Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3811  A Shattered Fantasy?

”Holy fu-”

Davis also looked at the scene in shock, not expecting to have actually pushed back Isabella by two steps when she attacked them with prowess similar to a Level One Empyrean. He imagined it happening hopefully like a little kid but did not actually expect it to happen.

His jaw dropped and didnʼt go back up.

”…”

Myria exhaled lightly, not expecting that they had become this powerful together.

She had long surpassed her peak in her previous life.

Back then, she could be considered an Empyreal Sovereign if she used todayʼs standards, being able to battle nine levels higher in the Immortal Emperor Stage, so when she entered the Immortal Emperor Stage, she had been able to battle average Level Nine Immortal Emperors.

Then in this life, she found herself being able to battle Level Nine Immortal Emperors while still being a Peak-Level Immortal King. She found this was already ridiculous, so upon taking the Gilded Realm Ascendant Pill, she found herself being able to battle existences even higher— existences at Level Nine Immortal Emperor Stage with four more levels of battle prowess.

She could only sigh at her previous self. Her horizons were broadened but even that didnʼt prepare her for the state of joining hands with Davis.

Together, they may not be able to defeat an Empyrean. They may battle against one and lose but they could survive easily against one and even assassinate as long as they target the most vulnerable moment of that Empyrean.

Myria could only think their prowess was getting ridiculous as she had never imagined this was possible in her previous life. It was possible that they may have surpassed World Masterʼs prowess when she was on the Immortal King Stage.

For a Divine Punishment Lightning to not strike them, she was already feeling grateful.

Davis finally closed his jaw and looked at the reaction of the others.

Needless to say, they were awestruck, their expressions full of disbelief and the faint hint of their horizons being shattered and remade, their world view changing.

After all, if someone said an Immortal King would be able to battle an Empyrean, they would throw themselves into the air, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. However, they had seen it.

They had seen two Immortal Kings combine their prowess to take on an Empyrean.

This wouldnʼt be possible even if thousands of Immortal Kings engaged in a battle formation, so for two Immortal Kings to reach such a level broke their common sense.

They were all silent.

Davis turned to look at Myria, eying her with the same disbelief she was eying him with.

This power felt almost taboo that they felt like it was better to keep quiet about it than reveal it to the world at this stage unless needed for no other reason than this would attract a holy crusade from all Lower Realms.

The rulers of all the realms wouldnʼt hesitate to hunt him and Myria down if they found he could surpass them all in a few years, hoping to exterminate them before they could grow. This would be the case even for a non-Divergent, so much less needed to be said about Divergents where justification wasnʼt required to kill one.

Right now, only Heavenʼs Warriors and their Mystic Diviners were desperately searching for him. On the other hand, the rulers of the realms were staying quiet, unbothered unless they actually discovered a Divergent appearing in their city or realm.

So Davis and the others needed to stay quiet about their prowess unless required.

”Alright, pretend as if you didnʼt see that in the outside world.”

Davis let go of Myria and wryly panned his gaze at Evelynn and the others before he waved his hand.

Their incredible undulations receded, causing the ladies to finally come out of their reverie.

”Holy shit!”

Mingzhi screamed at the top of her lungs, her words reverberating in everyoneʼs hearts. It was indeed holier-bullshit that they had never seen in their lives. Despite being the same team, their existence felt so unfair that it made their prideful selves reevaluate themselves again.

”Aha…”

However, they soon laughed, knowing that this prowess would be a great addition to their survival.

Wasnʼt this what they were looking for?

Ellia came closer to them.

”See?” She smiled brightly, ”You two were always meant to be from time immem-.”

”Donʼt say it.”

Davis hushed her hurriedly but it was too late.

Even Isabella who had taken their attack was looking at them like she wasnʼt amused.

The significance of this power was great for their survival. They were happy but the significance in terms of their relationship with Davis made them all feel secondary. The term ʼmeant to beʼ or ʼa match made in heavenʼ resounded in their minds and brought out all the envy in their hearts.

Even Evelynn looked to be at a loss as she remained silent.

They couldnʼt control such an emotion even if they wanted to, making them have complicated expressions.

Ellia looked taken aback.

Was she the only one who didnʼt feel a single hint of envy? She was extremely happy for Myria as she knew how she suffered in the previous life, so could relate and cheer for her with all her heart but it seems like it wasnʼt the case for others.

She understood that there could be a difference in the way he treated them. She could understand that there could be a difference in the way they treated him. All that didnʼt matter as it wasnʼt a big difference since Davis treated them mostly equally and they treated him with similar or more love and respect.

But ultimately, they had their own fantasies— the image of standing beside him first while all the fellow sisters were at their sides or behind.

There was no one who made it to that level, not even Evelynn who was slightly treated better than most because she was his first wife and their big sister.

But now, there was a woman occupying that image, standing beside Davis as she absolutely fit the role. Their tremendous increase in prowess while standing together was tangible evidence that they were a match made in heaven no matter what one says that even their own minds or hearts were unable to refute within.

It could be said that it shattered their fantasy.

”Shit…”

Davis muttered under his breath.

Why had a joyous situation turned into this spectacle?

He didnʼt like this but such was the case when conflicting emotions gather in one place.

Moreover, almost everyone was gathered here. He decided to come out with the truth as it was better than making them feel unworthy or secondary.

”Everyone, Myria and I are-”

”This is nothing more than a case of having perfectly complimenting physiques. Nothing more, nothing less. In my heart, Evelynn would always be the first wife and I would always be the eighteenth wife. I would never do something dare as take everyoneʼs place with him. In fact, our physiques also have a big drawback that might consume both of us, so this is merely a double-edged sword…”

Davis was just about to crack open the secret when Myria hurriedly said and tried to placate the others of her own volition, making Davis look at her with some surprise.

”Please donʼt hate me…”

Myria pursed her lips as her voice sounded low, saying something so shocking that it made everyoneʼs eyes turn wide.

”Oh no- we would never!”

Isabella hurriedly moved and grasped Myriaʼs hands.

”It was just— we were taken aback by how the two of you were made for each other that we were unable to contain ourselves from displaying unsightly expressions.”

”Yes, please donʼt worry.” Evelynn smiled, ”We are grateful to have you with us.”

”Indeed. It must be known that without Myria, none of us would have had the necessary knowledge to navigate the true immortal world.” Shirley expounded.

”Itʼs his fault. Weʼll hate him.”

”What did I do?”

”Ahaha!~”

Davis yelled out at Mingzhi who pointed at him, causing everyone to laugh.

However, Davis couldnʼt stop smiling.

Fortunately, Myriaʼs humbleness and willingness to share her life with them salvaged the situation. It was really unexpected that she had become tame in these years but it could also be said that was how much she wanted to be with him, making him inwardly cry rivers of joy.
