Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 194: Chapter 193: The Merger of Two Groups in the Secretary Department

Shirley Grant looked confused, somewhat unsure what this decision meant.

Is it because Phoebe Walker was transferred, and Team A was left leaderless, so it was temporarily left in her care?

Alan Morgan shook his head.

”From now on, there will no longer be Team A or Team B in the Secretary Department. For the time being, you will be solely responsible. After a one-month probation period, I’ll see if any changes are needed.”

This was also Maxwell Peary’s decision. If there wasn’t any competition between the two teams, the Secretary Department should see less conflict than before. When they mentioned a month’s probation, it was actually to give their young sister-in-law some time. After a month, their young sister-in-law wouldn’t be considered a newbie. Moreover, if she truly possessed the ability, she should be able to handle things independently. By then, she could be given complete control of the Secretary Department, and he could relax. HAHA!

Shirley Grant nodded, her eyes sparkling.

She was determined to work hard and do her absolute best in her current position.

Just as Alan Morgan was about to leave, Shirley Grant was suddenly overcome by an impulse and stopped him.

”Do you need anything else?”

Alan Morgan paused, looking at Shirley Grant.

Shirley Grant stood there, feeling somewhat awkward and uneasy.

”Alan, are you free tomorrow?”

She hesitated for a long time but finally asked. There were some things she had wanted to say for a long time. She knew that asking him this in front of so many people might embarrass her. Perhaps, from then on, the people in the Secretary Department would have one more thing to joke about her. But she no longer cared; she also wanted to test whether Alan cared about her reputation, about her lingering feelings.

”I’m busy.”

With those two words, Alan Morgan turned and left. The door to the Secretary Department closed again. Through the transparent door, his retreating figure was clearly visible—resolute and straightforward, as always.

Shirley Grant stood there awkwardly, not saying anything more. After a long time, she slowly sat down.

Phoebe Walker was busy with her work, hurriedly organizing everything, then connecting to the printer to print it all out.

”Nia Mitchell, take these materials to Conference Room One.”

Phoebe Walker ordered Nia Mitchell around without any hesitation; after all, this was her last chance to do so.

Nia Mitchell didn’t say anything else, picked up the documents from the printer, opened the door, and left.

Faintly, she could still hear Phoebe Walker’s taunt:

”Shirley Grant, you’re still so shameless! Look, Special Assistant Morgan didn’t give you the slightest bit of face.”

She held the materials, quickly went to Conference Room One, and then organized the documents, placing them one by one.

Gradually, people from various departments started coming in.

Everyone looked at Nia Mitchell and paused.

Is this a new recruit from the Secretary Department? Meetings held in Conference Room One are usually highly confidential for the Company. That means these documents are also confidential. Usually, Phoebe Walker or Shirley Grant personally arranges them. Why is a new person handling this today?

”Hey, secretary, come and pour each of us a glass of water.”

Seeing that Nia Mitchell was a newcomer, the seated Managers immediately began ordering her around. They wouldn’t dare boss around Phoebe Walker or Shirley Grant. But a newcomer... well, that was a different story.

Nia Mitchell looked up. She was still busy with her tasks, and the Conference Room was already nearly full.

”I’m sorry, I’m quite busy right now. Perhaps you could...”

”So, you’re not going to do as you’re told, is that it?”
