Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 193: Chapter 192: The CEO is Angry

Like a crushed cigarette, the hearts of everyone in the office were shattered and strewn about.

Alan Morgan could only lament, thinking, Boss, just tell me, how many slashes are you going to take at me? Can’t you just get it over with?

Maxwell Peary continued to sit there, exuding an icy mood, his eagle-like gaze falling on Alan Morgan.

”CEO, today’s incidents are due to my incompetence,” he admitted.

He had stood there but failed to prevent the situation from escalating.

He had allowed his sister-in-law to be wronged. He should’ve given his boss the chance to play hero at the very first sign of trouble, but he didn’t.

Maxwell Peary furrowed his brow, coldly scanning all the people present.

”We’ll have a meeting in ten minutes.”

He waved them all out with a sweeping gesture.

”Alan Morgan, you stay.”

Alan Morgan’s back stiffened. Watching as everyone left and the door swung open, he wished he could disappear through the crack.

He was left behind alone! This was frightening. Was the boss finally going to take action?

”Boss?”

After everyone else had left, silence returned to the office, and he could hear his own heart pounding.

”The gown I had you order a few days ago, can it be picked up today?”

Alan Morgan was startled. He hadn’t expected Maxwell Peary to ask about this; it felt... too abrupt.

”Yes, it can be picked up today.”

Maxwell Peary nodded. Good. Of course, he wouldn’t let Little Rabina wear something shabby to tomorrow’s banquet. When he saw Phoebe Walker’s invitation, he knew that even if he didn’t go, Nia Mitchell would definitely attend.

”Pick it up after work tonight, and then deliver it to the Royal Bay Villa.”

Alan Morgan nodded, carefully committing the instruction to memory.

”I’ll let today’s matter slide, for now.”

Nia Mitchell was right. There are some things, some paths, that she must walk herself. He wanted to protect her, but she yearned to take flight.

”You can go out first. Prepare for the meeting in ten minutes.”

Everyone in the Secretary Department watched the executives emerging from the CEO Office.

They all had grim expressions; it seemed they had been collectively reprimanded by the CEO.

One could imagine that CEO Peary’s mood was not good at all. If CEO Peary were to summon someone from the Secretary Department now... wouldn’t it mean... they were doomed!?

Everyone grew anxious, unable to focus on their work.

A few minutes later, Alan Morgan emerged from the CEO Office, visibly relieved as if he had just let out a long-held breath.

However, the meeting in ten minutes still loomed, and it promised to be brutal for everyone.

Alan Morgan turned and went to the Secretary Department, his gaze falling on Phoebe Walker.

”You haven’t officially transferred to the Finance Department yet. First, compile the company’s data for this month. The CEO will need it for the meeting in ten minutes.”

Phoebe Walker nodded. Although she was annoyed that Alan Morgan had assigned this task to her, suspecting he was retaliating, there was nothing she could do. As he’d said, she wouldn’t officially transfer to the Finance Department until next Monday; for now, she was still a secretary. And as a secretary, she had to follow Alan Morgan’s instructions and do what a secretary was supposed to do. She was determined to complete this final task perfectly before her departure, leaving them all with nothing to say.

After Alan Morgan finished speaking, he turned his gaze to Shirley Grant.

”Shirley Grant, starting next Monday, Teams A and B of the Secretary Department will merge into a single team, and you will be in charge of it. Later, coordinate with Phoebe Walker for the handover of work responsibilities.”

Shirley Grant was startled, her head snapping up. She couldn’t quite believe her ears. Hadn’t the Secretary Department always been divided into two teams? Why merge them suddenly? Was it because Phoebe Walker was leaving?
