Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3763  Last Trial?

”This is…”

A purple-robed woman appeared in an empty space.

There was a strange resonance in the Crystal World as far as she could sense, heralding something that she figured was the start of the Third Trial. However, things didnʼt seem to be the case as this space was completely covered in white no matter where she looked.

Rather than a venue for some kind of competition, it seemed like a place to keep her trapped.

*Whoosh!~*

*Whoosh!~*

”Big sister!”

”Evelynn…”

Abruptly, a crimson-robed woman and a purple-golden-robed woman appeared, causing Evelynnʼs eyes to widen in surprise. Her expression blossomed with delight.

But after surprise and delight came suspicion.

Why were the three of them summoned here? Or were the other two even the real ones?

However, they were connected through the hex, so Evelynn most likely felt they were the real ones, which means-

”Donʼt tell me I have to fight you two now…?”

Shirley raised her hands in a defensive posture, not looking amused.

”Perhaps…”

Isabella shrugged, ”I donʼt have the confidence to win against big sister without going all out, which might end up dangerous.”

”You think you can defeat me easily?” Shirley pointed at Isabella, causing the latter to laugh.

”Aha~ I didnʼt mean it that way.”

”…”

Evelynn relaxed as she saw that they werenʼt controlled or anything. After being separated, she was worried about them, but she decided to concentrate on her cultivation. Finally, she entered the Immortal Emperor Stage.

However, for her sisters, it appeared they were in the Level Three Immortal Emperor Stage.

She was inwardly shocked as the increase was too fast. After all, she guessed two or three days had passed since she separated from them.

However, she could understand why their cultivations would increase faster because they probably began absorbing the crystal cores of the Crystal Beasts. The crystal cores didnʼt limit their absorption and were like drinking water instead of a dense liquid, quickly allowing them to digest it.

However, just because they increased their essence cultivation didnʼt mean their soul cultivation increased.

Her hex mainly dealt with the soul, so she was still confident if it came to battling them.

[To everyone who is still standing in the Candidacy, my apologies.]

Abruptly, a strange projection appeared in the white space, displaying a bunch of letters before a white-robed woman appeared on the screen. Her face was veiled, but it didnʼt matter as the entirety of the silhouette was blurred.

Still, Evelyn, Shirley, and Isabella instantly knew who it was as they recognized the voice and couldnʼt help but straighten their backs.

[My apologies should extend to the ones who died as well, but I assume the treasures you have obtained so far are enough to compensate you for the risks you have taken or perhaps not. Regardless, Iʼm genuinely apologetic because the Candidacy will no longer continue.]

”WHAT!?”

Shirley yelled out in shock, while Isabella and Evelynn also displayed similar reactions.

[The fact that youʼre in this space and are seeing this projection means something has happened to me. Perhaps I have fallen sick enough to enter a comatose state or have been slain. While I hope it isnʼt the latter, the Candidacy can no longer be continued without my watchful gaze, and hence, there is no legacy for you to inherit.]

”…”

Evelynn and the others watched this scene with a dumbfounded gaze.

In fact, it is the same for other Candidates who have arrived in this space. However, none of them could see each other.

Zenovaʼs eyes narrowed in shock.

Rea Tyriel kept blinking without a stop. Her lips had parted to the opposite ends already.

Dewzai looked at her palms. She still hadnʼt healed from her injuries as the Empyrean Stage remnant energy still plagued her body.

Evey inheritor was shocked, angered, and even frustrated.

They had risked so many things to come this far, even losing their teammates or someone special to them. They had left behind their families to sleep in the Heavenly Stasis Ice Valley, waking up millions of years later. While they still hadnʼt aged much from the time they went to sleep, it was unknown what happened to their families.

How long had they kept their spouses waiting? Were their family even alive?

They knew nothing, but still, suppressing their wants, they attended this Candidacy for the sake of their clans and to repay the powers behind them. However, in the end, all they got was an apology while the inheritance was no longer available?

As though waiting for them to comprehend her words, the World Master waited sometime before opening her mouth again.

[I understand your rage. I certainly didnʼt wish for this to happen either but since it happened, there is no use shouting or cursing at me. All I can do is try to compensate you, and for that, I have arranged this space, which has a temporal increase of a hundred times. One day here is a hundred days.]

”…!”

Evelynn and the others were shocked.

Hundred times temporal increase for Immortal Emperors? That was ridiculous as even achieving three times was the limit of what they could achieve.

They could only sigh in admiration, thinking as expected of the World Master.

*Calrackak~*

But at this moment, the sound of crystals falling and hitting each other could be heard as Evelynn and the others turned to look at them.

[There are also a plethora of crystal cores available, including Empyrean Stage Crystal Beast Cores for the top twenty rankers. Make use of it to increase your cultivation as much as possible before choosing to exit because what would be lying await you if I were killed would be your arrests and punishment, as the Heavenʼs Warriors in the true immortal world will not forgive you for taking part in the Candidacy.]

[If I have entered a comatose state, then you will merely return to First Haven World, but all your cultivations will be restricted to the Level Three Immortal Emperor Stage for quelling chaos as I see most of you have adopted a vile attitude when it comes to swinging your fists. As for the true immortal world, you are free to ascend.]

[I donʼt recommend staying here too long as the more time you spend here, the more the karmic burden will fall on you for accepting my help personally, not to mention living in an artificial temporal increase zone would also increase your karmic burden if it reaches a certain limit.]

The World Master sighed.

[Once again, Iʼm sincerely apologetic for not allowing a successor to emerge. I believe if such a being emerged, I would be imposing sorrow and suffering on them. After all, this cultivation method of mine is still incomplete and wouldnʼt assure an instant success as it also requires a huge amount of resources.]

[Despite that— if you still want my legacy, then my universe will open sometime even if I donʼt wake up within the appointed time. At that time, perhaps, you can reach me and plunder it from my sickbed or even deathbed. I have no qualms in surrendering my lifeʼs worth if it came to that point. Then- please do your best to survive.]

She cupped her hands and bowed as though signifying respect, causing every inheritor to tremble. At that moment, they couldnʼt hate her as they felt like even such a powerful figure wasnʼt in control of her own fate, so who were they to be getting angry?

The projection then disappeared, causing Evelynn, Shirley, and Isabella to blink.

However, they were still speechless, not knowing what to say.

Just what had happened outside? Was Davis and the others safe?

”To you three troublemakers, I had to specially make this projection.”

”…!”

Abruptly, the World Master arrived in front of them, causing them to flinch from the fright.

However, they saw it was also a projection, making them gulp.

What did the World Master have to say to them now
