Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

”Thinking about that level of war, how could I not be afraid...” Jia Qi slightly clenched her fist.

”But, Uncle, I will personally avenge you!”

Jia Qi’s fighting spirit was boiling.

...

A flash of light streaked across the sky.

Accompanied by this light, a battleship two kilometers long split in two, utterly shattered.

And beside it, there were hundreds, if not thousands, of similarly destroyed battleships!

”The fourth enemy fleet.”

Not far from this shattered fleet, a massive monster with a proboscis seemed to be the culprit for all this.

He was none other than Jia Yan!

He flipped into the superfast battleship in subspace. Now, he already possessed the means to stabilize objects in subspace; otherwise, unlike a black hole, controlling its placement in subspace could potentially be destroyed by the Twisting Strength.

Jia Yan’s mindset was extremely relaxed. During this period, he utilized the gravitational wave system to move quickly. The gravitational wave, compared to subspace propulsion, is much faster; obtaining the speed of the gravitational wave’s surface in subspace requires entering an extremely deep layer, which is impossible even with Jia Yan’s current space talent.

But the gravitational wave system is different — it can achieve extremely high speeds on the surface.

Jia Yan moved with extreme speed across half a light-year, managing to eliminate four enemy forces within half a month.

Such a feat would be utterly impossible with conventional navigation speeds.

This is why everyone mistakenly believed there were many Giant Mosquito Creatures around Earth’s civilization. Even people from the Great Empire did not believe it was possible to achieve such speeds through the gravitational wave system since none of their battleships could withstand prolonged flight within the gravitational wave system.

”Now that the fourth fleet has been destroyed, the last one is estimated to have a battle with an Earth fleet, I hope I reach there before too many casualties occur.”

Although Jia Yan remained relaxed, he didn’t allow his speed to slow, because the last enemy battleship was already close to the edge of the Solar System. Due to the delay in information, Earth might end up engaging in battle with them.

Such a situation would inevitably lead to casualties on Earth’s side, which Jia Yan did not want to see.

Re-entering the gravitational wave system, he rushed towards the direction of the last enemy fleet.

Half a light-year away, even with the technology of Earth people now, without information from another civilization, they might not know these fleets have been annihilated until much later.

As it happens, at the sites of Jia Yan’s battles with the fleets, aside from two discovered by passing exiled civilization ships, the other two went unnoticed, leading everyone to believe several fleets were still advancing towards Earth.

...

”Emergency assembly, emergency assembly, enemy fleets spotted at coordinates a2523, 4819 direction, all combat personnel, please report to your posts.”

On this day, the unavoidable war began.

When the assembly alarm sounded, Doha was having a meal in the canteen, but upon hearing the alarm, he sprang up.

”Doha, assembly, quick!”

The pilot warriors around him all ran tensely, and among them, the top-ranked Doha seemed to be a leading figure.

After all, to the average rookie pilot, Little Thorn Qi’s mysterious origins implied familiarity beyond a first-time Mech pilot. Thus, they placed their trust in Doha, who was also a newcomer and ranked first.

They rushed quickly to the assembly point, finding to their surprise that Little Thorn Qi was already suited up, standing gracefully waiting for them.

”You are late, hurry and line up.” Little Thorn Qi glanced at them, especially nodding at Doha.

To the rookie pilots who rarely saw Little Thorn Qi outside of training, her presence in the combat lineup was puzzling. They had speculated secretly, concluding her identity was unusual, even if her combat prowess was strong, she wouldn’t be dispatched to the front lines.

However, the current scene slightly startled them.

”Alright, rookies, our task is to stay in the rear. If the enemy breaks through the front line of battleships and Mechas, it’ll be our turn. First-timers, are you ready?”

A bald man appeared before the rookies, shouting this declaration.

”Ready!”

The rookie Mech pilots all shouted back, with Little Thorn Qi’s voice, full of heroism, standing out the most.

”Very good.” The bald man especially looked at Little Thorn Qi, a subtle concern flashing in his eyes.

Yet at this moment, he said nothing, nodding slightly at Little Thorn Qi, then announced for all rookies to enter their Mechas!

Doha felt his heartbeat racing much faster than usual at the brink of battle. He had never imagined that, when at the cusp of war, he, who supposedly inherited the warriors’ blood from his parents, would be so nervous.

”Damn it, I shouldn’t be like this. Why are my legs weak...” As Doha walked towards the Mech battle platform, he continually reminded himself not to move forward.

A graceful figure ran past him like the wind.

”Little guy, are you scared? Hehe...” Little Thorn Qi’s mocking voice echoed in his ear.

”I’m not scared at all!” Doha roared, then dashed madly towards his mecha.

The platform before him housed hundreds of mechas, each over twenty meters tall, reminiscent of the sci-fi movies from Earth before the onset of crises, stirring one’s blood with excitement.

Beside these hundreds of humanoid mechas, hundreds of new and experienced pilots, filled with battle spirit and anticipation, orderly entered their mechas, awaiting orders.

The tall mechas required a lift platform to ascend to the cockpit.

On the lift platform, feeling its sway, Doha swallowed hard and glanced at the unique pink mecha beside him.

This mecha, despite a similar design, differed in its color and the peculiar bulge at the back hinting at a unique structure.

And on the pink mecha’s lift platform, Little Thorn Qi was rising too, showing she was its master.

Recalling her earlier teasing, anger surged within Doha as he glanced at her.

”Good luck, don’t die, Doha.” Contrary to her earlier disdainful gaze, Little Thorn Qi softly whispered from tens of meters away, then flipped into her opened mecha.

”Uh...” Doha paused, realizing that Little Thorn Qi had deliberately provoked him, giving him encouragement.

Inside the mecha’s control cabin, as the cover closed, Doha silently wished, ”You don’t die either, Xiao Qi.”

All the newcomers were taking deep breaths, knowing full well this war was destined to be a fight with overwhelming odds, yet they would not retreat nor fear for their lives.

That’s exactly how warriors should be.

”Uncle, bless me...”

Contrary to Doha’s belief, inside the pink battleship, Jia Qi’s hands trembled while she picked up the cheap cartoon pendant Jia Yan gifted her on her birthday, praying fervently.

But the war would not cease because of their novices’ prayers, and five minutes after the alarm sounded, a massive explosion resonated throughout the battleship!

The war has begun!

”The mother ship has been hit by an enemy cannon, losing seventy percent of its defense shield energy, and there’s energy instability in the propulsion engines. Requesting to deploy mecha units for interference as the mother ship retreats.”

In the battleship command room, a voice from the command auxiliary system sounded.

Then, the chief commander of the mother ship paused, then nodded with a bitter smile.

”Release them. Princess Jia Qi, don’t turn me into a total loss location.”

He smiled bitterly, knowing the presence within the mecha units, that even if the entire fleet perished, her life would matter above all. Yet now, in the heat of war, he had to abide by wartime protocols.

”Mecha pilots, prepare to be released for battle in three seconds. Good luck.”

Inside the mecha, Jia Qi heard the voice and held her breath!

”Is this the pre-battle tension? The feeling Uncle experiences before every fight?”

Jia Qi looked at her tightly clamped, yet trembling palms against the mecha, with her lips pressed tightly, seemingly gritting her teeth.

She felt nervous, her overly tense emotions affected her state.

Then she glanced again at the hanging cartoon pendant.

”Don’t be afraid, Jia Qi, you are the Orion Arm’s foremost strong one, Jia Yan’s niece!”

”Jia Yan’s niece, fear battle? Jia Yan’s niece, dread fight?”

”No! Because I’m Jia Qi! Because I carry Jia’s blood!”

The spirited Jia Qi returned, remembering the scenes from years ago when her uncle led her to the Solar System’s edge to fend off the Auster Empire’s fleet.

The girl let out a clear shout, precisely at the three-second mark, as the hatch before the mecha suddenly opened, thrusting her pink mecha fiercely outward!

Simultaneously, Doha beside her was similarly ejected out the hatch.

And alongside, hundreds of mechas piloted by fellow mech warriors were thrust outward in unison.

From a cosmic view, the scene was exceedingly spectacular as the two-kilometer-wide mother ship opened its hatches on both sides, with hundreds of battle mechas with metallic gleam spilling out like dumplings, scattering in all directions...

”Newcomers, follow me, to battle!” At the forefront of the rookie team, the bald man inside the first ejected mecha shouted.

”Battle!”

Responding to him was a resounding chorus from over two hundred rookie pilots, including Jia Qi.
