Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3782  Laying Low

It didnʼt take long for Evelynn to want to leave the Three-Headed Hydra Lower Realm and enter the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm.

However, she put a hold on that thought as every realm port was highly guarded right now.

Getting past the security would be very difficult.

However, she could see that some inheritors had simply escaped into space, venturing into the vast expanse of the Third Layer in order to find some celestial bodies that they could land and live on.

After all, space was devoid of heaven and earth energy. The more time one spends stranded, the more the likelihood that they are going to die from suffocation, in other words, loss of heaven and earth energy from their dantian.

But even in these celestial bodies, it would be difficult to live as heaven and earth energy were scarce. Heaven and earth energy of the universe always gather or converge towards a realm, so other celestial bodies in space really were in a state of constant energy droughts more likely than one could think of.

All things considered, Evelynn felt she should remain here until she could confirm more about the happenings in the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm. She couldnʼt get caught while traveling in space. Otherwise, she would be trapped.

Or rather…

ʼI would be forced to kill everyone in the realm-crossing ship…ʼ

Evelynn didnʼt know what to think.

If it comes down to such a stage, she was ready to dirty her hands, but her intentions shouldnʼt be to begin with a slaughter.

She couldnʼt help but explain her findings to Zenova Artoria, wanting her advice.

”Is that your worry?” Zenova Artoriaʼs brows raised.

Evelynn nodded.

”Donʼt worry.” Zenova Artoria waved her hand, ”All we need to do is establish fake identities, and we most likely wouldnʼt be checked at the realm port.”

”Easier said than done,” Evelynn responded dully.

It wasnʼt like she hadnʼt considered it, but she didnʼt even know where to begin.

”Yeah, it would take a few weeks for us to solidify fake identities, but if itʼs just crossing a realm, then we could use throwaway identities. Weʼll just kidnap some young mistresses and pose as them.”

”…”

”Would we release them later on?” Evelynnʼs voice was doubtful.

Zenova Artoriaʼs shoulders shook as though she was suppressing a peal of laughter.

”Unlikely unless you want to be caught. If you release them, people could trace their steps, and that could lead them straight to us or your family if you happen to find them in the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm.”

”…”

”If you want to wait to create fake identities, sure.”

Zenova Artoria shrugged, ”Itʼs just— I expected you to be ruthless, Hex Demoness.”

Evelynnʼs lips curled as she felt that it was funny.

Davis had married her for her kind and gentle nature.

It was her fey bloodline that made her ruthless.

Evelynn turned to look at Zenova Artoria.

”My ruthlessness doesnʼt stem from wants but needs. As long as husband and the others are safe, Iʼm fine with laying low. Besides, making trouble would basically mean having the realmʼs forces and Heavenʼs Warriors on us. In that case, I wouldʼve failed my family, putting them all in danger as Iʼm sure they would be crashing the gates of any power if I were to be caught…”

”…”

Zenova Artoriaʼs expression sank. Was this woman provoking her, telling her that she had no one to care for her?

But looking at Evelynnʼs solemn gaze, she guessed it wasnʼt the case.

”But a few weeks is still too long. I have an idea.”

Evelynn suddenly said, causing Zenova Artoriaʼs brows to rise.

”No need.” The latter shook her head.

”I guess you have arrived at an answer after listening to my idea. Yes, this is the Three-Headed Hydra Lower Realm, the most lawless realm in the Third Layer of the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy. Youʼre not completely hopeless if you could guess that there would be underground forces who smuggle all kinds of people in and out of realms.”

”…”

Evelynn glared at Zenova Artoria. If she could think of it, why didnʼt she say that at the beginning?

But her next few words made that apparent.

”However, be prepared to deal with obnoxious characters who will test the limits of your patience or even try to violate your dignity. At that time, you will most likely slaughter them and inevitably reveal your identity, bringing notoriety to us anyway.”

Zenova Artoria almost rolled her eyes.

”…” Evelynn couldnʼt retort.

No way was an easy way unless they could just teleport like the World Master was capable of.

Their conversation ended, and they stayed together in the private chamber allotted to them in the run-down palace. Only the external appearance didnʼt look good. Other than that, everything inside was more than average, with some designs even being luxurious.

They spent the next two days laying low while Zenova Artoria exited occasionally to look for smugglers.

The city finally opened for real the same morning, and the security was turning much more lax.

Evelynn once again didnʼt expect Zenova Artoria to return, but she did.

It made her really wonder just what use she was to this cunning woman, considering she was able to do everything by herself.

Was she planning on making Davis owe her again?

She could see that happening.

In these two days, many things happened.

Most of the Inheritors who could be caught were captured, or they had surrendered of their own volition. The rest had escaped, their whereabouts completely unknown. It wasnʼt surprising considering a vast part of realms were still considered dangerous or abandoned lands, so people wouldnʼt head out into those lands unless they wanted to look for treasures or live wildly.

The heaven and earth energy distribution was drastically uneven as well, unlike the First Haven World, making it difficult for people to settle down in these places unless they were left with no choice.

Nonetheless, it seemed that the Inheritors were only imprisoned at the moment, and no verdicts had been delivered to them. In fact, it seemed that the realms were pleading to the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy to forgive their mistakes and pardon their inheritors.

After all, they were all so powerful enough to stand at a level equal to Heavenly Sovereigns or even Kingly Sovereigns, meaning they were supreme geniuses who were able to cross six levels or even seven levels higher.

As for the Divergents, one of them was caught and executed swiftly.

It was the Thunder Divergent, a man who apparently used a fusion of Lightning Laws and Sound Laws to control the skies and the lands, shattering the flow of heaven and earth energy of the world, which meant he could also disable any lifeform from being able to properly use their energy as he disrupts their resonance between the heaven and earth and even their own dantian.

Such a dangerous Divergent apparently met his end at the Thunderforge Citadel Lower Realm, just one realm away from the Roaring Emberfall Lower Realm that was connected to this Three-Headed Hydra Lower Realm.

Evelynn and Zenova Artoria became solemn, knowing powerful Heavenʼs Warriors were just lurking two realms away. It was harder to predict the movements of the Heavenʼs Warriors as information about them was scarce.

Only their achievements have been recorded.

Nonetheless, they set out today, intending to travel to the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm.

Evelynnʼs determination only got stronger as she saw the information that said— [A mysterious group of assassins has emerged in a few realms, but one of their members was successfully caught in the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm and interrogated by the Heavenʼs Warrior with strange purple eyes that see through all kinds of lies.]

If it wasnʼt an indication that it was the Transcendent Truth Eyes, then she didnʼt know what it was.

However, she wondered if it was fine for Clara to be posing as a Heavenʼs Warrior, considering she shouldnʼt be able to use the power of Mandate Laws properly due to not being able to use heavenʼs might properly.

ʼOr did the workings of her physique change after entering the true immortal world…?ʼ Evelynn considered it as a real possibility as the heavens would have more jurisdiction in its universe rather than the World Masterʼs universe.

Then again, there was another answer, and that was Clara had gone rogue once again, but if it was the case, shouldnʼt the information on the Divine Emperor of Death become available?

Evelynn couldnʼt tell, so she hastened and headed to the port town with Zenova Artoria in a transport ship. It was situated at the southeast edge of the Three-Headed Hydra Lower Realm, which led to space, and a path taken from there in the space would lead to the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm.
