Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 171: Chapter 170: Dumplings Handmade by the Little Rabbit

Nia was very careful. Bringing Dumplings over was a sudden whim of hers, because she only knew how to make Dumplings.

Maxwell shook his head and reached for the chopsticks.

”No, I like them a lot.”

He leaned down and planted a kiss on her forehead, devoid of romantic intent; he just wanted to kiss her.

Seeing him like this, Nia smiled again and picked up another pair of chopsticks.

”Here, try one.”

She held one out for him, anticipating him putting it in his mouth.

Maxwell nodded, somewhat unsure how to handle this kind of situation. He could only go along with her and eat the Dumpling.

”It’s delicious.”

Actually, the emotional turmoil had left him disoriented; he couldn’t taste the Dumpling he had put in his mouth at all. It was as if he had suddenly lost his sense of taste—a very strange experience.

Nia pouted, watching him continuously pick up one Dumpling after another and pop them into his mouth.

He kept repeating this action. The surroundings were utterly silent, and Nia sat there, pursing her lips.

”Actually, I haven’t had lunch either,” she said, feeling somewhat embarrassed, then reached out with her chopsticks to pick up a Dumpling too.

But it was as if everything was against her; she had wanted to break the awkwardness but only ended up making it even more so. Her chopsticks suddenly wouldn’t obey her, and she couldn’t pick up a Dumpling no matter how she tried.

How can I be this unlucky?! Nia wailed internally.

CLACK!

Nia angrily held her chopsticks vertically and fiercely speared a Dumpling.

Under Maxwell’s gaze, she finally managed to get the Dumpling into her mouth.

Her little face puffed out as she chewed, looking at Maxwell.

”Why didn’t you eat before coming over?” Maxwell looked at her with a hint of reproach. As he spoke, he reached out, poured a glass of water, and placed it in front of her.

Nia took the glass and drank a large gulp, finally managing to swallow the Dumpling in her mouth.

”I was a bit late making the Dumplings today. If I had eaten before coming, wouldn’t you have been starving while waiting for me here?” she explained. In truth, she had a little ulterior motive: she wanted to have a meal with him. She wanted them to eat the Dumplings she had made for him for the first time, together.

Maxwell reached out and gently patted her head. ”Silly girl. Come, have another one.”

He easily picked up a Dumpling with his chopsticks and brought it to her lips. Nia smiled, opened her mouth, and took it.

”In the future, if you’re hungry, eat first, understand?”

Nia nodded fervently.

Pleasant lunchtimes always passed quickly. Afterward, the two of them ended up feeding each other.

After finishing the meal, Maxwell held her as they lay on the large bed in the Waiting Room.

Nia rested her head on his arm, her eyes closed, a faint smile on her lips.

”It’s... so quiet like this.”

Maxwell turned to embrace her, his nose filled with the delicate fragrance emanating from her.

Lying with her on a comfortable large bed for the first time, he didn’t want to do anything. He didn’t want to break this tranquility. He felt an urge to hold her and walk on like this, until the end of time.

But... reality was cruel!

A knock came from outside the Waiting Room. Simultaneously, his phone rang.

Maxwell frowned and reached for his phone. It was Alan.

”You’d better have a good enough reason for interrupting me at this time.” As Maxwell spoke, he got out of bed.

”Boss, the Canadians suddenly changed their minds. They’re willing to make concessions.”

Maxwell scoffed. Do they take us for beggars? Daring to talk about making concessions at this point, just when we’ve found out who attacked Owen Lewis and Annie Davidson?
