Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3756  Hindered By The Nether Devourer Beast

”Alright… alright… calm down. The portal you made has dispersed, right?”

Davis held her shoulders firmly to provide Nyoran a sense of security and made her stand up.

Inwardly, he was shocked that they came across such a beast, and the name itself sounded menacing, making him feel like they had escaped death. Still, he didnʼt lose his composure and hurriedly asked Nyoran.

He couldnʼt have such a beast following them back, as he knew from the Phantom Gaze Cobraʼs account that certain beings in the Nether Dimension leave and enter the living dimension in order to mate. After all, the Phantom Gaze Cobraʼs father appeared to be a denizen from the Nether Dimension.

As for who the Phantom Gaze Cobra was, he was one of the twelve prisoners imprisoned in the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, fated to die along with the death of the realm, but using Calypsea, Davis saved all twelve prisoners and allowed them to flee after striking a deal with them although he didnʼt know what came of them.

”Yes… yes…” Nyoranʼs bosoms heaved as she tried to calm herself down, ”The portal I made through my species technique closed upon my exit. I apologize for spacing out back there. A lot of information flooded my mind from my inherited memories, just like Myria said…”

”I know. No need to apologize for that. Your reaction was quick enough…”

Davis consoled Nyoran.

If Nyoran hadnʼt indicated for him to keep his mouth shut, he wouldnʼt have known what wouldʼve happened.

A Mid Stage Empyrean resting near their spawning point? That was bad news.

Davisʼs expression churned with difficulty, wondering if the plan to escape to the Nether Dimension was a bust.

”Tell me what you know about that Nether Devourer Beast. Any weaknesses we can use to our advantage-oh… rest a bit first.”

Davis saw that Nyoran was incredibly weak, guessing she used up a lot of energy to summon the portal to the Nether Dimension. With such a ridiculous species technique, he knew there should be a lot of restrictions.

Therefore, he put her arm around his neck, walked her to the stone bed, and made her sit on it, letting her regain her breath and composure. It seems she was still processing the memories from entering the Nether Dimension and emotions from encountering such danger.

He waited for her, and she opened her mouth in ten seconds.

”I do know a bit about the Nether Devourer Beast from my inherited memories. They are actually peaceful beasts feeding on the flora there. However, they adopt an aggressive attitude toward outsiders. There are many of them spread throughout the Nether Dimension, and theyʼre like its guardians, getting rid of any creature that enters but doesnʼt belong in the Nether Dimension.”

”…”

Davis blinked. There were many of them? They were all spread throughout the Nether Dimension?

Then wouldnʼt he be toast even if he escaped from one? What was the use of bringing his family there?

However, he didnʼt lose hope.

”So… you are safe there?”

”Yes,” Nyoran nodded, her cheeks blushing as she didnʼt think it would turn out to be like this. What use was her ability now? It made her feel ashamed.

”The Nether Devourer Beast didnʼt awaken because it likely recognized my power as one belonging to the Nether Dimension. It didnʼt treat me as an anomaly. However, if you had stepped out of the range of my technique or made a sound, it wouldʼve likely noticed and gone insane enough to open its mouth and devour everything in its sight in one fell swoop.”

”…” Davis and Yotan looked at each other.

”Will cloaking ourselves in your nether-darkness energy work?” Yotan asked.

”I donʼt know… Iʼm deeply sorry…”

”Donʼt be…”

Seeing Nyoran apologize with her head lowered, Davis smiled lightly. However, his smile was one of nearly giving up.

However, Nyoran suddenly raised her head, ”However, I know my species technique doesnʼt create a portal to only one point. In fact, it is randomized until I set a point to appear in, which I didnʼt do because the Nether Devourer Beast would most likely sleep there for a long time.”

”Oh…” Davisʼs brows raised, ”So you can make a portal to another area in the Nether Dimension?”

”Yes! I can definitely do that… but it doesnʼt mean we wouldnʼt necessarily appear near a Nether Devourer Beast…”

Nyoran was excited, but realizing that she could connect to a place where that ridiculous beast existed, she lowered her head in shame.

”How many times can you use this species technique?”

Davis wanted to know the most important aspect of her technique… its cooldown.

”This… I can only use this species technique one time per day, but it also severely drains all three of my energies, leaving me with thirty percent of my energy.”

Nyoran softly said. Right now, she felt utterly tired that she wanted to hit the bed.

On the other side, Davis and Yotanʼs brows raised in shock.

Seventy percent of energy lost in one fell swoop? That could lead to shock and coma. Even Divine Techniques only took around a maximum of forty percent of energy as far as they knew.

However, Nyoran seemed fine, only appearing to be exhausted instead of descending into a state of shock or coma. Was this due to the Nether Dimensionʼs portal eradicating her backlash?

Davis and Yotan didnʼt know. Nonetheless, one time per day was good. No, it was extremely good, allowing them to use it to their advantage.

”What about the time limit? Does the portal only close once you exit?”

”No, the portal stays open for about ninety minutes, which is one and half hours, until I exit or make it disperse.”

”How many can enter and leave…?”

”This… Iʼm not sure, as this technique is only meant to allow me to enter the dimension, but you and Yotan also managed to enter and exit with me, so I guess it would be open for about three people at the very least…?”

Nyoran inclined her head, returning his question with her own question, almost causing Davis to burst out laughing as he saw her bird-like movements.

He nodded his head, ”Four at the moment with Nadia together with us, then… As for how many more it can accommodate, weʼll test it out soon.”

At the same time, Davisʼs voice echoed in his soul sea.

”Nadia, can you create doppelgangers without endangering your pregnancy?”

”I have already passed the initial period of pregnancy, Master. If itʼs only one doppelganger… I think I can make it without a problem…”

”Alright, send your doppelganger with Nyoran tomorrow. Since you have a bit of nether-death energy, you should be able to circumvent the Nether Devourer Beastʼs aggression.”

”Understood~”

Nadia nodded before she looked at her stomach and fondly caressed them. It was bigger than expected.

”Nyoran, you will take Nadiaʼs doppelganger with you tomorrow and try to find a safe spot for us to escape when itʼs time. Once you have done that, you will venture to the surroundings and see if itʼs clear of Nether Devourer Beasts and other entities that might harm us.”

”Alright.”

Nyoran solemnly nodded.

It seemed she was determined to make herself useful even at the risk of venturing into unknown land, causing Davis to look at her once again.

”Youʼre becoming more and more dependable, Nyoran. After all, you always keep your word.”

”Of course~”

Nyoran stood up and proudly lifted her head as she placed her hands on her waist. However, her expression changed, and she sat down again, shuddering ever so lightly as though she was experiencing cramps throughout her body.

Seeing this scene, Davis knew he had to give her a full dayʼs rest. Otherwise, she might not be up to the task of using her species technique again tomorrow.

He turned to look at the other woman, who maintained a clear head even after entering a dangerous place like the Nether Dimension.

”Yotan, is everything fine?”
