Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

Everyone showed disdain or even scorn for Lin Mo’s words, leaving Minister Lou’s face looking rather displeased.

Lin Mo was the strongest fighter in the Martial Arts World, his presence shone with an unparalleled brilliance, but only the higher-ups at the Security Bureau knew his true identity.

However, even though they knew of Lin Mo’s identity, they would only admit that his strength was considerable, and that developing advanced equipment wasn’t a matter to be decided solely by martial power.

Up to this point, even Minister Lou was beginning to waver in his conviction.

Facing everyone’s skepticism and disdain, Lin Mo’s expression remained unchanged, with not a trace of emotional fluctuation. To him, this was indeed just a trivial matter.

”I indeed don’t know the materials of the Mystic Turtle II,” said Lin Mo calmly, ”but I do know of a method that can replace some of the materials.”

”What materials?” Minister Lou asked, frowning with curiosity.

Lin Mo walked up to the Mystic Turtle II War Armor and spoke slowly, ”Array.”

Array!

”Carving an array into it can replace certain functions, such as recovery, defensive power, or even attack,” Lin Mo stated calmly. The term ’array’ wasn’t entirely foreign to Huaxia people, for it had appeared in ancient Huaxia mythology, but those were just fabricated illusions. For scientists and everyday people educated in high-level technology, such things were utterly non-existent.

”Bullshit, arrays like that simply can’t exist,” Deputy Director Liu snorted coldly, clearly dissatisfied.

Other research members also shook their heads, viewing Lin Mo’s words as a joke.

Huo Jiaming said, ”As an old man, I do enjoy reading some Buddhist and Taoist texts. Indeed, they mention arrays and elixir crafting, but these things are mere fabrications, not to be believed.”

”Heh, I think someone here has no real skills and is trying to fool us, taking us for fools,” Huo Yongshi sneered disdainfully.

Lin Mo didn’t respond but instead turned to look at the crowd, then stretched out his right hand, his index finger emitting a faint golden light.

The golden finger traced a Star Array in mid-air, and the Star Array hovered there.

In the laboratory, everyone’s face showed a stunned expression.

”This isn’t a magic trick, is it?”

”What kind of technology is this, holographic projection?”

Huo Jiaming, Huo Yongshi, and the rest of the research members, Deputy Director Liu, Vice Director Hua, and others all showed looks of astonishment.

”Minister Lou, have someone shoot at me now!” Lin Mo said indifferently.

”Have you lost your mind? Can this really block the attack of a modern weapon at close range?” Director Liu exclaimed in shock.

Minister Lou furrowed his brow, hesitated for a moment, then nodded and immediately ordered a soldier to shoot at Lin Mo.

Huo Yongshi’s eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Lin Mo.

”Bang bang bang!”

Bullets flew out rapidly. Huo Yongshi, terrified of seeing Lin Mo riddled with bullet holes, covered her eyes. But after a moment, not a sound was made, and the whole place fell eerily silent!

Slowly moving her palms away from her eyes, Huo Yongshi’s eyes widened, and she looked on in disbelief at the scene unfolding before her.

Before Lin Mo’s Star Array, over a dozen bullets were suspended in mid-air, causing ripples in the air as they were blocked.

”Thud, thud, thud!”

With a casual wave of his hand, Lin Mo made all the bullets fall to the ground.

Huo Jiaming felt his worldview being overturned at that moment. Even the Martial God Strong Persons he had seen before couldn’t do it as effortlessly as Lin Mo.

Suddenly, Huo Jiaming realized he was wrong.

How could a young man who Minister Lou had personally invited be just an ordinary scientific researcher? He had to be one in a million, an extraordinary person.

”How is this possible?” Huo Yongshi covered her mouth in shock, unable to believe that all of it was real—it was like a scene straight out of The Matrix, wasn’t it?

”Is this the power of an Array?” Deputy Director Liu’s face turned red with embarrassment. He had been vehemently denying Lin Mo’s capabilities, but now the evidence was unmistakably right in front of him—it felt as though someone had slapped him across the face.

Without finishing his sentence, Lin Mo suddenly walked over to Huo Yongshi, grabbed her wrist, and with a flick of his fingers, made a small cut on her arm that began to bleed.

”What are you doing...” Huo Jiaming glared furiously.

Startled by the scene that had just unfolded and still not recovered, Huo Yongshi was jolted back to reality by the sudden pain.

”It is not just that,” Lin Mo said. Green light flickered from the tips of his fingers, and the wound on Huo Yongshi’s arm began to heal slowly, soon returning to its original state unscarred.

This time, everyone was truly astounded. Defence power, healing abilities—far beyond the imagination of ordinary people.

”Xiao Mo, you are truly amazing,” Minister Lou exclaimed, his face filled with excitement.

Lin Mo said, ”However, inscribing this kind of Array on War Armor can’t rely on lasers; it requires a person to inscribe it with spiritual power. Although the power won’t be as great as what I use, if it can be inscribed, it will definitely be comparable to the Mystic Turtle II War Armor.”

If it was as Lin Mo said, then the Mystic Turtle II could save a lot of materials, reducing the time and cost of production significantly. What’s needed was for personnel from the Security Bureau with strong spiritual power to learn how to inscribe Arrays.

”Give this Jade Pendant to someone from the Security Bureau with strong spiritual power; it contains the methods for inscribing Arrays,” Lin Mo said, taking out a White Jade Pendant. He imprinted the information about the Array into it using his Divine Sense and handed it to Minister Lou.

”Xiao Mo, you have really helped us out this time, thank you,” said Minister Lou as he accepted the White Jade, his expression filled with emotion.

”Hopefully, Minister Lou can take good care of my friend,” Lin Mo replied indifferently.

”That’s a given. After this, the higher-ups at the Security Bureau surely can’t oppose it,” Minister Lou promised earnestly.

Director Liu and Director Hua both looked pale and then flushed, completely overwhelmed by Lin Mo’s demonstration. If they could mass-produce this kind of combat suit, the special forces’ strength would take a significant leap. Lin Mo’s contribution was immeasurable.

The Array Lin Mo used wasn’t very complex. Someone with Zhang Qiang’s level of spiritual power could also inscribe it. However, the power source required for the War Armor was Spiritual Energy, which meant that after using the armor for a while, it would need to be recharged in a place abundant with Spiritual Energy. If the military could find a Spirit Stone or an Energy Stone, it would be possible to extend the War Armor’s operation time. Helping the Huaxia Military Department was simply Lin Mo’s own way, as a citizen of Huaxia, of contributing his strength, but Lin Mo couldn’t teach more. Otherwise, it would disrupt the world’s balance, and if his secrets were ever revealed to other countries, it would undoubtedly bring more trouble to himself.

However, after this visit to the research base, Lin Mo gained a deeper understanding of the great powers of his era.

The place Minister Lou had shown him was probably not the most core equipment research base of the military; it was very likely that Huaxia had already developed superweapons like lasers, railguns, or small nuclear weapons.

Even Innate-level strong persons might be wary of such weapons.

So, as the current superpower of Earth, did country M possess even stronger weaponry? Lin Mo frowned at the thought.

(The excitement continues tomorrow.)
