Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2135: Retaining

Slightly before dawn, Davis, Fiora, and Mingzhi finished their nightly activities and slept for a few hours while cuddling together before waking up in the morning. They washed and wore their attires, walking out hand in hand while being stuck together with him, still unable to forget the pleasure they were imbued with in these few days.

”Thereʼs no one here...”

”Excellent…”

Fiora and Mingzhi exchanged glances as their blush left their cheeks.

Fortunately, there was no one outside to ambush and tease the living soul out of them, so the two of them left to practice after giving Davis a shy kiss on his cheeks while giggling.

Davis rubbed his cheeks with fondness as he recalled being sandwiched by them all day before he left the palace, choosing to deal with the others later. But at the exit, he saw a familiar silhouette of a woman he hadnʼt seen for a while.

He went ahead and hugged her intimately, giving her lots of kisses on her cheeks while she licked Davis on the face before passionately kissing as they intertwined their tongues. Half a minute later, the pale face of the woman was full of crimson hue, seemingly looking at him with an adorable expression of a puppy, possessing fond eyes.

”Nadia, I missed you.”

”Me too, master.”

Nadia uttered in a soft voice while hugging him, her voice overflowing with happiness that Davis couldnʼt help but raise his hand and pat her head, running his fingers through her silky black hair.

”I see youʼve been waiting for me like a good girl. Yet, you also managed to enter the Peak-Level Emperor Beast Stage. Excellent!”

”Mhm~”

He praised Nadia, causing her to smile satisfactorily. On the other hand, Davisʼs smiling expression faded, replaced with a bit of awkwardness.

”Nadia, what do you think about marrying in the Magical Beast Sanctuary City? Are you still interested?”

Nadia blinked, nodding ever so lightly.

ʼHaha… as expected...ʼ Her reaction caused Davis to dryly smile.

”However… can we marry in the immortal world…?”

”Hhm?”

Davisʼs brows narrowed as he saw Nadia utter with some trepidation in her heart before lowering her head and continuing to speak.

”I think… no, I feel that I can become an immortal beast as soon as I reach the peak of this level but also retain my King-Tier Bloodline after becoming immortalized, so I donʼt want to lose my primal yin essence yet...”

”Oh?”

Davis became flabbergasted.

Retain her King-Tier Bloodline even after becoming an immortal beast? If he recalled correctly, the breakthrough of a stage resulted in bloodline degradation in most cases. However, it seemed like Nadia was able to retain her uniqueness, but she was afraid that if she lost her primal yin essence, it would result in her being unable to retain her King-Tier Bloodline.

”Did you realize this after hitting the Peak-Level Emperor Beast Stage…?”

”Mhm… it just became relevant to me then, my instincts warning me to not mate during this time.”

Nadia hurriedly nodded. However, she looked as though she suddenly realized something and cried out, ”H-However, if master likes to marry and mate with me now, then I would unhesitatingly agree!”

Davis couldnʼt help but smile at her panicked expression.

”Nadia, how could I harm your advancement? But this is also good. Iʼve been lacking time nowadays and only have time to deal with a few matters that couldnʼt be postponed. Youʼre certainly alright with postponing our union, so weʼll delay it to the time when we get to the immortal world. What do you say?”

Nadia gasped, her face blossoming into a wide smile.

”I agree!”

”Good girl!”

Davis caught her neck and once again smeared a hot kiss on her lips. This kind of tryst near the entrance had them both passionately exchanging their love for each other. A minute later, Nadia seemed like she wanted to rest and returned to her favorite home in his soul sea. However, she narrowed her brows, looking at an arc of black-silver lightning flashing past her shelter from the metaphorical windows.

She couldnʼt help but feel a bit of pressure as that black-silver ray rushed past her freely.

”Master… has Eldia become stronger than me?”

”She did, but donʼt worry, Nadia. Iʼll look for a way to boost your bloodline to Emperor-Tier. You have my word.”

Davis told her while leaving the palace. Nadia didnʼt say anything else, causing Davis to inwardly sigh at the difference in powers. Once, Nadia was the strongest of them all, and now, even with her King-Tier Bloodline, she wasnʼt as strong as them. Evelynn, Eldia, Natalya, and Shirley have all surpassed her in prowess, and even Lea was going to catch up soon as Shirley has shared the remaining drops of Fire Phoenix Blood Essences with her.

Therefore, he could understand Nadiaʼs feelings about this matter. No one liked to be weak, especially after they had touched the peak once. However, what could he do at the moment? He had already looked into her matter, investigating the entire bestiary of the Fifty-Two Territories but could not find a single mention of Nadiaʼs species, causing him to come to the conclusion that she was the very first of her species.

ʼThe only person left to consult is Myria, I guess...ʼ

Davis looked down on himself, finding himself highly shameless to be relying on her vast knowledge when he hit a dead end. He was afraid that it was becoming a habit already.

However, that was not the problem.

After all, the more he owed Myria, the more the karmic binding on him to her would increase, causing the promissory note she possessed of him to be capable of doing untold things to him. Perhaps, once it reached a certain level, she could even wrest away Fallen Heaven from him. However, that probably required an extreme amount of debt from him, so he wasnʼt worried, but she could very well do other things, make things entirely difficult for him, causing him to be pushed into dire straits and forced to make decisions that invite tragedy into his life.

However, that was how much her vast knowledge held value to him.

Without risking it, he could gain nothing. Without her knowledge, he wouldnʼt have smoothly arrived at this level of prowess either, so when he thought about it, it was exactly as: nothing ventured, nothing gained.

ʼStill, I should be careful of accumulating more debt to her...ʼ

Davis thought, not willing to waste a few chances to understand. As for asking Fallen Heaven, he could forget about it. Its knowledge in identifying species was nearly not even as good as a three-year-old with basic knowledge. Back then, he could tell that it held disdain towards life, so it was only interested in gaining knowledge about cultivation.

However, he could also tell that the immortals fooled it by giving it little knowledge for a kill or so.

For example, Fallen Heavenʼs knowledge did not describe the Transitory Beast Taming Pactʼs functions at all. There wasnʼt a hint of what it entailed and its side effects, only having the method to use it. Like this, many other techniques suffered from missing details.

Perhaps, thatʼs why Fallen Heaven carried knowledge that was half complete and lacking much information, or so he concluded after Myria reminded him that Natalya was practicing a cultivation manual that she shouldnʼt have. Otherwise, even Fallen Heaven wouldʼve warned him with how it was treating him.

Similarly, he hadnʼt bothered using his chances to learn about cultivation knowledge from it. The only thing that Fallen Heaven was more knowledgeable about was the soul, but it didnʼt even know about Supreme Immortal Sigils, allowing him to perceive that its knowledge was limited or limited to the immortal level as it claimed to have dealt with immortals.

However, Fallen Heaven was intelligent in his eyes, so it mustʼve understood that it was being duped, so it was possible that the knowledge extracted from those immortals was incomplete in the first place.

Thatʼs why he hadnʼt bothered using his chances to ask Fallen Heaven anymore.

In any case, he wasnʼt willing to ask Myria about this matter and bet his chances on finding a clue in the immortal world, appearing in front of the mansion as he saw a dark-green-robed figure rising above it before they opened their mouth.

”You came here to visit me?”
