Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3977  Outside the Three Layers

Davis blinked, finding it unamused. He couldnʼt contact the main body, but up to the point where his leg was taken away, he was well aware of what had happened.

Originally, Davis felt like he practically had Autarch Elluro Coldwing in a checkmate from the moment he revived after dying from the ambush. After all, he could use Judgment Laws against Autarch Elluro Coldwing, making him suffer the same fate and allowing him to encounter death.

However, Autarch Elluro Coldwing turned out to be more powerful than he expected. From the start, Davis didnʼt want to underestimate the other partyʼs prowess, even if he hated him to the core for having the audacity to ambush and assassinate him with a trap. He wasnʼt full of hatred because he would also use this kind of method to vanquish his enemies— it was just he didnʼt expect this from a Heavenʼs Warriors.

Regardless, if Judgment Laws failed, Davis predicted it could be countered in the future if the latter escaped. He didnʼt want anyone devising a counter technique for his Judgment Laws. It was inevitable, but he definitely didnʼt want it to be countered this soon.

Thatʼs why he didnʼt use it until Autarch Elluro Coldwing displayed his true prowess.

Thatʼs why he first tried to weaken Autarch Elluro Coldwing, and when the latter was about to flee with all avenues exhausted, Davis thought of finally making a move with Judgment Laws, but all of it changed as he had to use it earlier to defend against Autarch Elluro Coldwingʼs Divine Technique.

After that, it had been clear even with Judgment Laws, it was practically impossible to kill Autarch Elluro Coldwing, so he instantly changed his plans and decided to scare him to death so the Void Dimension could send him to his space burial site.

Therefore, he summoned the Spear of Damnation and gave him a taste of what it would be like to never enter reincarnation. However, Davis knew it wouldnʼt be enough, and that was where the technique he learned from observing Vereinaʼs Soul Physique came in: the ability to absorb and refine soul essences for himself.

With the black-white stone and Fallen Heavenʼs death energy used in tandem, it had such a terrifying effect on souls. Even living souls were not spared from the gaze of the abyss. He practically almost yanked the soul out of Autarch Elluro Coldwing, finally giving him the taste of fear he deserved, which made Autarch Elluro Coldwing no longer hold back his prowess.

Davis planned it to happen and was overjoyed when it happened, so he instantly cut off both his legs with heavenly wind blades while being sent flying back. It was a clean, seamless cut that one couldnʼt perceive amidst all the things that were happening. He was limbless since he had also lost his arms from Autarch Elluro Coldwingʼs powerful burst of energy, but at the same time, he kept a hold of his legs with soul force, barely remaining conscious enough amidst the backlash from his soul essence extraction technique being broken.

As expected, Autarch Elluro Coldwing managed to catch his leg and the rest— Davis couldnʼt help but laugh.

”Pfft! Ahahaha! You really are a true Heavenʼs Warrior, stopping at nothing to harm me. But-”

His expression suddenly couldnʼt become solemn, ”There are other evil entities with various evil track records, but instead of chasing them, you chose to deal with me first. Why is that? Why are the likes of Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion, Vile Enchanter Kieran Hartley, Wicked Tamer Jaxon Harrow still around while I, who only want to survive peacefully getting targeted like this?”

Autarch Elluro Coldwing narrowed his eyes, ”We told you. Regardless if youʼre good or evil, youʼre a being that shouldnʼt exist in the universe. You will do more evil even if it is not your intention, so I will give my everything to end you, even at the cost of my life.”

”Figures…” Davis sighed.

He already knew the answer from the exchange he had with the Celestial Transcendent when they first met. However, he expected Autarch Elluro Coldwing to be fanatical about it, having a personal vendetta against him.

”But you are wrong.”

”Hmm?” Davis raised his brows.

”The first thing the Supreme One did when he came to the Lower Realms in order to kill that powerful Anarchic Divergent who owned the realm known as the First Haven World was chase down those three and kill their avatars. I wouldnʼt have known if I hadnʼt witnessed the Supreme One killing Accursed Warlock with my own eyes and asked who it was. That person is just that silent, unwilling to put the burden on others as vanquishes evil like it is something not even worth being mentioned.”

”…”

”Unfortunately, the Supreme One is the busiest person in the universe. The number of places he has to take care of in the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy is endless, and it is practically impossible for him to be everywhere, even with the mindboggling number of avatars he could summon.”

Autarch Elluro Coldwingʼs voice turned emotional. His expression appeared as though he practically worshiped the Celestial Transcendent.

Davis was speechless.

The avatars of the vile three, Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion, Vile Enchanter Kieran Hartley, Wicked Tamer Jaxon Harrow, were dead? No wonder he didnʼt see them from the moment he stepped foot into the true immortal world.

Unfortunately, his main body wouldnʼt get this information, living with a vague sense of unease that those three villains might show up anytime, but Davis guessed it was also good as it would keep them on their toes and allow them to remain vigilant.

Nonetheless, Davis heaved a sigh.

”Well, I hope you rot to death here since you would keep targeting me if you came back. A fair word of warning, though: if I see you again, I will be the one chasing you to death and not the other way around. See you later.”

Davis waved his hand as his body melted and faded into nothingness. All the blood was used up to summon the scab avatar.

”…”

Autarch Elluro Coldwing watched Davis disappear.

He trembled for a while but eventually managed to calm down. He looked at his energy levels, which were still significant because he didnʼt get to use much energy. Heaving a breath, his face became solemn, and his eyes glowed white-purple.

He appeared to be using the Transcendent Truth Eyes.

”Heavens, please guide me back to your wonderful embrace where the living exists.” Instead of a command, he seemed to be making a request.

His eyes glowed as he could sense something vague, making him want to head in that direction. However, his solemn countenance still didnʼt change as it was unknown how long it would take before he could return. It could be a hundred thousand years or even a billion years before he made it back.

The greater the distance he was thrown, the more time it was going to take. Regardless, he made his way forward, still not losing hope, as his Will remained terrifyingly strong.
