Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 195: Chapter 194: Serving Tea and Water

One of the managers slammed his hand on the table. He was having a bad day; the CEO was giving them a hard time, and everyone was already exhausted. And now they couldn’t even order a mere secretary around?

Huh?

Nia Mitchell, caught completely off guard, jumped at the sudden loud noise.

She frowned in anger and quickly turned her gaze toward that manager.

”I’ve told you already, I’m very busy right now. I’m not done sorting these things yet.”

After saying that, Nia Mitchell returned to her work. Phoebe Walker must have done this on purpose. Otherwise, why would these things be so messy? Couldn’t she have arranged them in order?

The thought that she wouldn’t be here starting next Monday made her feel a bit more relieved. At most, she just had to endure it for another half day. With Phoebe gone, the people in the Secretary Department should be much easier to deal with.

”Little secretary, isn’t fetching us some water part of your job?”

A middle-aged man stood up, smiling as he looked at Nia Mitchell.

His greasy, beaming face made Nia Mitchell inwardly shudder; it was utterly disgusting.

”The task I’m handling now is more important.”

Having finally sorted everything, she heaved a small sigh of relief. Thankfully, she hadn’t delayed their meeting.

Nia placed the documents in front of the last few chairs. Then, she went over to pour water into everyone’s teacups.

”I want tea leaves; they’re over there.”

The oily-faced manager spoke again, pointing toward a cabinet to one side.

Just as Nia Mitchell was about to fetch the tea leaves, Alan Morgan happened to enter.

Damn it! How dare these people order his sister-in-law around? He had almost been annihilated by the Boss just a moment ago. For something like this to happen again now... are these people deliberately trying to cross him? Luckily, he had arrived a bit earlier than the Boss; otherwise... he might really have had to prepare for the worst.

”What are you all doing? Have you reviewed the content for the meeting yet?”

Alan Morgan frowned, walking over to take a look. Thankfully, his sister-in-law was unharmed.

”Special Assistant Morgan, we’re just waiting for the CEO to arrive, aren’t we? The meeting content has just been sorted. This little secretary’s work quality isn’t up to par.”

Everyone exchanged glances, somewhat puzzled by Alan Morgan’s strong reaction today. This kind of overreaction could only be explained by him being in a bad mood too, they figured. After all, Alan Morgan had been personally kept behind by the CEO just moments ago; he had probably received a terrible scolding.

”Special Assistant Morgan, please calm down. We’ll start familiarizing ourselves with the meeting content right away.”

Someone started trying to smooth things over, but what everyone else was really thinking remained a mystery.

Nia Mitchell stood where she was and shrugged, not quite understanding the situation.

She turned to get the tea leaves and then began to prepare the tea.

”You can leave. You don’t need to do these things.”

Nia Mitchell looked up at Alan Morgan, who had spoken. Isn’t pouring water for the conference room a secretary’s responsibility? Could it be because of her status that he was... being exceptionally considerate?

”This is my job. I’ll be done pouring soon. The meeting hasn’t started yet, has it?” Nia Mitchell replied with a smile, then continued pouring water.

”If I say you don’t need to pour water, then you don’t. Go back and handle your own tasks. The meeting is about to begin.”

Alan Morgan wanted to get Nia Mitchell out of there as quickly as possible. Otherwise, if the CEO arrived and saw Nia Mitchell pouring water for everyone...

Ugh, he didn’t dare to imagine what the already furious CEO would do.
