Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2117: Torrential Wave Lion

Everlightʼs voice echoed with fury, not able to believe that they were being looked down upon in their own territory.

”Weʼre no longer in a disadvantageous position, so watch your mouth. Besides, the relationship between our powers wasnʼt that of a master-subordinate, so donʼt you dare try to order us around like we have done something extremely wrong.”

”Ridiculous!”

The Torrential Wave Lion roared, his fur standing on his ends.

”Shut up and scram!”

A sixty-meter tall and eighty-meter tall horned cow roared in response and strode forwards with its four hooves, creating magnificent earthen waves beneath its foot. Its undulations surged with intensity, causing the Torrential Wave Lion to become shocked as it sensed that its prowess had reached the fifth level of the Ninth Stage.

However, the moment its figure that was bigger than its own lion body neared, its big mouth curved into a snickering smile.

*Wshhh!!~*

A torrential wave of condensed water formed as the Torrential Wave Lion opened its mouth, causing the surroundings to rumble before it unleashed its technique upon the approaching Undaunted Earthen Cow Guardian.

*Bang!~*

”Aahhh!”

Blood splattered as a two-meter wide hole formed on the Undaunted Earthen Cow Guardianʼs leg while it howled in pain. However, before it could lose its footing and rollover miserably, it jumped out of the way and crashed into the wall of the hall, exiting the palace in the process, which changed the expression of the eleven Guardians.

”Courting death!”

Everlight coldly spoke when a resplendent light flashed past her eyes, shooting towards the Torrential Wave Lion.

”Ahaha!”

However, Emperor Shakhan merely laughed and raised his giant paw that a reflective crystal gleamed, reflecting Everlightʼs light-attributed attack on another magical beast.

*Vzzz!~*

The light that got reflected from the paw became more condensed and shot towards Old Cat, the Two-Tailed Phantom Cat.

Old Catʼs blue fur turned numb from the sensation of danger before she leaped to the side, her left hind leg getting ripped in half from the ray of light shooting past her. However, it was a mere mirage, a phantom that she created while she safely arrived behind the Lustrous Gold Pincer Beetle Emperor, earning its golden protection.

The Starry-Eyed Dragonfly Guardianʼs eyes shone as its wings flapped at this moment while the other Guardians surged with their powerful undulations. Gaseous blood surged from pockets of the Blood-Jewel Eyed Toad Guardian, carnelian flames blazed from the Carnelian Flame Snail Guardian, wind blades from the Two-Winged Wind Guardian Centipede cut the space, and the Ashen Scythe Mantis Guardian raised its terrifying ashen scythes, intending to cut down Emperor Shakhan.

However, they froze when they sensed the Torrential Wave Lionʼs energy surging, reaching the sixth level of the Ninth Stage in an instant!

In Emperor Shakhanʼs paws was a lustrous ocean-blue pearl, radiating the torrential might of the vast ocean.

”The Torrential Wave Lionʼs Legacy Artifact, Deep Sea Bedevil Pearl…”

Everlight recited as she recognized this Legacy Artifact, which is said to cause its target to go berserk. Apparently, it was forged by a human, but after the treasure fell into the Torrential Wave Lion Clan, they imbued their blood essence in it generation after generation, increasingly causing it to become stronger.

Usually, the Torrential Wave Lion may look calm and composed on the surface, always looking refined, but when they get angered, they will lose almost all sense of reason. Therefore, the Deep Sea Bedevil Pearl also took on their characteristics and made its targets momentarily lose their minds, allowing the user to kill them with ease.

Within an instant, Everlight realized that there were no advantages to attacking with numbers at this point.

”Ahaha!” Looking at the solemn appearances of the Twelve Sanctuary Guardians, Emperor Shakhan couldnʼt help but laugh out loud, ”Whatʼs wrong? Take out your Legacy Artifact? Oh, Iʼm a forgetful lion, silly me. It is so wrong of me not to recall that a magical beast power with a history of only a few hundred thousand years could possess a Legacy Artifact like us True Hegemons.”

He sneered, rising above them as his ocean blue mane hovered around him, creating a noble aura.

”Iʼm not here to make things worse for you imbeciles or myself. As long as you twelve clans deliver the tribute tomorrow, weʼll stop bothering you. After all, itʼs you all who cut us off arbitrarily.”

”Donʼt be so hypocritical.” Old Catʼs voice echoed, ”We provided a reason, and that whole year, we did not receive any shelter from you, so thereʼs no need for us to pay the tribute.”

”Think what you want. In the end, itʼs your call, Beauty Everlight.”

Emperor Shakhan snickered and turned around, leaving without saying another word.

Looking at the Torrential Wave Lion Clanʼs Ruler come and go freely, Everlight clenched her teeth. However, she knew she could not make things worse as they did not possess Legacy Artifacts like the damned lion said. After all, just looking after the prosperity of the Magical Beast Sanctuary and paying tributes to the Grand Viridian Beast Mountain Range ultimately had them spent that if they started using blood essence to create Legacy Artifacts, their bloodline might just drastically decline, causing their species to go extinct.

Such a decision could not be made easily, and it isnʼt as if they didnʼt try creating a Legacy Artifact, only having incompatibility issues with treasures shattering after absorbing their blood essences. They couldnʼt even find one or have humans create one for them, so it all amounted to end up relying on the Grand Viridian Beast Mountain Range.

”Beauty Everlight, we canʼt take this humiliation and stay silent. We must rise and show the true prowess of our Magical Beast Sanctuary!”

The Ashen Scythe Mantis Guardian hissed at Everlight, causing Everlight to narrow her big yellow eyes.

”We defeat Emperor Shakhan, and what then?”

”Weʼll think about it at that time!” The Ashen Scythe Mantis Guardian clamored, ”We had enough of being suppressed again and again!”

”Thatʼs right!”

”Weʼll rise above and kill whoever stands in our path to peace!”

”You all…” Everlight clenched her wolf teeth, her fangs extending out from her mouth as she watched the others raise their voice in hotheadedness, ”The power you all have now is granted by the resources the Emperor of Death shared with us. Donʼt forget that we have to repay his gratitude, or are you all trying to destroy half the Magical Beast Sanctuary even before the Calamity Light descends!?”

The other Guardians became stunned on hearing her words, their heated thoughts becoming calmer by the millisecond. They suddenly couldnʼt help but think that what their Sanctuary Guardian was saying was right and that they were too hasty.

However, Everlightʼs yellow eyes flashed with a vindictive light.

”That said, we arenʼt going to leave this humiliation unavenged. Letʼs show what our Magical Beast Sanctuary is capable of as we strike the magical beast tide thatʼs occurring in the Vast Sky Emperor Palace Territory!”

”Yes!!!”

The hotheaded leaders couldnʼt help but clamor as they raised their voices.

This is why they all listened to Beauty Everlight because she knew how to tread on the right path, taking them to this level.

*Bzzz!~*

Abruptly, their messaging talismans started ringing in unison, causing them to suddenly become silent as they glanced at each otherʼs faces before Everlight took a messaging talisman from her spatial ring.
