Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 565: Chapter 565: As One Wave Subsides, Another Rises

Ye Haochuan’s mind was abuzz with random thoughts when suddenly, from behind came Wang Yingjun’s resentful voice, ”Ye Haochuan, hold up!”

”What’s up?” Ye Haochuan turned around and drawled languidly.

”Give me back my diamond ring.” Now that they had torn their faces apart, Wang Yingjun naturally wanted to reclaim his valuable three-carat diamond ring.

Damn, has this guy gone stupid from studying abroad? The deal was done; how could he possibly take it back?

Ye Haochuan was, of course, aware of the value of that three-carat diamond ring and was reluctant to part with it, but who was he? A little issue like this was nothing he couldn’t handle.

With a quick turn of his eyes, he had an idea and suddenly slapped his thigh, exclaiming, ”Damn, if you hadn’t mentioned it, I would have almost forgotten. My priceless Jade Pendant is still in your possession. Hurry up, give me back my Jade Pendant! As for your piece-of-junk diamond ring that’s only good as a paperweight, I don’t give a damn about it.”

Seeing him react so strongly, Wang Yingjun’s heart tightened. Indeed, the Jade Pendant might look ordinary, but it could save one’s life at a critical moment. Any mishaps could lead to big trouble.

Thinking this, he mimicked Ye Haochuan’s ruffian attitude and shrank back, saying, ”Forget it, forget it; pretend I didn’t say anything.”

Ye Haochuan snickered to himself and insisted, ”That won’t do. My Jade Pendant is a priceless treasure. You must give it back to me.”

Wang Yingjun loathed this Ye Haochuan and, seeing his attitude, naturally refused to return it. Stubbornly crossing his neck, he said, ”What priceless treasure? When did I ever owe you a Jade Pendant?”

”You...” Ye Haochuan deliberately flew into a rage, as if he was about to start a fight.

”Help, assault, assault...” Wang Yingjun immediately raised a loud alarm.

Wang Yan stepped forward to protect him, saying, ”Ye Haochuan, you wouldn’t dare!”

Seeing the situation turn sour, several male waiters of the teahouse immediately surrounded them, ready to intervene in case of a conflict.

Ye Haochuan was inwardly laughing so hard; this bastard really was a fool, to actually treat that ordinary piece of Jade Pendant as a treasure. Although the Jade Pendant was a Talisman Instrument that he had personally crafted, it had a limited number of uses. Before long, it would become as ordinary as could be, and he bet Wang Yingjun would then regret it to the point of turning green with envy, haha.

Thinking this, he said with feigned resentment, ”Damn it, you win!” He then strode away.

Watching Ye Haochuan’s retreating figure, Wang Yingjun secretly breathed a sigh of relief, but Wang Yan was a bit puzzled, ”Young Master Wang, was that ’priceless treasure’ Ye Haochuan mentioned really in your possession?”

”Hmm.” Wang Yingjun nodded, then took out the Jade Pendant from his pocket, holding it as if it was his most prized possession.

Seeing the Jade Pendant in his hands, Wang Yan couldn’t help but feel speechless, saying, ”Young Master Wang, you might have been scammed. This Jade Pendant is as ordinary as it gets. How can it be a priceless treasure?”

”Auntie Wang, you don’t understand, this thing truly is a priceless treasure.” Wang Yingjun then related his dangerous encounter on the street just moments before.

”Does this Jade Pendant really have such magical powers?” Wang Yan was dubious.

”Of course it does.” Wang Yingjun said proudly, but then his expression darkened, ”But never mind that for now, Director Wang, didn’t you say your niece didn’t have a boyfriend? How come Ye Haochuan, that scoundrel, suddenly appeared?”

The moment he addressed her as ”Director Wang,” Wang Yan had a bad feeling and quickly said, ”That... Ah, it’s all because Yingying, that silly girl, doesn’t know better. She got a boyfriend and didn’t even tell me, just picked an ordinary little school doctor.”

Wang Yingjun snorted, obviously very dissatisfied with her.

Wang Yan felt the situation growing increasingly serious; if Eldest Young Master Wang mentioned this to the director, then her position as the newly appointed producer might be stripped away in an instant.

Thinking of this, she hurriedly tried to remedy the situation, ”Young Master Wang, don’t worry, if that brat Yingying doesn’t listen to me, I’ll bring her parents into it. Her parents are indecisive and have always listened to me. Just a word in their ear and they’ll rush over in a frenzy to convince Yingying to give up that lousy kid. That guy has no money, no power, no background, and he’s nothing but hoodlum material, how could he ever compare to our brilliant and powerful Young Master Wang, the son of the director of Haishan TV Station?”

This flattery made Wang Yingjun feel quite comfortable; his expression softened a bit as he snorted, ”That’s right. Ye Haochuan is the epitome of trash, a real scumbag. Miss Jiang would only be asking for misery by following him. All right, I’ll leave this matter to you. If you handle it well, I will naturally say a few good words for you in front of my father, and you might even get a promotion and a raise. But if you don’t handle it well... huh, you know the consequences.”

”I understand, I understand,” Wang Yan said with a smile, reassuringly, ”Rest assured, Young Master Wang, I’ve got this.”

At this very moment, Ye Haochuan had caught up with Jiang Shuying, who had left the teahouse ahead of him.

Seeing her desolate expression, Ye Haochuan couldn’t bear it and said, ”Shuying, are you still upset?”

Jiang Shuying lifted her head to look at him, then suddenly threw herself into his arms and burst into tears.

Damn, this is you throwing yourself into my arms; don’t blame your teacher, alright?

Although Ye Haochuan was a little restless inside, he knew her spirit was at its weakest now, and it wouldn’t be right to take advantage, so he hugged her tender waist and gently patted her back, continuously comforting her.

It took a while before Jiang Shuying felt a bit better. Noticing the peculiar glances of the passersby, she looked at him embarrassedly, then struggled out of his embrace, her eyes brimming with tears, ”Master, was I too harsh on my aunt just now?”

Ye Haochuan sneered, ”I don’t think you were harsh at all. What kind of society are we in now, that we still follow the arranged marriages of feudal times? Matters of the heart are between the two individuals involved. Not to mention your parents should not interfere, and even less so your aunt.”

Jiang Shuying nodded, biting her lip and said, ”But, my aunt is also looking out for my best interests. At least her intentions are good, hoping that I can have a happy future.”

”Shuying, to tell you the truth, I doubt that,” Ye Haochuan scoffed. Based on her aunt’s behavior earlier, she was completely protective of that bastard Wang Yingjun, but was incessantly scolding her. If there wasn’t some self-interest involved, only a fool would believe it!

Jiang Shuying looked at him and said, ”Really?”

”Don’t believe it?” Ye Haochuan smiled faintly, ”How about a bet? I bet that your aunt has made a secret deal with her boss, Director Wang. If she can bring you and the son of Director Wang together, a promotion and a raise for your aunt are almost guaranteed.”

”That...” Jiang Shuying frowned.

Actually, she had her suspicions about this too. Her aunt had been with Haishan TV Station for seven or eight years as just a regular employee and had only suddenly become a producer very recently. It was hard to believe there weren’t connections involved.

Moreover, she had heard quite a bit of speculation among her colleagues that her aunt’s promotion to producer had a lot to do with Director Wang’s support.

Therefore, when her aunt took the initiative to matchmake her with the son of Director Wang, she had a vague feeling that it wasn’t that simple, which is why she refused to agree.

As she was pondering, her phone suddenly rang. She checked it and her expression changed slightly.

Ye Haochuan, curious, glanced at her phone. The caller ID showed it was her mother. He couldn’t help but snicker coldly, damn, that must be Auntie Wang pulling the strings, informing Shuying’s parents to come and exert pressure.

Damn, just as one wave settles, another rises!

Ye Haochuan shook his head.
