Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3804  Plucking The Wicked Star

Davisʼs iridescent gaze flickered.

His reincarnation wheel had shattered, inflicting a bit of pain in his soul. After all, it was the direct manifestation of his physique. With the Unfettered Earthly Reincarnation Scripture, he managed to coat it into a powerful conjured weapon that would sieve through thousands of people and extinguish their souls in an instant.

Due to gaining physical form through a technique, it could also be used to defend.

But clearly, he shouldʼve known its prowess wasnʼt great when it came to defending against destructive energies, as it lost to Zenova Artoriaʼs firestorm energy even though he had also used his full prowess. If it was Evelynnʼs hex energy, reincarnation energy wouldʼve easily defended against it at the same level.

After all, reincarnation energy was the bane of all hexes.

Still, anyone could see that this clash ended in his defeat at a glance. His reincarnation wheel was pierced through, and he diverted the rest of his energy to defend himself against the piercing beam. The result was that he lost his right arm.

However, the battle isnʼt over yet.

Past the reincarnation wheel, he looked at Zenova Artoria in the distance, not expecting her to retaliate so quickly. He had to admit she was sharp, possessing an incredible sense of battle despite not having met this technique before.

She quickly responded and appropriately attacked with full force, even going as far as to sacrifice her blood essence. He was rather in awe.

Moreover, he saw the strange Kirin manifestation behind her didnʼt disappear. It didnʼt seem to be a part of the technique but a part of her physique since it stayed with her even after the technique ended.

It gave him insights into what she represented and why her physique would make her a Divergent, perhaps an Anarchic Divergent now. But with this last attack, he could sense her King-Tier aura bloom and disappear as though flickering out of existence.

He understood that she sacrificed the last bit of King-Tier Blood that remained in her body, yet he couldnʼt find any hint of her prowess dropping, which meant that her King-Tier Blood didnʼt give any boost after she entered the Immortal Emperor Stage in the first place.

It made sense since the blood she received from the Blazing Thunderlight Kirin Clan was little.

Nevertheless, the entire space was silent as they awaited their next move but abruptly saw Davis drop his injured hand and reach out with his other.

His cold expression abruptly changed, his lips curling into a wide grin.

”Youʼre a bad-bad woman, Zenova Artoria. You should know this isnʼt good for you, right?”

He seemed to make a plucking motion as though he was grabbing the stars, which made Zenova Artoria shudder crazily.

”What did you do!?”

She glared at him and yelled out, feeling an intense sense of danger screaming at her to dispel her cultivation restriction.

The others were confused, but as they saw some sort of wisp emerging within Davisʼs palm, its appearance black-purple like it was from the underworld as it seethed with an otherworldly chill that even they who had gotten used to death energy trembled over the incredulousness of the undulations.

”Is-is that karmic sin…?” Myriaʼs voice echoed in a low voice.

”As expected of my Myria…”

Davis smiled as though he had heard it even from a thousand kilometers away. His eyes narrowed even more, ”But not quite, as itʼs the karmic manifestation of her sin committed towards me. For example, destroying my arm led to her committing a sin against me, which means I can cast…”

”Judgment.”

His voice became pompous and arrogant, as though he was the Lord of the region, towering over them with the utmost authoritative hand he could place as he flipped his hand and smashed down the black-purple wisp.

”Zenova Artoria, you have committed a grave sin and deserve your cultivation to be sealed.”

”…”

Davisʼs hand dropped. He placed his hands back and flew towards her as though he owned the place. Within two seconds, he was in front of her, hovering over her while he looked down at her.

”Whatʼs wrong? Canʼt muster any energy?”

Zenova Artoriaʼs eyes were cold, ”What kind of Law is this?”

She found that she was unable to muster any energy at all. This would effectively mean that she had lost the battle unless she could burst out of it. She was trying— trying to gain more information.

As far as she could tell, it resembled the Three-Eyed Hex Chromatic Hex Arachnidʼs Sealing Hex, but her intuition told her this was completely different.

Otherwise, her sense of danger wouldnʼt have gone off.

”Iʼll give you five more seconds to break free. After all, Iʼm rather magnanimous.”

Davis chuckled, looking pleased with his powers that he acted like a villain.

Zenova Artoria wasnʼt amused.

She was trying to overwhelm the invisible seal placed on her cultivation, but she couldnʼt find it. In fact, it was starting to make her feel somewhat weak, although she guessed it was only an illusion because of the strangeness of the situation.

At this moment, Davis stepped closer.

”When I nicked your forehead, I also implanted a strange harmless fusion energy in your soul and would only react to your sinful actions against me or anyone else for that matter. You saw that black-purple wisp, right? Itʼs a technique I derived from the fusion of Death Laws and Karma Laws, which I would like to call Judgment Laws. The more sinful the actions against me, the more the power of the technique, so killing you wouldʼve been easy even if you were a level higher than me, but I settled on sealing you.”

”…!”

Zenova Artoriaʼs gaze shook. Wasnʼt that similar to one of the ultimate defensive techniques, a tit-for-tat to make sure one wasnʼt harmed in the first place?

Four seconds had passed, and the fifth second was going to be crossed as Davis had just finished explaining.

He raised his hand, seemingly ready to launch an attack, but it was his severed arm that glowed with a burst of white light, life energy teeming within.

Davisʼs arm regenerated anew.

The regeneration was so fast that the rolling mass of flesh extended out and turned into a bloody palm that tried to grab Zenova Artoriaʼs head.

*Booom!~*

However, Zenova Artoria no longer suppressed herself, sending Davis flying as her Immortal Emperor undulations surged with tremendous intensity. It made the entire mini-realm tremble, which made everyoneʼs gaze flicker.

*Bzzz!~*

The next moment, an overwhelming spatial force descended on Zenova Artoria, suppressing her until she landed on the void dust soil as she sank. It made her look above and see a purple-robed fairy descend.

”Youʼre not the Void Dust Empress…” She narrowed her eyes.

”You lose~”

However, Stella pointed at Zenova Artoria and declared as she giggled.

On the other hand, Zenova Artoriaʼs expression didnʼt look good.

She was beaten— beaten by someone who hadnʼt even consumed the Gilded Realm Ascendant Pill yet, and the reality of it made her eyes turn bloodshot as she had never felt so disappointed in herself.

The painful realization that there was still a wide gap for improvement on his part vexed her beyond compare.

Just how could he be so powerful enough to make her feel awe instead of envy!?
