Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3968  The Effect Of An Anarchic Title

Patriarch Clyde and Glenda Lunarisse also had their eyes wide, unable to believe they had a rat in their ranks when they were already so close. Grand Elder Quade was practically his father-in-law since Hera was his eighth wife.

But in the recent disaster that forced them into this state, he lost all his wives and many children except Hera and a few other children.

”No way… father… thatʼs not true, right?” Hera asked as her voice shuddered, her expression full of fright as she understood all too well that this was a betrayal deserving of capital punishment.

”…!” Grand Elder Quade trembled. He instantly glared at Davis, wanting to kill him in the cruelest way possible. His energy had just started circulating when suddenly it was snuffed out by a few words.

”If you attack again, donʼt expect mercy from me, the Divine Emperor of Death.”

”…”

The moment those words fell, the already visibly disturbed atmosphere became deathly silent.

Davis let his hands go and grasped his shoulders, pulling him up. The next second, he shaped his hand like a knife, the tip of his fingers coated with the sharpest chaotic blade possible, and stabbed into Grand Elder Quadeʼs chest like he was piercing tofu, causing the other partyʼs eyes to go wide in horror.

”Donʼt move. Donʼt say anything. Let your powers fade as you become a cripple. My incision is clean and painless. This may save your life from instant death, and you may have a chance to restore your cultivation in the future. Choose wisely.”

”No…”

Grand Elder Quade squeezed out a word as his lips quivered. He could sense his dantian rupture and his Divine Wheel crumble as the huge amount of transcendent energies stored within him began to discharge. His gaze was full of fright rather than any hatred. He looked pleadingly at Davis, begging the other party to let him go.

However, Davisʼs finger was still plunged within.

He didnʼt allow Grand Elder Quade to make a single move under the threat of erasure as his death energy overwhelmed the other personʼs senses with fear.

No one moved.

They were completely horrified as they had also heard the news of the Divine Emperor of Death killing over forty Empyreans and Autarchs.

Mingzhiʼs eyes couldnʼt help but glaze with pride.

The Ravendel Family dared not try anything like saving their Grand Elder and making the situation more apparent before they announced a suitable punishment. They could only watch, unable to stop anything.

No one— absolutely no one dared to retaliate. Such was the effect of the anarchic title of Divine Emperor of Death.

ʼPeople will retaliate when they know theyʼre dealing with the righteous and evil but wouldnʼt dare retaliate when theyʼre dealing with complete evil… They will shamelessly bow their heads and let the true evil trample on their dignity to save themselves because they know theyʼre dead if they canʼt kill the true evil in one move….ʼ

Mingzhi shook her head.

She observed when the Level Three Autarch heard that a mere Level Three Immortal Emperor was the Divine Emperor of Death, his demeanor completely changed, going from livid fury to despair, and he dared not retaliate even while his cultivation kept decreasing level after level.

He couldnʼt even talk and only pleaded with his eyes to ask for mercy.

Davis wasnʼt moved. He kept Grand Elder Quade suppressed until his cultivation fell until the Level One Transcendent Stage. Any more loss, the other party might die from the lack of blood essence as he now looked a lot aged from a young man to a man in his fifties in mortal terms.

The change was fast.

Davis wiped the blood on Grand Elder Quadeʼs robe and turned around to look at Glenda, cupping his hands.

”We thank you for the hospitality shown, but it is no longer needed as we are leaving. You can inform the world of our appearance, but they would probably eliminate you all, too, without me needing to take action. Therefore, donʼt worry, I wonʼt do anything as long as my rabbitʼs former master is alive and well.”

Davis removed his mask and spoke with a clear smile.

”…”

Patriarch Clyde shuddered as he stood in front of Glenda and held her hand as though he was protecting her, fearing that she would be taken. However, he blinked after hearing the Divine Emperor of Deathʼs words, unable to comprehend why a true evil would help.

Glenda sidestepped and strode forward with an unsure look. She cupped her hands regardless.

”Many thanks for saving my family again. With this matter, there should be no more traitors. As for my former empireʼs treasury, it is all yours as agreed upon. I want no part of it.”

”Are you sure?” Davis raised his brows. He did intend to give about ten percent back if he got it since he wanted to pay it as compensation for taking away Illumina Lunarisse.

”The Treasury isnʼt easy to obtain. There are a lot of Vacuous Beasts that had gotten into it when it was open before being closed. Although I donʼt know the current situation, it shouldnʼt be easy to get. I wish Illumina and you would obtain it more than any other power. Perhaps you could adorn a few treasures that are like adornments and make her more beautiful than menacing…” She laughed dryly.

”…” Illumina Lunarisse blinked.

”Will do.”

Davis nodded before he reached toward Illumina Lunarisse with his hand.

”Letʼs go.”

Illumina Lunarisseʼs heart skipped a beat.

She turned to look at her former master, knowing this would probably be the last time she would see her if she died sometime later in the future. She heaved a sigh and moved her lips.

”Take care, Glenda. If anything happens to you, I will make sure the Ravendel Family is buried along with you in this soil. As for you, I may not have acknowledged you, but you have proven yourself capable today by standing in front of the Divine Emperor of Death despite all the apprehension. You better protect her until you lose your life.”

Illumina Lunarisse glared at Patriarch Clyde with killing intent. The way she saw it- this man didnʼt deserve a fairy like her Empress. They would be worlds apart if the Lunarisse Empire was still present.

After all one was a Low-Level Autarch Grade Power and the other was a Mid-Level Autarch Grade Power. They couldnʼt be spoken in the same length.

Once she dropped those words, she offered no explanation and didnʼt wait for an answer either. She turned around, grasped Davisʼs hand, and left.

Their flying boat rose and left the region, leaving a terrified and speechless Ravendel Family who couldnʼt process that the Divine Emperor of Death had just visited them and left after taking down one of their Autarchs like he had just visited a restaurant and broke a table because it took too long for the food to arrive and left.
