Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

But when he said that, the crowd fell instantly silent.

The Li Family’s position in the Ancient Capital was something these people knew better than anyone else.

With assets of a listed group worth hundreds of billions, not to mention their extremely deep background and complex relations in military and political circles, the Li Family could squeeze into the top five families in the Ancient Capital. And now someone had the audacity to say they didn’t even take the Li Family into account.

Audacious!

It was simply too arrogant!

However, Li Shujie just scoffed coldly, ”Only the ignorant can utter such ignorant words.”

”Mr. Li is right. Ignorance is indeed fearless.”

”This bumpkin, who knows where he came from, is spouting nonsense here. He probably doesn’t even know the background of the Li Family,” said the youth dressed in Versace with a cold laugh.

But as soon as he finished speaking, he found himself flying directly into the lake with a splash, soaking wet, frantically moving his arms.

The crowd was shocked once again. Just now, no one saw anyone make a move, but it must have been Lin Mo or Yingzi.

Li Shujie’s pupils narrowed slightly as he finally took Lin Mo seriously, ”It seems you’ve got some skills. I’d like to see how strong you are. Try out my Double Form Boxing.”

Lin Mo stretched out his palm and pressed down hard. Immediately, Li Shujie’s face contorted, and with a thud, he knelt on the ground, feeling an irresistible force emanating from his body.

In his astonishment, Li Shujie was more filled with anger.

He was the proud eldest son of the powerful Li Family and was now kneeling before Lin Mo in front of so many friends.

”You...” Li Shujie ground his teeth, mustering all his True Yuan and barely managing to utter a word.

Lin Mo’s palm pressed down lightly once again, and Li Shujie fell prostrate, face first onto the grass, swallowing a mouthful of dirt and grass in the process.

The young men and women in front of him had expressionless faces, eyes filled with fear.

No one knew by what method Lin Mo made Li Shujie bow in submission, but everyone could tell that Lin Mo was not someone to be trifled with.

”What’s happening here?”

”Could he be using sorcery?”

While everyone was surprised, Qi Wan’s and Gai Shu’s complexions also looked quite grim.

Lin Mo had caused such great humiliation to Li Shujie; it was likely that Li Shujie would be at odds with him to the bitter end.

Although Li Shujie usually had a mild temperament, befitting of a great family’s master, the pride ingrained in him could never be changed. After all, being born into a large family, how could Li Shujie easily swallow such a bitter pill after Lin Mo’s humiliation?

”Your strength, in my eyes, is too weak. If I wanted to kill you, it would be as simple as crushing an ant. But today, I will spare your life out of respect for the Huo Family,” Lin Mo said indifferently.

However, Li Shujie’s face was red with rage, wishing he could get up and kill Lin Mo. But now, no matter how hard he tried, he could not even move a finger.

”Lin Mo, why don’t we just let this go?” said Qi Wan timidly.

”I am being merciful by just making him kneel. He was the one who provoked me, so why should I let it go?” Lin Mo said indifferently.

Qi Wan said, ”We know you’re capable of some things, but Mr. Li is the big boss of the Li Family after all. If you really offend him, the consequences are unimaginable. No matter how powerful one is, it’s impossible to stand against modern weapons, right?”

Qi Wan’s words were veiled, implying that the Li Family had connections with Underground Forces, and no matter how strong he was, he could not contend with firearms.

”You’re not wrong, but in this world, there really isn’t much that I fear,” Lin Mo said with his expression remaining calm and indifferent.

”Mr. Li’s uncle is Mr. Luo, you should let him go. If Mr. Luo gets wind of this, he definitely won’t let it go easily,” Gai Shu also opened his mouth to say.

As for what everyone heard from Lin Mo, they naturally assumed Lin Mo was just bragging.

At the Huo Family’s birthday party, the younger attendees clinked glasses, drank, chatted, and boasted, while the older generation used the occasion to network and casually discuss business deals worth hundreds of millions.

At the moment, several middle-aged men were chatting in the manor’s main hall.

”Mr. Li, you must let me get involved in the shipping business with Bi Country this time. I just bought a few cargo ships and am struggling to find a place to utilize them.”

”President Liu, that’s no problem. I was also planning to find a few cargo ships for that purpose.”

”Mr. Luo, I heard you’ve acquired another gold mine in Australia—you’re going to make a fortune, aren’t you?”

”That’s just a minor business, not worth mentioning,” the man who spoke was a gentleman just over fifty years old, dressed in a black Chinese tunic suit with a string of Buddha Beads on his wrist, his face wearing a kind and gentle smile.

However, no one dared to underestimate him. This was Luo Jiahao, one of the Dragon Heads of the Ancient Capital’s Underground Forces, with a complex network of connections, deeply rooted in the Ancient Capital. Even the major families had to give him face.

”Something terrible has happened; Mr. Li has been beaten up,” suddenly a young man hurried in, his face flushed as he spoke. The expressions of the middle-aged men engaged in conversation immediately tightened, their brows furrowing.

”What? Someone dared to hit my son?” Annoyance painted across the face of one middle-aged man as he spoke with a scowl.

This middle-aged man was Li Ming, Li Shujie’s father and the third ranking member of the Li Family. He himself held a wealth of over a hundred billion, making him one of the true top-tier tycoons.

Luo Jiahao was also frowning, ”In the Ancient Capital’s circle, aside from those few, who would dare touch Xiao Jie? They might cause a stir at most but dare not actually attack, right?”

The youth who had come over was one of the youths who had been with Li Shujie earlier. Seeing Lin Mo press Li Shujie to the ground, he had sneaked to the hall to tip them off.

”That person seems to be a friend of Miss Huo, but he’s not from the Ancient Capital. It’s said that he comes from Shu Province, and his surname seems to be Lin,” the youth who reported the news said hesitantly.

”Hmph, I really want to see what kind of powerhouse has come from afar to dare bully Xiao Jie,” Luo Jiahao narrowed his eyes slightly, a trace of cold light peering out from the slits.

Li Ming nodded, and the group strode towards the outside.

Luo Jiahao, frowning in thought, turned to one of his bodyguards and said, ”Bring Master Chen here.”

”Understood.” The bodyguard nodded and immediately walked in another direction.

Li Ming looked at Luo Jiahao with surprise, ”Brother-in-law, what is this about?”

”Xiao Jie is a Martial God Strong Person. If he was beaten by the other party, it means he is also a Martial Arts practitioner. Besides, it’s at the Huo Family’s party today; I can’t just order a hit, can I?” Luo Jiahao said with a laugh, ”Once Master Chen arrives, he’ll naturally teach him a lesson.”

Li Ming frowned and nodded in agreement, ”Brother-in-law, you’ve thought this through thoroughly.”

The two quickly strode forward and soon reached the artificial lake, where Li Shujie being held down on the ground had already caused quite a stir, attracting many onlookers.

Li Ming and Luo Jiahao made their way out from the crowd and indeed saw Li Shujie pressed down on the lawn, his mouth full of mud, looking quite disheveled.

The expressions on Li Ming’s and Luo Jiahao’s faces grew even grimmer. A beating would have been one thing, but such an act was a severe humiliation for Li Shujie and an insult to the Li Family.

Lin Mo stood calmly in front, only turning his gaze onto the two men when Li Ming and Luo Jiahao appeared.

”Xiao Jie, what are you doing, get up quickly!” Li Ming burst out, clenching his fists.

In front of so many people, his own son was lying facedown on the ground eating dirt. As a father, he was unable to save face.

Li Shujie, seeing his father and uncle coming over, his face flushed with embarrassment. Yet, as he tried to speak, not a single word came out, leaving him feeling extremely frustrated and stifled.

”What in the world are you doing?” Li Ming noticed something strange about his son and stared fiercely at Lin Mo.
