Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3960  Taiwuʼs Fate

Davis caught Master Taiwu by his hair and stared at him after the two Dark Apostles left.

Their eyes met, and even before Davis could say anything, Master Taiwuʼs lips quivered.

”I… I will become your loyal slave. Please spare me.”

”…”

Davis narrowed his brows.

That was too fast. He hadnʼt even let out a word yet, but judging through Heart Intent, he knew Master Taiwu had already fully submitted.

He swore he wasnʼt that scary to talk to, but considering that he was indeed going to kill him, he guessed the other party knew how to survive.

”Are you a businessman or what?”

”…”

Davis asked, causing Master Taiwu to not know what to say before his gaze flickered. His expression changed. He looked as though he saw the light at the end of the tunnel before he gasped, catching his breath even though he had no lungs.

”I… I can be your loyal slave but also a person who enriches your family with a great amount of resources. I have many connections, from underground forces to realm masters. Even with the current Emperor of the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm, I had negotiations. Although I failed, I know a lot of people who may have the resources your dark eminence desires. If you can give me a chance, I will prove myself to be your greatest asset and your greatest reliance!”

Master Taiwuʼs voice shuddered, but as he spoke, he appeared to gain immense confidence. His soul as a trader burned with fervor.

Still, he felt he had to prove his usefulness no matter what, so he sold himself.

Davis appeared unconvinced, ”I donʼt know… I just hacked your son into pieces and made him suffer hell. What makes you think I wouldnʼt consider retaliation from you at my weakest moment?”

”Never! That piece of shit isnʼt my son. I have disciplined him so many times, but he refused to listen, always creating trouble, after which I would have to use my wealth and connections to appease people.”

”Appease? Donʼt you mean threaten?”

Davis sneered, ”I know how much you care about your son, and I donʼt blame you for feeling that way, but your son has reaped the consequences and will die soon. I will spare you if you can end what started this mess.”

He walked and stood before the half-bodied and bloodied Young Master Taiwu, who was still unconscious, and raised Master Taiwuʼs head, pointing at his son.

”Go ahead. Destroy his soul with whatever attack you want to make. I will not only spare you but also leave you alone even if you were to tell the world the Divine Emperor of Death was here.”

”…!”

Master Taiwuʼs expression trembled. He glared at his son with intense hate for bringing this upon him. His eyes gleamed with a ray of light as though he was going to laser through his sonʼs head. The glow increasingly became bright. Even tears fell.

Eventually, the glow faded, and Master Taiwu closed his eyes. Clenching his teeth, he cried miserably.

”Kill me…”

”…”

Davisʼs brows narrowed. He was unamused as this father really loved his trash son. The father was indeed greedy for wealth, but he had something above it. It was his son.

The father wasnʼt exactly an upright businessman, but he followed the rules and didnʼt make it difficult for people. However, the son was just the opposite, throwing his weight around and harassing people with severe crimes on his head.

Davis didnʼt have the thought of sparing the son one bit, but at the moment-

”His usefulness outweighs his death, huh?”

Mingzhi came to his side and sent a soul transmission.

She remained silent the entire time after the two Dark Apostles visited until they left.

”Indeed.” Davis nodded, ”Our family would benefit extremely if someone like Taiwu could work for us. The resources would pour in as long as we use enough wealth, making us grow stronger. He can also exchange the trillion of immortal crystals we have for resources without getting caught. What do you think?”

”I think what youʼre doing is right, but ask Frostrose. Iʼm angry in her stead, but if she can forgive him, all is good.”

Davis nodded again as he agreed with Mingzhi.

However, he already knew Frostrose was forgiving enough of her soft personality. Still, he asked Frostrose.

”Frostrose, do you think we should spare the guy who harassed you?”

”Although he deserves death for trying to force me, I wasnʼt even harmed, so I couldnʼt produce too much hate even if I wanted to. If you want to use his father by keeping his son prisoner, go ahead.”

Frostrose spoke in a mild voice.

Davisʼs lips parted lightly. She was like a bystander who kept watch from the void. After all, she managed to see through his thoughts. He couldnʼt believe how perceptive she was, reminding him of Ice Phoenix Clanʼs previous Sect Master, Cyclonis Blizzara.

ʼAre Ice Phoenix really that smart…?ʼ

Davis started wondering if it was a racial trait. After all, Fire Phoenixes seemed fiery dumb in comparison.

Nonetheless, he came back to his senses and turned the severed head towards him.

The great master of the Opulent Shell Company now looked like a snot-faced brat who shed tears and mucus.

Davis couldnʼt help but move him away with a bit of disgust.

”You will become my loyal slave, but your son will sleep for ten thousand years and suffer torture for ten years as punishment. If you donʼt agree, thatʼs fine, as I will send the both of you to the reincarnation cycle.”

”…”

Master Taiwu still sniffled, but only after a few seconds did he realize the meaning behind Davisʼs words, causing him to turn shocked. His eyes widened like saucers, and tears were still flooding.

”Your dark eminence, do you mean…?”

”Do you want to die?” Davis grimaced, ”Stop calling me dark eminence.”

”…!” Master Taiwu almost cried again.

Didnʼt the Divine Emperor of Death just agree to become the Fifth Dark Apostle? Why was he wrong? However, from their speech, he understood the Divine Emperor of Death wasnʼt the type of man who acted willfully evil.

”Yes, yes. Please forgive me, your eminence. I will agree to all your demands!”

Master Taiwu couldnʼt look any more joyous. He seemed to have finally exited the dark tunnel he was trapped in.

”Very well.”

Davis nodded. Then he cast Judgment Laws and even placed a slave seal. He was now strong enough to place slave seals on Empyreans and Autarchs. They would completely be his slaves, unable to retaliate in many ways, even subtle ones, unless they had multiple layers to their devious plan to strike against him in the most subtle way, which wasnʼt possible for a trader. Besides, as long as he had Taiwuʼs weakness with him, Reiwu, the other party, would never think about retaliating.

Thatʼs why he imposed a ten thousand year sleep imprisonment for Young Master Reiwu. He even felt it was short, but he didnʼt want to have him in his life ring or mansion for that long.

He let go of Master Taiwuʼs head, allowing him to go reconnect with his body. However, the latter grimaced as he couldnʼt. The wound was too steep to reconnect as the darkness remnant energy still remained.

Davis didnʼt bother and looked at Mingzhi, smiling wryly.

”You look like you want to ask something?”

”You know what Iʼm going to ask.” Mingzhi pouted.

”Donʼt worry.” Davis chuckled, ”Iʼm not leaving for the Upper Realms. It is too dangerous, and because of the restriction of prowess, it is safer here.”

”What is that? Myria also said something similar, but she forgot everything about it.”

”…” Davis nodded, ”It obviously has been burdened by karma, which means the heavens or the Dimensions are involved. I donʼt think it is the heavens since even the Celestial Transcendent couldnʼt move as he pleased. Even he has to suppress himself here.”

”Yeah. Iʼm thinking… is it the Void Dimension…?” Mingzhi blinked.

That was the only Dimension she could think of that had a direct impact on space.
