Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1228: Chapter 15 Employment. [Triple Release 3/3]

Jia Yan sighed inwardly, feeling that he still lacked calmness, a grave shortcoming for one of the Strong Ones!

However, he harbored no regret for rescuing the family of Auster people.

Even though his purpose in coming here was to confront the Auster Empire, he never intended for the empire’s civilians to perish.

Especially because this family reminded him of his own, and the perseverance shown by the young boy was vaguely familiar, prompting him to intervene.

”Lord, thank you for your intervention,” the young boy, aware of Jia Yan’s formidable power that must have scared off a gang of robbers, quickly approached to express his gratitude.

”It’s nothing. How is your family doing? Have you checked on them?” Jia Yan waved his hand dismissively, considering the incident a minor episode that didn’t even require him to expend any power.

”My family is alright, though my sister was terrified.”

The boy turned around to see his three family members slowly regaining consciousness while his sister cried loudly.

”Alright, you should go and look after your family,” Jia Yan signaled the boy to leave.

With Jia Yan’s permission, the boy hurriedly went to tend to his family, clearly a child who valued familial bonds deeply.

Jia Yan started to walk around the living area.

His actions were only observed by the young boy, so the surrounding Auster people still thought he was an ordinary resident.

”Young man over there, yes you! Everyone is suffering, won’t you come over and help!” An elderly woman called out to Jia Yan.

”Uh.” Jia Yan paused, then smiled and walked over to the woman.

It turned out that a group of people were trying to rescue a man buried under a collapsed building.

With the uncertainty of whether large machinery could still function and not knowing the extent of the man’s injuries from the attackers, they needed to act quickly or he might die.

Jia Yan approached and saw that everyone in the crowd was genuinely trying to help, not holding anything back.

However, the strongest among the group barely touched the margin of Earth Level strength; their combined efforts barely lifted the heavy debris a little.

When Jia Yan stepped forward, his arm on the debris,

”Let’s lift! Everyone, put in more effort!” a man shouted excitedly.

Then, a massive chunk of the building wreckage was lifted by the crowd. Of course, Jia Yan exerted the most strength discreetly, unnoticed by anyone.

”Thank you all.” The man who was rescued appeared to be less injured than expected, and, being of Earth Level existence, he quickly joined in another rescue effort.

Jia Yan looked around in amazement at the residents he was among; it was evident they truly wished to help others.

”Alright, here’s the list of deceased. Even though the enemy retreated quickly, the casualties were still severe.”

After a tense rescue, a group of Auster people gathered. A few individuals at the peak of Earth Level existence, forming a leadership group, convened a meeting.

Jia Yan was also among the crowd, calculating the numbers and discovered there were about ten thousand Auster people present, not counting those who died.

”Alright, although many of us have died, we must proceed as initially planned. We need to send people to Management Star and report that this living space is viable; fifteen thousand of us have lived here for ten years without any abnormalities, and this project must receive central support!”

Jia Yan understood the situation from the discussions.

It turns out this so-called living area was an idea concocted by a group of scientists. They constructed this massive living space which, although forgotten, proved viable over ten years. When they tried applying for a larger population migration plan and more extensive project support, the interstellar star thieves attacked!

”We must go and apply for this project as a large-scale pilot. If successful, it could potentially spread the entire Auster Civilization throughout the stars, like sowing seeds in all directions. What a wonderful idea, so no matter what, we must ensure this project is approved!”

”Last time our applications were all denied, and even if we go this time, it won’t be approved. Moreover, we no longer have a candidate to go to Management Star; the journey requires passing through an asteroid field, fraught with danger and inhabited by some powerful Foreign Races and even our own interstellar wanderers and star thieves. Recently, our living area’s strongest Heaven-level existence, Lord Rukong, was killed in battle; who do we have strong enough to get through?”

The residents of the living area, all somewhat distressed.

In reality, they weren’t just residents but the scientists of the entire living area, and only they had managed to live here for so many years without major incidents.

”Ladies and gentlemen, I know a Lord whose power is formidable.” Just when all the residents seemed to be at a loss, a youthful voice rang out.

The crowd turned to look and saw the young boy who had fought bravely earlier stepping forward.

”Xiao Heng, who are you talking about? We know everyone in our living area. Where did such a Strong One come from?” The residents were fond of the child, teasing him a bit.

”This Lord’s strength must be sufficient; let’s hire him.”

The boy turned out to be the one Jia Yan had just saved, and at that moment, he pointed directly at Jia Yan.

It turned out that the child had been observing Jia Yan, the Strong One, in secret. Although he knew that Jia Yan would be aware of it, he also believed that the Strong One wouldn’t do anything to him.

Otherwise, why would he save these ten thousand and more people?

What he didn’t know was that Jia Yan’s rescue was just a spontaneous act. If something really crossed his desires, he wouldn’t have any psychological burden in killing these ten thousand people, as they were merely from the Auster people after all.

Jia Yan was indeed in the crowd, and he did not expect that the boy would directly expose him. He frowned slightly at this moment.

”Hey, how come I have never seen this person before? Although I can’t remember all of the ten thousand people, I have absolutely no recollection of him. Could he be a remainder of those star thieves?!”

The crowd, still frightened like birds startled by the mere twang of a bowstring at the mention of star thieves, suddenly paled and stepped back when they heard that Jia Yan could potentially be one.

Some even drew their weapons.

Jia, however, remained unfazed. Of course, at his Realm, if ordinary firearms could still harm him, his long devotion to growing stronger would have been in vain.

”Everyone, don’t worry, this Strong One is not a bad person. The departure of the interstellar star thieves just now might have been helped by this Strong One,” the boy quickly jumped out.

It seemed the boy held some status among the residents of the living area, and at his words, they all calmed down and didn’t make a move against Jia Yan.

Seeing that Jia Yan showed no signs of anger, the boy quickly explained to the residents nearby.

”So you are such a formidable Strong One, thank you for rescuing our people in the living area.”

The people of the living area, although not very powerful themselves, were like scientists and had seen much of the world. Listening to the boy’s description, they understood immediately and really believed that it might have been Jia Yan who had helped them.

”It’s nothing, I just acted on a whim.” Jia Yan looked around at the Auster people, his reason for still remaining here was just to see if the relationships here were genuine.

But seeing now, the people living here cared for one another, which slightly improved Jia Yan’s opinion of them.

Humans always yearn for beautiful things, and seeing a place with good interpersonal relationships makes one want to watch for a little longer.

But he did not expect that after a consultation among the leading figures of the living area, they came straight to Jia Yan with a direct request.

”Lord, we request to employ you as a Guard. Lead a team to the Management Star for us. Once there, we’ll allocate half of next year’s budget to you!”

”Management Star?” Jia Yan did not immediately refuse, nor was he surprised. Since their discussion was hidden away, no word could escape Jia Yan’s ears.

”That’s right, Management Star. In our Auster Empire, every Starfield has a Management Star controlling and passing all the administrative matters. Our living area’s technological construction needs a larger budget from the Management Star to quickly become a project benefiting our Auster Empire. We hope, Lord, that you can help us.”

At this point, it seemed the surrounding people considered Jia Yan as one of the Auster people and continuously pleaded with him.

”By the way, I’ve heard that something recently happened on the Management Star. They warned us to beware of a supposed Earth messenger from the Ru Lan Empire, claiming to be a Heaven-level existence. Additionally, they’ve set up a dreadful weapon on the Management Star in our Starfield, supposedly to counter that Strong One. If you don’t help us, it’s possible that when that Strong One appears, he will kill us all. Save us completely, please help us!”

A figure who seemed like a top official of the entire living area kept making appeals to Jia Yan.

Although he couldn’t see how powerful Jia Yan was, the aura of a Strong One was recognizable. He hadn’t noticed Jia Yan’s strong aura before, but after the boy mentioned Jia Yan’s strength, he began to perceive it more and more, realizing Jia Yan’s immense power.

Now he used the big hat of protecting the future of the Auster Empire to press for Jia Yan’s agreement to protect him. Of course, this high official was mistaken; Jia Yan was not one of the Auster people.

But Jia Yan was momentarily taken aback by the high official’s words.

”A special weapon to counter the ’Earth messenger’? Interesting...” A glint flashed in his eyes.

”Alright, I accept your request!”
