and her dreams over this matter.

Huo Yongyue lifted his chin slightly and said, ”Song Min, being Mr. Tang’s woman is a stroke of fortune for you. Don’t be ungrateful. If you offend Mr. Tang, it may not be long before you’re found as a rotting corpse in a filthy ditch.”

Song Min and Huo Nan, two strong women in the workplace, turned ashen, having never dealt with the underground society before. Hearing Huo Yongyue’s threat, their hearts couldn’t help but be filled with fear.

The whole private room was as silent as if chilled, and the employees of Baoli Company, hearing the enticements and threats from Huo Yongyue and others, were filled with indignation but not one of them dared speak.

After all, this was abroad, and to Tang Zulong, who was involved in the underground society, killing was nothing but a trivial matter. No one wanted to joke with their lives.

”Hey, what are you doing?” Suddenly, Liao Jianyu noticed Lin Mo standing up beside him, his face instantly changing as he whispered urgently.

(The excitement continues tomorrow.)
