Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1236: Chapter 23 Mortals, Daily Life [Second Update]

Jia Yan didn’t get annoyed by what the beautiful lady said, but just smiled.

A few days ago, he left the Auster Empire and directly came to this Starfield, with the purpose of observing the situation changes within the Auster Empire from close by.

Over these days, he heard of the Biochemical Empire Strong Ones attacking the capital of the Auster Empire, and even more, the emergence of countless Biochemical Empire Strong Ones throughout the Auster Empire’s territory.

The Strong Ones of the Biochemical Empire appeared like bamboo shoots after rain, one by one Strong Ones whose names hadn’t been heard before in this Starfield, and then they occupied one Management Star after another in the Auster Empire.

Only a few Management Stars failed, such as the one that Jia Yan had been at before. After he killed the Pinnacle of Space Level Expert there, the Management Star immediately adjusted its defense level, especially with the arrival of two Starry Sky Level Experts, the offensive of the Biochemical Empire was also blocked there.

Other Management Stars either happened to have powerful Auster Empire Strong Ones, or their Defense Power was launched that they barely withstood the Biochemical Empire’s first wave of attacks.

However, Jia Yan didn’t think that the Auster Empire could defend against the Biochemical Empire’s offensive.

Not only because of the difference in the strength of the Strong Ones.

It was more because of that ’Artificial Black Hole’!

Jia Yan was able to control this black hole, so it was not surprising that there was no existence capable of controlling it within the Orion Arm for the Biochemical Empire, but they surely had similar methods of control and use.

And if this immensely powerful Black Hole Force appeared on the battlefield...

The thought alone left Jia Yan with a dry mouth and parched tongue.

Fortunately, he had some experience dealing with black holes of this Level, especially here in the Three No-Care Area, where he summoned the ’Black Hole’ Power time after time, annihilating his enemies, and gaining more assurance on how to Control Power of this kind.

”This black hole, I can now seal it in Subspace, and when I want to use it, just open a gap in Subspace, and I’ll be able to annihilate the enemy.”

Jia Yan looked behind himself, although there was a Path behind him, especially the beautiful lady by the electric pole who made eyes at him when she saw Jia Yan look back. But what Jia Yan was looking at wasn’t the Path, and certainly not her!

What others could not see was that, behind his back in the Subspace, there was a huge object like a balloon of several hundred meters in diameter that followed behind Jia Yan.

Such precise Space Control Power required very meticulous Spatial Strength. If not for Jia Yan’s True Body having reached a profound level of Space Control among the Dignitaries, his Avatar wouldn’t have been able to conduct such precise manipulation.

”Today’s scene in the bar further indicates that my method of using this black hole has become even more powerful.”

A gleam flashed in Jia Yan’s eyes.

The limitation of his Avatar was that it could not replenish its strength, and if it continued fighting non-stop, it might run out of power in a year or two.

But with this Artificial Black Hole, it was different.

He only needed to control the Black Hole Force well; opening and closing the Subspace, and using the Black Hole Force against enemies would significantly reduce the consumption of his own Power.

As Jia Yan contemplated these matters, he continued to move forward.

This little star of the Three No-Care Area had a chaotic array of buildings and was rife with violence and crime.

But all of this was unrelated to Jia Yan; he neither started trouble nor was afraid of it here. Since his arrival was recent, his name hadn’t yet spread throughout this Starfield. However, an urban legend named ’Dark Hair’ was gradually being circulated by some forces on this planet.

Rumors say that Dark Hair has boundless strength, and no Strong One has been able to take more than a few moves against him.

The Power of Dark Hair is also very strange, it seems to activate a Gravity Talent, and everything around him is overwhelmingly absorbed, even Sky-level Strong Ones get directly sucked in, leaving not even a corpse to be found!

Whether people believe in the rumors about Dark Hair or not varied, but most local forces on the planet knew that a Star Sky Level above being must have come to this planet, and he was the true identity of ’Dark Hair’!

But no matter how these powers speculated, Jia Yan wouldn’t pay them too much attention. To him, this tiny planet was destined to be just a temporary landing spot, and it might soon be forgotten.

After midnight, Jia Yan arrived at a dilapidated three-story wooden house.

This was his temporary shelter on this planet.

”Mo Ke, come over, I’m free today. Come in and sit, I’ll give my neighbor a discount,” said a voice from the woman in the room next door as he unlocked the key to a small room in his three-story building. Then Jia Yan saw the room door next door open, and a pretty girl poked her head out.

She was about the equivalent of an eighteen or nineteen-year-old Earth person, with innocent facial features, but her clothes were somewhat drab.

Her big eyes should be innocent, but now they were trying to put on the guise of a mature woman, which caused Jia Yan to frown.

”Xiao Ya, I’ve told you I wouldn’t do such things with you, go look for someone else if you want customers,” Jia Yan said helplessly, shaking his head, and proceeded to enter his own room.

He regretted that, with his means, he could have chosen any kind of house to live in, but he picked out the most rundown house temporarily, wanting to experience the common poor life that he hadn’t felt in a long time.

It was for this reason that he had seen all sorts of bizarre creatures; his neighbor was such a young girl who worked in a ’special’ line of work.

Female Auster beings, like this neighbor of his, translated to an Earth person’s age would be around twenty-five or twenty-six, so Jia Yan didn’t think that the girl was a real child. Since she was in her twenties, she had to take responsibility for her own life and choices.

”Hmph, as if I would fancy your patronage,” the girl, who looked like a young child, closed the door firmly upon hearing Jia Yan’s direct refusal.

Jia Yan shook his head and walked into his own room.

”Never mind, it’s also a kind of novel experience,” he said to himself as he settled down to sit cross-legged in the room.

But Jia Yan was too strong; even without deliberately sensing anything, he could still hear the crying of the girl next door.

”Xiao Xun, I will definitely save enough money to get you out,” that was Xiao Ya’s voice from just now.

”Uh?”

Jia Yan was startled, then he helplessly closed his eyes again.

Every species has its wretched and its high-ranking individuals; Jia Yan is no saint, he did not want to interfere with anything.

Sorrow juxtaposed with joy makes happiness possible. Wretches exist so that others may know fortune. Such is the inevitable state for all species. It’s like the natural selection among wild animals, something Jia Yan preferred to avoid.

Similar situations, he could sense whenever he wanted by using his Brainwave Power on this lawless planet, constantly happening.

The next day, Jia Yan went out at the break of dawn as usual.

Xiao Ya, the neighbor next door, opened up her place for business at the same time.

Jia Yan just nodded at her as he opened the door, not caring whether she responded, and then left.

Gathering information on this planet sometimes isn’t as simple as just using one’s Power; he needed to actively observe the surrounding creatures, especially the refugee spacecraft from the Auster Empire. Seeing data with his own eyes made it far more detailed.

”The number of Auster people escaping here has been increasing these past few days. It seems that the internal collapse of the Auster Empire is about to begin.”

Seeing many spaceships arriving on this lawless planet and more Auster people wandering the streets and alleys, Jia Yan knew something must have happened within the Auster Empire.

After spending a day gathering information, he returned to his rental place at night.

”Huh?”

As he approached his door, he looked at the neighbor’s with surprise.

Inside the room, a girl had hung a rope from the top of her room, kicked away the chair with a shove of her legs, and hung herself like that!

Jia Yan’s key stopped halfway in the lock.

The girl next door was kicking violently, her face turning purple, and it seemed she would soon suffocate.

”Alas...”

Jia Yan sighed deeply.

He felt his heart was a bit too soft, perhaps it was because the girl looked too young, or maybe because she resembled Earth people. Either way, he felt a compulsion to help.

Jia Yan approached her front door.

With a gentle twist of the door handle, the locked handle snapped.

After a crack, Jia Yan, hands behind his back, slowly walked into the neighbor’s room.

The room had a foul stench, although there were some girly accessories, it still had a touch of adulthood.

Jia Yan walked to the inner room, which was simple, nothing special beside a bed.

He saw the neighbor called Xiao Ya hanging by the wooden partition next to the bed.

Her eyes bulged, her tongue outstretched, her face purple, almost out of breath.

Jia Yan looked at her, then extended his fingers into the air.

With a pop!

The rope snapped, and Xiao Ya fell limply from the rafters to the ground.

Jia Yan did not soften her fall; a person who sought to end their own life, if they couldn’t feel even a bit of pain, wouldn’t so easily change their mind.

”Cough, cough!” Xiao Ya fell to the ground, coughing violently.

”Let me say this first, if you want to die, please wait until I’m gone. But as long as I’m home, I won’t let you succeed because I don’t want to witness that scene.”

Jia Yan looked at Xiao Ya on the floor, dropped those words, then turned to leave the distasteful room.

Maybe she was pitiable, but was she more pitiable than him during his rebirth? As a tiny mosquito, he had survived; was there anything more difficult than that?

”Mo Ke! I knew it; you’re a Strong One, aren’t you? I knew it!” Xiao Ya suddenly cried out from behind.

Jia Yan let out a cold laugh, then continued walking out of the house.

She said he was a Strong One; it was easy to tell, a being who had become an Earth Level Existence may not seem much different from ordinary creatures, but becoming a Sky Level Existence, even just walking among a crowd, some innate aura of the Strong Ones would subtly show unless deliberately concealed.

Jia Yan had concealed it, but it was hard to not be discovered after interacting with someone for many days.

But what if she had discovered it?

”Please, save my sister,” Xiao Ya suddenly shouted out.

Thank you ’Tragic Aquarius’ brother for another 1000 Starty Coins!!

(Also, the recent plot may truly be a bit unpleasant, we will speed up to move past these parts, sorry about that.)
