Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3988  Descending The Chasm

Davis let go of her lips and smiled at her. His Lea was so adorable even within the darkness. He kissed her forehead and turned to look around, noticing a small spirit watching them.

It was just a wisp and was concealed, but he could sense its undulations, which were at Level Nine Immortal Emperor Stage.

ʼItʼs a Heaven-Tier Spirit…ʼ

Davis was intrigued. To be precise, it was not a spirit but still a spirit attribute source. He was unable to recognize what kind of heaven-tier darkness spirit attribute source it was, but he could tell it was barely away from undergoing its spirit tribulation to become an Empyrean Stage Spirit Attribute Source or a humanized version of itself. He saw that it was just watching and, through Heart Intent, made sure it didnʼt have hostile intentions, so he decided not to trap or kill it.

He turned around and aided Tia, Mystic Diviner Hailac, and Illumina a bit by providing them his light energy, barely enough to allow them to resist the darkness energy by themselves.

Meanwhile, Stella silently and cheekily giggled. She vaguely saw Davis and Lea kissing and was full of warm emotions.

”Everyone okay?

”Yes~” A chorus of whispers could be heard from the ladies.

”Then letʼs continue.”

Davis nodded and led them.

To others, it may seem like he was dragging along five female slaves with the soul force he tied over their wrists. However, only the women could tell how secure those soul force strands made them feel. Without it, the darkness wouldʼve long engulfed them, causing them to go insane and die.

Davis could use light energy to light the way, or Lea could even do that with her flames. However, it would just disrupt the atmosphere and make them the target of all the lifeforms here. Even the lifeforms with a neutral attitude would be offended, so they didnʼt. They treaded these caverns while being bathed in the thick, darkness energy, taking it as a trial.

*Waghu~*

A low growl abruptly erupted from a crevice to the side when they tried to pass a narrow curve.

A strange beast, a two-meter tall quadrupedal beast with a curved blade on its head for a horn, abruptly shot towards them. It spun crazily as it unleashed an extremely sharp darkness blade, seeking to slice them up into two.

However, Davis extended his hand out and caught its curved blade with his bare fingers and threw it to the side with extreme force, causing it to crash.

*Boom!~*

It made the cave rumble ever so lightly.

The beast slid down and shook its head, shaking off the concussion it had just received before glaring at Davis.

Davis also looked at it, his eyes swirling into twin dark vortexes as he unleashed a retrograde version of the Soul-Devouring Doom Eyes, a Divine Technique.

It put the strange beast into a spell, causing it to go limp as it fell. It twitched for a while before it stopped moving, appearing to be dead.

Tia, Mystic Divine Hailac, and Illumina were still like a statue, shocked beyond compare. They barely managed to recognize its presence with their karmic abilities, but it was too late by the time they reacted.

17:33

A Level One Empyrean Stage entity just rushed out of a crevice to assassinate them. Because it concealed itself and didnʼt release an area of effect attack, they were safe. Otherwise, they wouldʼve died from its undulations alone. But little did they know that Davis was aware of it the whole time and was on guard.

”Itʼs a darkness-attribute feline feral beast that had reached the Empyrean Beast Stage… wonderful…”

Davis bent and scanned its body. He was quite intrigued again. It was his first time seeing a Feral Beast this strong.

Feral Beasts were not categorized to be Magical Beasts or Savage Beasts.

Feral Beasts were Magical Beasts whose bloodline purity was so low that their bloodline couldnʼt be tracked to a certain race. They were a mix of many bloodlines, sometimes with one vague bloodline at the top, but it still wouldnʼt be enough to categorize them as an actual magical beast.

And unlike mindless Savage Beasts, they had a tiny amount of sentience and could hunt with their instincts better. Hence, it hid like a tiger leaping out of a bush to snap the neck of its prey in one move.

However, Davis doubted one thing.

How did this Feral Beast with a low bloodline purity enter the Empyrean Stage? Feral Beasts possessed even greater restrictions for growth than Magical Beasts, so how was it possible that it entered the Empyrean Stage?

He felt a chill to think that its fornicating parents could be at a stage above the Empyrean Stage, coming from beyond the rift. It would then make sense that it was at the Empyrean Stage. Or-

ʼOr is it due to the thick darkness energy available here…?ʼ Davis inwardly asked himself and wished it was the case.

Otherwise, he might find himself in trouble in the seventh level. Although there was the prowess restriction from the Void Dimension, who knew the entirety of the loopholes that could be taken advantage of?

The World Masterʼs existence was one such loophole.

This brought Davisʼs thoughts to a standstill.

He stored the carcass of this feral beast and was about to move forward.

However, he heard a faint murmur behind him and could no longer ignore it.

”Illumina, youʼre drooling…”

”Huh…?”

Illumina reacted slowly. When she realized it, her expression froze, and she hurriedly wiped her face.

”I apologize. I didnʼt mean to.”

Davis chuckled. He brought the carcass out and passed it over to her.

”You donʼt need to hold back when youʼre with me. Although I canʼt give you the King-Tier Dark-Winged Tigerʼs magical beast core as itʼs reserved for Mingzhi, I can give you this. Iʼll make use of you as much as you want, so eat up and become powerful.”

Illumina received the feral beast in her arms.

It was big but not so much to her endless appetite. Her blood was boiling, screaming at her to sink her fangs into this beast. She was a darkness, and yin attributed magical beast, after all.
