Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3842  A Coincidental Encounter?

After some time, Yilla opened her mouth.

”Uhmm… Mingzhi may come off as rude, but sheʼs only doing things to be of use to you, husband.”

”I know,” Davis smiled at her, ”but it is better than getting herself killed over something she doesnʼt need to bother with. Iʼm happy sheʼs using her wits to help me, but it is not needed in a case thatʼs so dangerous to deal with using our current capabilities, and I would rather she enjoy the expensive meal we bought.”

”May I ask why it is not needed? Everyone is worried for you.” Yilla probed hesitantly.

”Yilla, thereʼs no need to be so formal. Just speak as freely as Mingzhi does.”

Hearing Davisʼs words, Yilla slightly nodded and made herself comfortable.

”Have you really given up on saving those three?”

She could only imagine how offensive these words were to a powerful man and to a man who cared about his friends as though they were brothers. She did understand that they were like sworn brothers.

”…”

Davis stared at her. He sighed, thinking he had gone a bit too far with Mingzhi, but he didnʼt think he was wrong.

Nonetheless, he opened his mouth.

”I am-”

Bzz

Abruptly, his messaging talisman buzzed, causing him to quickly dash out and appear near the exit.

There, he saw Mingzhi in confrontation with a group.

Only there wasnʼt a confrontation, but an altercation with someone trying to harass a group of black-robed people, although Mingzhi was mediating while Shirley watched from the back, standing some distance away as though she had nothing to do with the situation.

ʼShit… is that…?ʼ

Davisʼs pupils dilated.

”Lady, Iʼm telling you.” A white-robed man with a punchable face smiled. He looked smug, ”These people are those damned inheritors from the Fire Phoenix Clan. Iʼm certain Iʼve seen this woman take her hood off, and her face was a splitting image of the woman known as Sierra.”

He pointed to one woman amidst the group of six and caused a clamor to erupt.

”What!?”

”Did he just say that they were those traitorous inheritors of the Fire Phoenix Clan who escaped?”

Many people stood up, some even looking down from the upper floors to see what was going on. Some people even took out the posters they collected to see if that person really was Sierra.

”How can you be so certain?” Mingzhi sounded confused, ”The Fire Phoenix Lower Realm is at least two realms away. How did they get past so many checkpoints? Besides, what are you trying to do to make trouble here? Everyone of us has a black mark and hides our identities to survive day after day. Are you trying to wreck our town, or are you trying to call the authorities here?”

”Fuck. Is he from the Earth Dragon Clan?”

”Who are you!?”

Instantly, the others roared and questioned the identity of the white-robed man with a smug expression. However, his smugness didnʼt last long, as he saw everyone gathering around him instead of the woman he pointed at.

”Wait… I swear to the hea- I mean, Iʼm sure she is Sie-”

Pow!~

Mingzhi slapped him and raised her voice, ”Brothers and sisters, this transcendent creep not only doesnʼt dare to swear to the heavens, but he also dares to jeopardize our lives. Thrash him~”

”Thrash him!”

The others followed him to where he was sent flying and began to beat him up. As he received so many kicks, the white-robed man crawled like a turtle and didnʼt retaliate in order to survive. This was a pirate town. Even if someone killed him, no one would ask a question.

He didnʼt dare retaliate because his ear was still ringing and his head was spinning.

In that moment, the black-robed individuals were gone.

So were Mingzhi and the others.

They appeared outside, gathering in an alleyway.

Shirley ran to them and held a black-robed personʼs hands.

”Sierra, I never thought I would see you again.”

”So did I, Shirley~ Iʼm so glad to see you.”

Sierra removed her hood and looked teary eyed. It felt so good to see someone who wasnʼt trying to kill her.

”So youʼre the brains of this family, the hidden night empress who oversees the intelligence network.”

A black-robed person neared Mingzhi as he removed his hood.

It was none other than Ancestor Zenflame. He had vaguely heard about her, as he thought it was strange how a Divergentʼs family could act so organized and stay ahead of most kinds of schemes. He looked so grateful as he cupped his hands.

”Iʼm no such thing…”

Mingzhi shrugged as she shot a look at Davis as though blaming him.

”Alright, alright. Iʼm sorry, my hidden night empress…”

Davis came closer and touched her cheek. He just checked to see if some people were following him. Fortunately, they were all busy beating up those who tried to ruin their businesses or lives here. They wouldnʼt be able to take their attention away since he cast Misdirection on them, allowing them to not take their gaze off the white-robed man.

”…”

Mingzhiʼs gaze flickered. She pouted.

”I do so much for you, yet you have the gall to say you will hate me?”

”I went too far. Forgive me. However, isnʼt it better that you cry instead of seeing one of us die?”

”…”

Mingzhiʼs gaze shook. She lowered her gaze and said, ”Iʼm sorry. I may be getting ahead of myself since I donʼt really know what lies ahead of our journey. Any one of my plan could lead back to us in a way we wonʼt expect. Itʼs just… I-”

”Hoho~ Did we interrupt a loverʼs quarrel?”

Another black-robed person stepped forward.

He reached out his hand to the head and removed the hood, revealing his face. He was none other than Founder Rocksunder!

At the same time, the others also revealed their faces.

Other than Sierra, Founder Zenflame, and Founder Rocksunder, there were also Hirona, Crystia, and Noctis here! In other words, all six of the inheritors from the Fire Phoenix Clan and the Earth Dragon Clan.

”…”

However, Shirley narrowed her brows.

”I sensed Zaharaʼs blood, and thatʼs why I was able to quickly recognize that it was you people and had Mingzhi diffuse the situation since my face is well known and would be spotted. Where is she?”

Founder Zenflame and the others looked at each other before they looked a bit sad.

”She-”
