Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3953  Imprisoned Rabbit

”What else do you think Iʼm standing here for?”

Davis spoke as he chuckled lightly, ”I told you if I had the luxury to care about your plight, I would, didnʼt I?”

”…”

The Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit looked visibly shaken. She couldnʼt utter any words, afraid that whatever she might say would implicate him. She couldnʼt comprehend the scene of him boldly standing in this place instead of running and hiding for his life. Two Autarchs had worked together to capture her, so she knew there was more to this place than meets the eye.

This was a place where benefits converged. Naturally, powerful experts would be here, lurking around to make sure everything was safe.

”Brother, do you know… her…?”

Suddenly, Young Master Reiwu interjected. He looked fairly confused as he looked between Davis and the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit.

Davis ignored him. He smiled at the old acquaintance, ”I never got your name. Perhaps I did think I wouldnʼt meet you again and didnʼt bother to get the name, but now that Iʼm standing before you, I want to know. Whatʼs your name, rabbit in distress?”

”W-What are you doing? Leave….”

The Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit shook her head in disbelief as she took a step back.

”So… what happened to your Empress Lunarisse? Is she fine? Is the treasury of the Lunarisse Family still mine for the taking, or is it already plundered?”

Davis asked a bunch of questions.

”She… sheʼs still alive, but I canʼt find her.” Suddenly, the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit looked all despondent, her eyes carrying immense rage as she cast a glance at Young Master Reiwu.

”I came here to do one thing but got caught.”

Young Master Reiwu sneered, ”What might be that thing other than to find the Divine Emperor of Death, which you miserably failed to? Now that my brother is here, obediently become his partner or even his plaything. You appear to be his acquaintance. Believe me when I say he wonʼt treat you wrong. You wonʼt regret it!”

”…”

The Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit and Davis blinked at him.

”Would you not interrupt?”

”Yes, brother. Take your time…” Young Master Reiwu smilingly took a step back. However, he looked quite confused, even unsure, as though something was odd.

How did this masked Empyrean know of this rabbit? The Divine Emperor of Death had just entered the Immortal Emperor Stage, so it was not possible for his physical body to be at that level. There was news that the Divine Emperor of Death owned a peerless treasure that allowed him to kill those mighty warriors.

However, he still couldnʼt believe it. He felt it was more likely the Heavenly Blight Hall that killed them, and the Divine Emperor of Death was only a minor part of it.

ʼHeh! Iʼm an intellectual who can see through intricacies, so rumors canʼt fool me…ʼ Young Master Reiwu flicked his hair dashingly.

An Immortal King defeating Late Stage Autarchs? On whose ears were they trying to spin a string of flowers? Just who were they trying to fool?

Davis turned to look back at the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit.

”Itʼs fine. You can talk about it, as our guy here would not release anything to the public. Oh- I guess talking while standing between prison bars is in bad taste. You should come out first.”

”No… go away…” The Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit appeared pale.

She couldnʼt believe he still wasnʼt leaving. After all, that fool didnʼt recognize the Divine Emperor of Death, so Davis could use this opportunity to leave and meet her later if fate wills. She couldnʼt believe he was endangering himself.

”What?” Davis raised his brows, ”You didnʼt want me?”

”I did intend to meet… but… not this way… you canʼt be seen…”

The Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit took a step forward and glared at him with clenched teeth. The desperation was clear in her eyes, but she was worried that she would implicate him.

”Ah, donʼt bother.” Davis laughed lightly before he shook his head, ”I suspect an ambush, and Iʼm quite prepared for it, I think. In any case, I donʼt want a loyal person like you to die for no reason, so come out.”

He turned to look at Young Master Reiwu, ”I want her. Release her, would you?”

”Brother, sheʼs truly off-limits. It took me my entire authority to bring you here…”

Young Master Reiwu looked troubled, ”Even now, Iʼm constantly bombarded by messages from the storage keepers to leave. How about this? On the day of the auction, I will help you obtain her as an individual buyer. I will fork out more than thirty percent of the cost. What do you say?”

”…”

Davis heaved a sigh. He canʼt kill him yet.

He turned around and gazed at the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit, ”Stand back.”

”Eh?”

The rabbit barely managed to react as she took a step back when Davis reached out both his hands and held the vertical railings.

*Bzzzz!~*

A thunderous lightning ran across the bars and struck Davis with a resounding bang, causing his entire body to be electrified and glow like a lantern, but despite that, the veins in his arms rose and his arms swelled. He spread his arms and made the railings bend and contort as he created an opening.

As he did so, the formation overloaded and stopped working, causing the electrified barrier to stop harming Davis. Even his hair didnʼt turn into spikes, meaning the barrier nearly did nothing to him.

”Impossible… itʼs a cage that can trap even a Level One Autarch for a period of time…”

Young Master Reiwu shuddered as he gazed at Davis. This was one of the most powerful cages they possessed and was rarely used. It wasnʼt intended to harm the captive but was entirely made to keep them inside unless they were to be let out. After all, it was common that captives also tended to commit suicide. They canʼt have a precious good dying on them.

Regardless, how powerful was this Empyrean for him to be able to use his bare hands to rip the cage apart?

Davis reached out his hand, inviting the dumbfounded rabbit.

She stared at him, unable to comprehend what had just happened. If she couldʼve escaped, she wouldʼve done it long ago. However, she unwittingly took his hand, and before she knew it, she was already outside.

She was outside the cage— something she painfully understood that could only be achieved when a buyer made a winning bid on her. She imagined numerous scenarios where she would brutally rip apart the buyerʼs head and crunch their bones like she was tasting a delicacy.

However, the person she intended to search for and seek help from managed to find her and get her out.

The emotions she was feeling couldnʼt be described.

”Wait…!”

Abruptly, Young Master Reiwu shouted.

”Guards! This… call the Autarchs! Call father!”

He finally recognized something was entirely wrong. This person could be the Divine Emperor of Death. Even if not, he couldnʼt afford for the precious item to escape.

However, despite his screaming for help, no one responded.

When he turned to look back, he saw all his bodyguards and the storage keepers standing behind a woman. The storage keeper was an accountant and was even a genius in his prime. As a Level Nine Sovereign, his prowess was four levels higher. However, even he stood behind that black-robed woman, seemingly on her side as though they were spies.

”Itʼs a pity that your fate is sealed before we could become friends.”

At this moment, a palm fell on his shoulder.

It made his expression freeze, barely making him move his gaze to the person beside him.

”Iʼll be taking your rings too. I hope they have enough authority to open most of the items here.”

Davis brought Young Master Reiwuʼs hand up and flicked the rings off with a wave of his finger. He then smiled lightly. That smile- no, gaze alone sent shivers, causing Young Master Reiwu to become limp.

”Di-Divine Emperor of Death, please s-spare me…”

Young Master Reiwu practically wet his pants on the spot. It made Davis take two steps back hurriedly in disgust.
