Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 571: Chapter 571: A Day as a Teacher, a Lifetime as a Father

Seeing her father furiously yelling at her, Jiang Shuying, who had always lived under the shadow of her father’s stern upbringing, couldn’t help but shiver, ”Dad, he... he... is really a master I pledged to.”

”Ridiculous! How did I raise such a daughter who can’t tell right from wrong? You’re killing me, you really are!” Jiang Shangwen trembled with rage.

Wang Lihua hurried forward, holding her husband, and added, ”Alright, Yingying, you say he isn’t your boyfriend, I’ll take your word for it, but how has he become your master? He’s so young! About your age, how can you take him as a master? Aren’t you afraid that our neighbors will know and laugh at our family?”

What the hell, so he can’t be your daughter’s master because they are about the same age? What kind of logic is that?

Ye Haochuan couldn’t help but say, ”Ms. Wang, aren’t you being a bit too harsh? True, I am young, but I also possess genuine knowledge and skills. Your daughter chose to pledge to me of her own free will; I never forced her. If you don’t believe me, why don’t you ask your daughter?”

Wang Lihua, looking frustrated as if she couldn’t forge steel from iron, turned to her daughter, ”Is what he said true?”

Jiang Shuying nodded her head but dared not speak.

Seeing this, Jiang Shangwen and Wang Lihua were so furious they felt like their lungs could burst. Jiang Shangwen exploded, ”This doesn’t count, you must have played some trick, deceiving my daughter. I know my own daughter; she would never commit such a foolish act without being instigated.”

”Haha...”

Ye Haochuan burst into loud laughter again. This time, his laughter was so thunderous that it caused chaos, even the roof tiles of the houses in the compound rattled, leaving Jiang Shangwen and Wang Lihua staring in shock.

”Mr. Jiang, I can’t believe you’ve been teaching all these years, and it seems you’ve regressed rather than progressed. ’Once a teacher, always a father.’ The teacher-disciple relationship between your daughter and myself was established long ago, and it’s not something that can be erased by a mere word from you,” Ye Haochuan declared firmly.

Ye Haochuan snorted heavily.

”You...” Mr. Jiang, indeed a bit old-fashioned, was at a loss for words upon hearing this.

’Once a teacher, always a father’ was a standard deeply ingrained in his heart and something he often taught his students about respecting teachers and valuing their teachings. Now, Ye Haochuan was using that principle against him, putting him in a position where he couldn’t argue back.

Ignoring his anger, Ye Haochuan continued, ”Mr. Jiang, you are Shuying’s father, that’s true, but we are no longer in a feudal society. The say of parents and the matchmaker’s words are no longer applicable. Your daughter can consider your opinions regarding her major personal decisions, but you simply cannot meddle outright. You understand this, don’t you, Mr. Jiang?”

Although he internally admitted that there was reason in Ye Haochuan’s words, Jiang Shangwen, consumed by annoyance, was in no mood to listen and stubbornly said, ”This is a matter of the Jiang Family, and it’s none of your business.”

”Heh, this may be your family affair, but I’m her master now, and naturally, I cannot ignore it,” Ye Haochuan countered immediately.

Listening from the side, Jiang Shuying felt moved yet worried. She didn’t want her master to stick up for her at the cost of antagonizing her parents.

Sensing her feelings, Ye Haochuan turned his head and gave her a slight smile. However, speaking pleasantly and reasonably to her parents, especially with someone as old-fashioned as her father, clearly wasn’t possible. He knew he had to shake them up drastically to enlighten them.

Seeing Jiang Shangwen had completely lost his previous fiery temper, Ye Haochuan continued, ”Mr. Jiang, to put it bluntly, your teaching methods are absolutely unacceptable. ’Strict teachers produce outstanding students,’ sure, but in my view, they’re far too simplistic and crude. Your daughter came all the way here to explain things to you, and what did you do? You beat her down without giving her a chance to explain, immediately starting with accusations. Do you always educate people like this? Let me tell you the truth, if you continue this way, I don’t know how many of the nation’s children will be ruined by your hands.”

That last sentence was extremely harsh. Jiang Shangwen felt like he had been slapped in the face, the sound ringing in his ears. Considering his students were all over the country with countless achievements making him immensely proud, how could he stand such direct criticism?

”You’re just a doctor, what do you know about teaching and educating? What a joke! I don’t care to argue with you!” Jiang Shangwen retorted angrily.

”Don’t care to argue with me? I think it’s clearly because you can’t win the argument against me,” Ye Haochuan snorted.

Just then, an old maid ran hurriedly from outside the mansion, shouting, ”Teacher Jiang, Teacher Jiang, it’s bad, it’s really bad, your youngest son has caused a huge mess...”

Hearing this, Jiang Shangwen, already furious, exploded, ”What? What trouble has that damn fool caused this time?”

The old maid said, ”Exactly, that boy Shuqing of yours was playing outside just now, I don’t know what happened, but he actually hit the Town Chief, Mayor Yao’s son! Now, Mayor Yao’s wife has already brought people here looking for you, they’ll be here shortly, I came especially to inform you...”

”That damn fool! He really can’t stop causing trouble,” Jiang Shangwen gritted his teeth in anger.

Ye Haochuan suddenly burst out laughing, ”Mr. Jiang, isn’t it ironic? You say you know how to teach and educate. How come the education of your son turned out like this?”

”You...” Jiang Shangwen’s face turned red with anger, but the opponent’s words had hit the nail on the head, leaving him unable to retort.

Suddenly, a noisy commotion came from outside, only to hear a woman shouting aggressively, ”You little rascal, this is your house, right? Come, let your mother go in and see your parents. Your mother wants to see what kind of people they are, how they managed to raise someone who fights and bullies at such a young age. Damn, he even dared to bite my son. The world’s turned upside down...”

No sooner had she finished speaking than a young woman, dressed rather flamboyantly, entered, dragging a frail, dark-skinned boy about ten years old by the ear.

However, the boy had a defiant look on his face all along, his expression full of resentment, his eyes fixated on the young woman.

Needless to say, this had to be Jiang Shangwen’s son, Jiang Shuying’s younger brother.

Beside the young woman, there was another boy about the same age, with fair skin and a robust physique, carrying himself with an air of arrogance.

Clearly, this boy was the son of the young woman, previously mentioned by the old maid as Mrs. Yao, the Mayor’s wife.

Behind the young woman followed quite a crowd, apparently onlookers there to watch the drama unfold.

At this moment, Mrs. Yao noticed Jiang Shangwen and others, and cussed loudly, ”Who are this little brat’s parents? Come out right now!”
