Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3967  Discord Within The Ravendel Family?

Hearing that woman complain and cast an obnoxious gaze at Glenda Lunarisse, a man abruptly spoke.

”Hera, will you not make trouble on this joyous occasion?”

A wave of silver hair flowed down his head. The beautiful strands were tied back in a ponytail, and combined with his bearings and handsome look with a chiseled face, it made him appear similar to a refined scholar. He turned his head and stared at the woman called Hera, indicating that she should stay quiet before the guests.

”No, I will!”

Hera Ravendel strode forward in the air, her Level Nine Sovereign undulations flaring like her anger.

”This wen-woman not only seduced you back then but also lied about her past fifteen thousand years ago. Who knows what she did to survive and escape all the way to this realm? She is bringing a disaster to our family. And her imperial guard or magical beast mount, whatever- she was saved by that calamity. Then, she was caught by the Opulent Shell Company. What good luck? The amount of bad luck she carries with her would seal the fate of our family!”

She pointed at Illumina Lunarisse and waved her hand, appearing to want to exile her.

Illumina Lunarisse narrowed her brows, but Glenda Lunarisse turned back and faced Hera Ravendel.

”Hera, Iʼm aware that you do not like me and want to be husbandʼs first wife. I didnʼt say anything all this time because you were only taking it out on me, but if you want to harm Illumina, then I will no longer sit back and watch.”

”Ridiculous~” Hera Ravendel harrumphed as she looked away with a scoff.

At this moment, one of the three remaining Level Three Autarchs stepped forward.

It was a man. He appeared quite young for his position. He also had long, flowing silver hair and looked dashing with his sword-like brows.

”My daughter Hera is right. Patriarch Clyde, do you see how your first wife, Glenda, brought danger upon us by having this magical beast recover little Illumina when we already planned to save her by buying her back without making much trouble? Now, thereʼs a possibility that many know our hidden residence and come to hunt us down. At that time, we wouldnʼt even be able to punish her.”

”…”

Patriarch Clyde Ravendel frowned.

He was aware that he had to make tough decisions. His decision saved his family when they were besieged, even though he lost a lot.

”Enough. This matter will be heard later after the banquet so that my granddaughter Illumina can be received back with fanfare. I will entertain no retorts.”

He flared his Level Three Autarch undulations, practically making everyone around him lose their breath. It seemed that his prowess was also great.

With the crowd having gone silent, Clyde Ravendel looked towards Davis.

”Benefactor, we thank you for saving my granddaughter and even saving my first wife, Glendaʼs loyal imperial guard. However, I am ashamed to say that we do not have much to offer as we are already in dire straits. If it isnʼt to your liking, please donʼt be offended.”

Clyde Ravendel presented Davis with a jade container and sent it to him with a push of his hand. His mannerisms and conduct were also great and apt for a Patriarch.

However, Davis pushed it back.

”No need. I have gained Illuminaʼs loyalty in return. I trust that she will accompany me, but even if not, I wonʼt hold it against her as everyone has their life to live and choices to make.”

Davis turned to look at Illumina Lunarisse, ”This is where our worlds would divide, Illumina. You can either choose to stay with your beloved empress or come with me.”

”…!” Glenda Lunarisseʼs brows raised in shock.

The Divine Emperor of Death was inviting her beloved magical beast mount to join his cause. Instantly, she was worried, looking at Illumina Lunarisse with trepidation.

However, Illumina Lunarisse herself seemed fairly calm, even appearing to have made her choice as her eyes didnʼt ripple.

”I will go with you as I promised, master~”

Illumina Lunarisse turned to look at Davis and knelt with her head lowered.

It shocked Glenda that she two steps back, letting out tears from her eyes as she imagined that Illumina sold her sovereignty to the Divine Emperor of Death to save little Illumina. She couldnʼt help but blame herself.

”Illumina… I… Iʼm sorry. If I knew this would happen, I wouldʼve chosen to buy back little Illumina from the Opulent Shell Company with all the wealth I own, even if it made me destitute…”

”…” Illumina Lunarisse shook when she heard that.

She wanted to explain that it wasnʼt possible because her appearance provoked Young Master Reiwu, making him sell little Illumina sooner than expected, which meant that they would not have been able to buy her back while little Illuminaʼs fate wouldʼve become miserable.

However, she shook her head.

She rose and turned to look at Glenda Lunarisse with determination in her eyes.

”It has nothing to do with you, Glenda.”

”…!

For the first time, Glenda Lunarisse heard her magical beast call her by her name. She was astonished, but more than that, she realized that this was her own decision.

She understood the Divine Emperor of Death had saved Illumina Lunarisse twice or more. That wasnʼt something that was repayable in a day or two. Even as Illumina Lunarisse was going to be executed, she was helpless. She knew that she was not worthy of calling herself Illuminaʼs best friend anymore, much less master. She couldnʼt hope to stop her in the name of their relationship, causing her to lower her head.

”I will always love you, adore you.”

But at this moment, Illumina Lunarisse opened her mouth, placing her hand over her bosoms, ”We grew together. You were my best friend and also my master, Glenda. Now that I see you are safe and sound- and loved, I will forever be satisfied. I will never forget you even if I become unrecognizable in the future, so take care~ ”

She cast a look at her husband before smiling at Glenda, causing the latter not to hold back her tears anymore.

”Illumina!~”

She pounced and fell into the rabbit womanʼs embrace, crying her heart out loud.

Both Davis and Patriarch Clyde smiled lightly. Mingzhi and the others were also moved by their friendship, which was not present in most relationships after thousands of years. Little Illumina also cried as she saw her favorite people bond.

However, there were a few who couldnʼt wait to scoff at this mess, making jeers as they looked at two grown women crying.

”Heh! Good riddance! We do not welcome that cursed rabbit anyway.”

”Indeed. We do not want someone messing up our already messed up situation.”

Hera Ravendel scoffed, and her father agreed.

Both Davis and Patriarch Clyde frowned. The ladies were having a good time with their separation, but their cheap mouths ruined it.

Patriarch Clyde was going to chide Hera Ravendel again, but Davis was fast.

”Who is the idiot that leaked to the world that Illumina is going to save little Illumina?”

His question was totally off the current situation, catching people off guard. Many frowned, wondering if this so-called savior was accusing them of internal discord. They didnʼt believe it, but amidst the silence, he walked towards Heraʼs father, coming to stand in front of him.

Davis glared at the silver-haired man. His arm flicked like a whip, unable to be perceived.

*Pow!~*

A resounding slap echoed across the entire area as a silhouette was sent flying into the distance. However, the silhouette was able to stop before it crashed into a mountain.

When everyone saw who it was despite knowing it in their hearts, their scalp turned numb.

”Grand Elder Quade!”

They screamed out in shock and cast a glance at Davis, unable to believe a mere Level Three Immortal Emperor slapped a Level Three Autarch and even sent him flying.

”Thatʼs your first and last warning.”

Davis raised his finger and warned Grand Elder Quade with an unamused expression.

Originally, he had just intended to take Illumina Lunarisse and leave without pursuing the suspicious matter since a family might resolve its own matters in the end. To that end, he didnʼt even ask Taiwu about it, but for Illumina Lunarisse to be continually insulted after being made to fall into a trap, he was furious.

”Letʼs go.”

He turned to look at Illumina Lunarisse and commanded her.

Illumina Lunarisse nodded and bid farewell to her former master. They hugged firmly before Illumina Lunarisse walked towards Davis, but a furious voice echoed out.

”Halt!”

Grand Elder Quade rushed towards Davis, his light energy flaring into the skies. His figure flashed before he was already in front of Davis, reaching out his hand to grab Davisʼs collar.

However, Davis also reached out his hand.

Their fingers interlinked, and chaotic energy circulated with his arm and palm, allowing his prowess to rise as much as Level Three Autarch Stage and suppress Grand Elder Quadeʼs overwhelming light energy.

Bones popped and cracked!

The latterʼs hand was crushed when Davis clenched his fist and twisted it around, pulling Grand Elder Quade closer before he kicked with his knee.

*Bang!~*

A resounding sound echoed as Davisʼs knees connected with Grand Elder Quadeʼs chin, breaking his chin bone and teeth. A mouthful of blood erupted from Grand Elder Quade even while his lips were closed, causing him to freeze as he glared at Davis from below.

For a moment, time seemed to freeze as Grand Elder Quade was unable to comprehend how he was losing to a junior an entire stage below.

Neither of them overused their energy as there were people surrounding them. If they didnʼt control their energy from going berserk or flaring with great intensity, many people would die. For the same reason, Davis didnʼt finish Grand Elder Quade, only looking down on him.

”Tell me—” Davis echoed, his voice containing a strange hypnotizing power, ”Why did you spread information that Illumina Lunarisse was going to save little Illumina and had her easily captured?”

”You-” Grand Elder Quade was furious. He was about to hurl insults when he suddenly felt forced to comply, ”I spread that information because my daughter wouldnʼt become the first wife otherwise. After all, Glenda would have no choice but to take responsibility for that rabbitʼs downfall, which would lead to our location getting found out. But more than that, I also intend to bring Glendaʼs position down to the gutters and finally convince the Patriarch to offer her to the Ivory Moon Sanctuary Lower Realmʼs ruler to get numerous benefits so that we can finally come out of this miserable situation. We might even gain asylum and have a chance to enter the Lunarisse Familyʼs Treasury…!”

Grand Elder Quade was horrified as he spoke without control, not even able to tell that this was Enigmatic Heart Intent, but in the end, he roared as though he was justified in his actions.

”…”

The people who retreated, fearing their battle might harm everyone, watched in shock as Grand Elder Quade confessed everything.

The other Grand Elder who was protecting the people had his eyes wide, unable to believe that a Grand Elder of their family was forcing an external threat to appear so that they would leave to the other realm and become dependent on the will of another ruling power.
