Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3980  Intricacies of the Everlasting Samsara

Davis appeared on the flying boat. Before he could say anything, Mingzhi threw herself to him, tightly hugging him.

Shirley and Lea also looked at him with worried expressions, but their gaze was full of pride.

”Master!” Eldia flew back to his soul.

Davis caressed Mingzhiʼs head. He knew they mustʼve blown their tops after he disappeared from their sight. They descended to commit a massacre, after all. There was a significant chance they couldʼve been badly harmed or died.

His heart warmed as he etched their actions into his soul.

However, he was doubtful about one thing.

”Eldia, did you sense anything strange while I was gone?”

”No, why did you leave me like that, master? I also wanted to fight alongside you!”

”Eldia, Iʼm borrowing the black-white stoneʼs power to fight. If it werenʼt for that, I would die easily. I canʼt have you in my soul. Even with the treasure, I almost died since I got my soul sea almost severed in half. It wouldʼve been over for you if you were inside my soul sea.”

”…!”

Eldia gasped. She then said nothing other than make a frown. It seemed that she went too deep into thought, which she wouldnʼt usually do as she was free-spirited.

Davis had seen this expression of hers before. It was something she made when she chose to be with him. He guessed she was feeling the heat of her inability to help.

On the other hand, Davis didnʼt say the truth that he died.

In fact, he didnʼt even know if he died. He could only assume it was a temporary state of death.

One reason is that he still had his beast pacts and spirit pact. They didnʼt shatter or were harmed in the slightest whatsoever. If he died, Eldia would actually know. Even if he was in a coma, she would know. But she said nothing happened.

Secondly, his consciousness was still active. Even though he had supposedly died, he was still aware of his surroundings. He could see from within. That was why he was able to Will himself into becoming a ghostly apparition. He wasnʼt able to talk well but was able to project his aura and Will, disallowing Autarch Elluro Coldwing from taking away the black-white stone. He was even full of himself at that time, mockingly laughing at Autarch Elluro Coldwing as he realized what he was capable of.

It made him feel drunk.

Fortunately, he was able to force his Will upon the black-white stone. If it was stolen, he would be screwed and wouldʼve had to use Fallen Heaven directly instead of indirectly boosting the black-white stone. Thankfully, that didnʼt happen.

Lastly, he felt empowered rather than feeling weak. Even his cultivation base increased. He had entered the Level Four Immortal Emperor Stage in both body and soul. The resurrection he went through even improved his body and essence, something he didnʼt expect.

Was it because his entire body was cleaved apart and made anew? Could he spam this and improve his cultivation to Level Nine Immortal Emperor Stage quickly?

Davis couldnʼt tell.

It was such a strange feeling, almost as though going through death was what his physique craved. His soul was rejoicing right now. However, he didnʼt know its side effects. He could only wait and see.

”Why did you not kill them all?”

Mingzhi raised her head and squinted her brows, ”They do not deserve to live.”

”Indeed, they do deserve to live. They went as far as to target our entire family, including children. This karmic attack formation core is real.”

Davis took out the core he stole from Autarch Helmiʼs hand before he gave it to Mingzhi. She grabbed it and took a look at it, not understanding a single thing of its intricacies.

She imagined she must give it to Tia in order to decipher it.

”Trust me,” Davis continued, ”I want to massacre them and show the world what happens to them when they mess with us, but weʼre still weak. We need to be smart about our approach and should not rely on treasures. I am not this strong by myself, at least, not yet.”

Davis knew his weakness far more than anyone.

If some random cultivator decided to undergo his tribulation, Fallen Heaven would hide, and he wouldnʼt be able to use it. That was one such scenario where he would be screwed beyond compare. Thatʼs why he didnʼt want to be so arrogant as to massacre all Heavenʼs Warriors and have an even more powerful hunting party on his back.

He would get burned, not to mention the hunt would be endless.

If all the Heavenʼs Warriors in the Upper Realms or even Greater Realms decided to come down to hunt him in a relentless manner, he would sooner or later spam Fallen Heavenʼs abilities and die a miserable death in one of the ridiculous calamities it might spawn. Even if he survived, his family surely had little chance of survival. Even now, he still remembered what his other fates were like.

They were not something he even wanted to think about. He didnʼt want to take chances needlessly.

ʼDo not be blinded by wrath. You are still weak.ʼ Davis reminded himself for the third time today.

If he needed to survive, he was well aware he needed to use his wits rather than brute strength.

Mingzhi stared at the formation core before returning her gaze, ”You wanted to avoid a seven-star wanted level?”

”Yeah.” Davis let out a light chuckle. If Mingzhi could quote a game, he guessed she was still sane.

”If Iʼm right, Iʼm considered a Realm Calamity, and so are the other Anarchic Divergents, but for myself, you could say that Iʼm at the six-star level, the max for an Anarchic Divergent. I donʼt want to give meaning a new star level, you know.”

Mingzhi lowered her head. She took a deep breath before she slapped her cheeks, heaving a refreshing sigh.

”Alright, what should we do now?”

Davisʼs expression turned solemn, ”Weʼre abandoning the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm. We might abandon the two organizations we have established here. Sorry, Mingzhi.”

”Thatʼs fine. I was aware they were disposable anyway. Fortunately, I didnʼt leave any traces of us. Even if I missed something, it would be nothing more than circumstantial evidence. Those slaves also wouldnʼt say anything. Theyʼre tight-lipped, and if they did say anything, they know theyʼre dead meat.”

Mingzhiʼs lips curled into an evil grin. She didnʼt look one bit apologetic.

She turned around and started informing the others.

Davis stepped out of the flying ship and cast a look down at the kneeling Heavenʼs Warriors still struggling to stand up. Theyʼre only making it worse for themselves, wasting their stamina. Some bones seemed to have already popped and cracked, causing them to be stuck on the sandy surface.

His gaze flashed with rancor, killing intent oozing out.

Even now, he was barely holding himself back from killing them in one move.

*Whoosh!~*

At this moment, Stella appeared.

She looked around before gazing at him, ”Big brother, I… I wasnʼt able to protect the realm all by myself…”

”Itʼs not your fault, Stella. Once you saw their force, you made a good decision to seal the mini realm and conceal it to the best of your ability. It forced Autarch Elluro Coldwing not to alarm me and wait until I walked into their trap. They probably recognized that the entrance to the mini-realm belonged to a Void Dust Tree because of how knowledgeable they were, and they chose to attack from the outside instead of walking into our mini-realm and cornering themselves.”

Davis grasped Stellaʼs hands and patted, firmly holding her. Stella bit her lips, but she nodded.

Her heart raced with trepidation when she sensed Autarch Elluro Coldwing appear from nowhere. She felt extremely guilty that she provided incorrect information to Davis. She shouldʼve just kept her mouth shut instead of telling the level of Empyreans and Autarchs who were present. After all, she felt Davis wouldnʼt have been ambushed if it werenʼt for that.
