Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 152: Chapter 151: Evelyn Peary also has a ferocious side

At these words, everyone turned to locate the source of the voice, only to be surprised to find it was her.

Nia Mitchell incredulously looked at the person standing over there.

”To think I was only gone for a moment, and someone’s already here bullying my sister-in-law.”

Evelyn Peary was furious. Damn it! Why is my sister-in-law always getting bullied when I’m not around? It was like this last time at the Madgar Pavilion, and now it’s happening again over a handbag! If Big Bro found out, he’d definitely ban me from being near my sister-in-law from now on. Then wouldn’t that mean no one would pay for my handbags anymore?

If Nia Mitchell knew what Evelyn Peary was thinking right now, she would probably cough up blood on the spot.

But Nia Mitchell was just as stunned. What on earth did I just hear? Evelyn actually said that seeing Phoebe Harris was an ill omen and even called her a lowly wretch and whatnot. Holy crap! Did I miss something important?

Evelyn Peary, in her ten-centimeter heels, clacked her way over and glanced at Nia Mitchell.

Good, they probably only exchanged harsh words and didn’t dare to get physical.

”You dare bully my sister-in-law? Are you tired of living peacefully?”

Evelyn Peary frowned. She never expected Phoebe Harris to have the audacity to corner Nia Mitchell today.

Phoebe Harris truly hadn’t expected Nia Mitchell to be accompanied by Evelyn Peary. Damn it, I thought she was alone. What should I do now?

”Um... Evelyn, it was Belinda who...”

”Don’t call me Evelyn. You’re not worthy.” Evelyn Peary cut Phoebe Harris off. The sight of Phoebe’s face, creased with wrinkles as she tried to smile, made Evelyn feel particularly uncomfortable.

”I’m telling you, this is my sister-in-law. If I ever hear about you bullying her or anything like that again, just you wait for my brother to deal with you.”

Evelyn Peary rolled her eyes at her and turned to Nia Mitchell.

”Sis, are you okay?”

Nia Mitchell, momentarily stunned, shook her head. ”But... isn’t she your and your brother’s mother?”

Evelyn Peary went ”Pah!” expressing her utter disdain for Phoebe Harris. ”She’s just a lowly wretch. You don’t need to be polite to her if you see her in the future.”

Evelyn Peary was a well-bred person. For her to call someone ’lowly wretch,’ that person must truly be...

”Huh?” Nia Mitchell was bewildered. What does this mean? Could there be more to this than meets the eye? Do all prominent families have their share of skeletons in the closet?

”Just remember, Sis, if that woman says anything outrageous to you, just slap her across the face.” Evelyn Peary then reached out to pull Nia Mitchell away from this toxic place.

”Evelyn.” Belinda Swan approached them, her face a picture of elegance and poise, a smile gracing her lips. ”Long time no see.”

Evelyn Peary looked at her, unmoved by her smile. ”Indeed, it has been a long time. When did you return from the USA?”

Belinda Swan paused, then gave a helpless smile. ”With Maxwell Peary having done something like this, how could I not return? When it comes to him, I’m always the loser.”

Evelyn Peary frowned. The way she said that, it sounded as if Big Bro got married just to force her to come back.

”My brother and my sister-in-law married because they genuinely love each other. Some things are in the past; let them stay there. Besides, you were the one who wanted to go to the USA, weren’t you?”

Although Evelyn Peary had initially doubted her brother’s motives for marrying, after spending the last couple of days with her sister-in-law, she was beginning to let go of those suspicions.
