Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3798  A Huge Debt?

Davis held Evelynn close, kissing her forehead and hugging her after the passionate kiss as a wave of relief washed over him. The joy filled his heart with overwhelming emotions, feeling immense love and bittersweet emotions of being worried about her for so long.

At least Shirley and Isabella were found one day after another, but for Evelynn, who had still been missing the third day, his scalp truly turned numb. Right now, he was just full of gratitude that she made it back.

There were no words shared.

Evelynn also simply hugged him, her arms tightly wrapped around him, and she pressed her face on his chest firmly as though never wanting to leave again.

Indeed, from the Candidacy to the present felt so long.

It may have been because she had met so many people, battled them, and learned many new things that she felt like a long time had passed; not even a month had gone by. The danger involved after being teleported here was also significant, especially when she knew the vastness of the true immortal world, which made her feel like she would never meet him even after thousands of years, even if she were to somehow survive against the odds.

Fortunately, she found him within a few days.

The happiness and security she was experiencing right now was immeasurable.

Soon, she let him go and raised her head to look at his face, wanting to kiss him again, but she remembered who she had come with and turned to look at Zenova Artoria.

”Husband, sheʼs the only reason I am here without encountering much trouble.”

”Is that so?”

Davis held Evelynnʼs hand, walking closer to Zenova Artoria as he looked at her. They stood before her, but within that timeframe, Evelynn explained everything through physical soul transmission.

”Fairy Thunderblaze or rather, Zenova Artoria. This will be the first time I am calling you by your name, and it doesnʼt sound so bad now. Iʼm not sure of your intentions but it is my duty as a loving husband to thank whoever protected my wives with significant reciprocity. I thank you for bringing Evelynn back to me. Speak, what do you want?”

He smiled brightly.

”…”

Zenova Artoria raised her brows, looking amused. Wasnʼt he afraid that she would rather ask a hefty sum if he was making her actions sound grand rather than downplaying it?

She felt he was foolish when it came to his women, causing her to giggle lightly.

”What do I want?” Her lips curled, ”Iʼm sure you already know because she wouldʼve since she wouldʼve shared with you.”

”You mean the Destruction Attribute Treasure, Cataclysmic Ruinbloom Pear?”

”Is that what it is called?” Zenova Artoriaʼs gaze flickered in interest.

Then she saw Myria appear behind him from nowhere, making her smile more as she admitted this woman was more erudite than her. She knew Myria should be the reason Davis and the others were able to identify this Law Treasure.

”Yes,” Davis nodded, ”Isabella…”

Without looking back, he reached out his hand, and Isabella stepped forward, taking out a jade container and placing it over his hand. The ingredients were already covered in the same thin layer that coated the pills, disallowing their essence to leak.

Davis opened the jade container and displayed the content to her.

It was a violet-silver pear with strange spikes, giving off a strange sense of dread to everyone who saw it.

He quickly closed the jade container and held it before her.

”Here you go.”

”…”

Zenova Artoriaʼs eyes narrowed.

She had asked Evelynn for this multiple times but had never been given or considered to be given. Even a trade wouldnʼt work. Evelynn said that it was for Davis and that she should forget about it, but the person in question himself was now handing it over to her, making her wonder if this was fake.

However, he had just displayed it, and she also recognized that it was the Destruction Law Treasure without a doubt, which caused her to be confused. Was he really handing it over to her? Was this favor really meant that much to him…?

”…”

Evelynn was shocked. She shook her head at him, indicating that he should not hand it over. She couldnʼt bear for him to lose a resource because of her.

Isabella and the others sighed.

He really valued Evelynn above almost everything. The same could be said about them, but they made it back by themselves while Evelynn came from another realm after crossing numerous hurdles where it wouldnʼt be strange if she had been exposed to any one of them.

It could be said that by saving Evelynn, Zenova Artoria also saved their family since if even one of them had been exposed, then all of them wouldʼve been eventually exposed.

”I take it that you donʼt need us to research it, then?”

Myria asked, causing Davis to look at her.

”Itʼs fine. I am aware the difficulty of the research is beyond your capabilities and dangerous, so thereʼs no need to be hung up on it.”

Davis answered with a wry smile, ”In fact, with this fruit gone, the other ingredient becomes open to more uses than just one use that we donʼt know would succeed or not.”

”…”

Myria contemplated before she nodded.

The difficulty of fusing three Supreme Law ingredients like the Yin-Yang, Chaos, and Destruction Law Treasures was beyond her ability. Fusing the latter two was simply impossible, and it became doable with the Yin-Yang Law Treasure, but even then, she wasnʼt too sure about the success rate.

Who knows how much time she needed to spend researching the right method to concoct them?

It was possible all three ingredients would go to waste since the failure rate was higher than anything she had tried her hands on.

It was, indeed, as Davis said. She also felt that the Yin-Yang Law Treasure was better used for something else.

For example, its vines could be used for dual cultivation perpetually as long as they allow the treasure to continue producing vines. It wasnʼt that hard since the Duality Harmony-Anarchy Vine, once it reaches its peak maturity, can grow in almost any environment as long as its core isnʼt damaged.

Such was its magnificence as an all-powerful catalyst and unifying ingredient.

As long as they wrapped the vines around their bodies and engaged in dual cultivation, the results would be significant. It was a dual cultivatorʼs dream treasure.

”…”

Myria blushed ever so lightly over what she considered first instead of countless other options, but her embarrassed countenance was hidden behind her veil.

However, she noticed something strange.

Despite Davis stretching out his hands and giving away the Ruinbloom Cataclysmic Pear, Zenova Artoria hadnʼt moved an inch to take it. It looked as though she was contemplating something heavily.
