Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3758  A Hard Decision To Make

”…”

Once Davis kissed Yotan, he let her go and gained some distance as though looking into the horizon again, leaving her standing all confused and fluffy inside.

Truthfully, he felt like he had messed up since he wanted to confess and accept her acceptance grandly with his wives around so Yotan could also see she had their approval.

However, Yotan had been acting strange, so when he learned what was troubling her, he chose to reveal his love for her.

He wouldnʼt have even chosen to break it open now if it werenʼt for the fact he knew Yotan would sacrifice herself if any danger befell them. After all, Evelynn and the others were still missing.

Not even his karmic powers through Fallen Heaven determine their direction as they enter the void. Naturally, he didnʼt give up after his soul sense failed, but he barely used Fallen Heaven for two seconds before he stopped using it, afraid that it might bring some trouble as he didnʼt know what the rules and leeways were like in a universe ruled by the heavens.

He felt like he could use it a few more times since nothing happened like in the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm when he used karmic threads, but definitely couldnʼt afford to endanger his family without knowing he could determine their location for sure.

Still, thatʼs why he guessed Evelynn and the others were still in the Candidacy or a long distance away where his karmic powers couldnʼt extend. Therefore, he had to confirm with his own eyes that they were not here in this realm.

”Alright, letʼs go back.”

”Yes… Legion Master…”

Yotan mildly replied, not knowing what was going on as she still couldnʼt wrap her head around the fact that her object of worship confessed, much less got kissed. To her, it was nothing but a dream that she didnʼt dare bring outside.

In fact, she didnʼt even listen to the words he said about continuing to be in the Reaper Soul Legion, although she vaguely felt him say something along the lines that it would turn into a scandal.

Davis pursed his lips.

He thought for a moment, feeling like he had explained himself enough, before he turned to look at her.

”Yotan, as I said before, you may return to the Reaper Soul Legion and continue to do your duties but with less responsibility and more care towards yourself, as I donʼt want to lose you. As for wishing to reveal our relationship, go ahead. However, I would be glad if you could wait before we regroup with Evelynn and the others.”

”…!” Yotan instantly understood, ”Please donʼt mind me, Legion Master. I am willing to wait until I hear your command. But… are we truly…?”

”Yes,”

Looking at Yotanʼs expectant eyes, Davis smiled, ”You are my twenty-seventh wife, even before Aila or Stella. Besides, Iʼve been wanting to make you my woman for some time but never had the chance. That empty chair in the Harem Council was actually for you, but you never sat on it. What? You couldnʼt tell?”

”No!”

Yotan trembled.

How was she supposed to know that!? Although she now remembered Bylai making some strange signals for her to sit there, making her blush till her ears again.

”…”

Meanwhile, Davis was floored by how dense Yotan could be.

However, he knew that she had bound a curse on herself to fulfill her duties as the Legion Commander. Thatʼs why he said it was his fault for giving her that position. She couldnʼt be blamed.

ʼOn the other hand, Threelotus relies on Yotan for management and is taking it easy, enjoying her life, especially with her easygoing attitude…ʼ

Davis felt like he must discipline Threelotus more as she ended up relying on Yotan too much, which burdened Yotan more than it needed to.

However, little did he know that Threelotus would love to be punished by him, in another way, of course.

Nonetheless, he gestured to them, and they began to return to their temporary shelter.

Yotan and Nyoran followed him. However, Nyoran began to lose altitude as she appeared to be still weak, causing Yotan to come out of her reverie and notice. Yotan instantly caught Nyoran and made her rely on her as she threw Nyoranʼs arm back over her neck.

”Thanks~”

Nyoran smiled as her lips went wide.

She saw Yotan still couldnʼt control her smile behind her semi-transparent white veil.

Davis turned to glance back and saw that everything was fine, causing him to continue ahead.

Fortunately, no Nether Devourer Beast abruptly stepped out of the void. After all, he couldnʼt say if Nyoranʼs portals could leave some remnant nether energy that could act as coordinates. Leaving the Nether Devourer Beast, what if some big shot from the Nether Dimension spotted them and was hostile?

There were so many things to worry about, but Davis couldnʼt afford to take a step back because he absolutely needed the escape route. Otherwise, with such a big family, they would all get surrounded and massacred, even if he could survive.

Even if he could survive, it would make him go crazy and end it all.

ʼSorry… Nyoran… I may really have to find an escape route even at the cost of your life…ʼ

Davis hardened his heart, never feeling so disgusted by himself.

He didnʼt think he deserved her loyalty if he was willing to use her like that. After all, he didnʼt know what lay await in the Nether Dimension.

Even the Phantom Gaze Cobraʼs fatherʼs clan, the Nether Orb Cobra Clan, apparently had many Empyreans, even if their numbers were minor. He couldnʼt tell how many more like their clans were lurking there, making it so that he was sending Nyoran to her death, even if it wasnʼt his intention.

If she really died, it would undoubtedly be on him, yet Davis was willing to take that step, making him hate himself.

Eventually, he got back to the outpost and informed Myria of his findings.

For Myria, who had immense experience escaping from being chased around, he wanted to rely on her wisdom.

”I see.” Myriaʼs eyes widened, but she smiled. ”Nyoranʼs species technique will truly be useful. The problem is we donʼt know the number of people we could transport at a time. However, if you carry everyone using the Nine Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace and enter, it shouldnʼt be a problem even if the portal collapses after we enter.”

”True…”

Davis nodded, ”Nyoran is truly important. If we can successfully escape, donʼt forget to remind me to shower her with treasures.”

”No problem. After we gain enough cultivation and knowledge, weʼll have her mutate further into a Nether-Winged Abyss Raven, as I presume thatʼs what her variance is leading her to. Weʼll also help her retain her Emperor-Tier bloodline purity since that would help her overcome many of her limitations in using that species technique of hers.”

”Wonderful.”

Davis smirked.

He was willing to repay Nyoran tenfold or more if all went well. This time, he was going to research on his own instead of using Everlight, as she already sacrificed three of her tails. They couldnʼt afford for her to lose more.

Besides, helping a Divergent like Nyoran would only increase the karmic burden that plagues Everlight. She was already burdened a lot, so he wouldnʼt allow her to take chances anymore, not until she became a Late Stage Immortal Emperor Beast because magical beasts undergo tribulation at every minor stage of a cultivation realm.

In fact, he wanted Everlight to become Empyrean first before she does anything dangerous like this or updating his ridiculous soul, not that he needed her to, as he assumed he was capable of self-revival after amalgamating with Myriaʼs Eternal Life Soul.

At this moment, he was one of the nine people who had their souls eradicated from Everlightʼs three azure tails.

During dual cultivation and soul healing session, he convinced Everlight to get him out so she doesnʼt receive a lot of karmic burden, uttering numerous bullshit as though he could never die because he and Myria were one and the same, possessing vast self-revival capabilities, which turned out to be true later on to his dismay and later acceptance.

Nonetheless, he continued planning the next course of action with Myria, all the while waiting for the task force made up of avatars sent to the east to contact him.
