Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2119: Gaining

Back then, it was only because he had Nadia did they come to him for protection. If she wasnʼt there, the connection they had now wouldnʼt even have formed as he was human while they were magical beasts without much interaction and understanding.

However, Nadia didnʼt take care of them at all. Instead, the magical beasts and he had slowly come to a consensus and acted in a beneficial way to both parties.

The magical beasts had a sharp sense of smell, so even if a few disguised people appeared in the Alstreim Family, they were able to sniff them out, especially the Razor Fang Hound Clan and similar species. They knew who were outsiders and who were denizens, making it completely easier for them to find the assassins and cultivators who wanted to cause harm.

For this reason alone, it allowed the Alstreim Family to incur extremely minimal losses during its growth, causing him to appreciate and reward them with the resources he had collected and grown. Naturally, they strengthened themselves and also allowed them to recall what would allow them to invoke their bloodline potential.

Therefore, they naturally wanted to acquire more resources, and for that, they probably thought the only way for them to acquire something like that was to swear loyalty like the Reaper Soul Legion did, straightforward yet looking towards the future because his future seemed not only promising but also smooth.

ʼProbably, they already know the type of ingredient they require for one of them to enter King-Tier...ʼ

Otherwise, Davis didnʼt think they would ask of him, although they were indirect about it. Or maybe, they really thought he was extremely knowledgeable, knowing which ingredient to give in order to make a King-Tier Magical Beast that he could only laugh about it.

However, only he and Myria knew how their path was filled with thorns that even having an apex treasure wouldnʼt make much of a difference in front of those eternal giants. Nonetheless, he could understand their emotions of wanting to have a leader since Nadia wasnʼt willing to take care of them.

He also knew that it was almost time for Nadia to exit seclusion. As for what Nadia was absorbing, they were Peak-Level Spirit Stone Vein Sources that he intended to give her. When she comes out, he knows she would possess similar prowess to Yotan. However, he also knew that with death energy and a terrifying species soul technique, she could even be dangerous to eighth-level Ninth Stage Powerhouses.

He couldnʼt wait to see her, perhaps even marry her here as he had once spoken to her before. However, he was slightly hesitant about it because he told the others to wait until they got to the immortal realm.

ʼWell, in the immortal realm, a union between a human and a magical beast would be more accepted… I guess…ʼ

Thinking like this, he was also of the idea that he could postpone it. After all, Nadia didnʼt bond with the Magical Beast Sanctuary as he initially expected her to do. This place lost meaning as a wedding venue to him. However, he was of the opinion of asking Nadia what she thought about it and then deciding what to do.

He was okay with both choices. Only he would have to console his lovers again if he married Nadia here, which he was finding difficult but not tedious.

Within two seconds of being requested, Davis opened his mouth.

”Fine with me. I havenʼt conquered the human world but bestowing the resources you require isnʼt a problem. Now then, tell me, whoʼs that lucky magical beast who tasted the fruit of potential?”

Davis cast a glance at the Guardians, causing them all to think that the Emperor of Death had seen through them. However, they didnʼt avert their glance, still looking at him, or rather, kept their gaze slightly below him.

”Uhm… itʼs me...”

Davis couldnʼt help but blink as she shot a look down.

The Undaunted Earthen Cow Guardian, who had Davis on its horn, couldnʼt help but smile with a visible blush on his big face, appearing bashful.

From what he had seen, this cow was a male. He was short-tempered yet tamable and acknowledged strength like a bull would.

Davis was pretty sure that this Undaunted Earthen Cow Guardian had already acknowledged his strength and that there were little to no bad feelings between them. With his Enigmatic Heart Intent, he could also feel that it was full of gratitude and respect for him.

ʼWell, otherwise, it wouldnʼt have allowed me to sit on its horn even if I was stronger...ʼ

He had heard that the Undaunted Earthen Cow Clan was like its name, full of valor and less susceptible to intimidation.

”Then, do you know the resourceʼs name?”

”I do. It was called the Earth Gathering Sage Grass.”

”I see.”

Davis smiled, not really surprised as it was like he expected. He could only think of two resources that were earth attribute and at the guardianʼs level that could allow it to have a feel of how it could experience an increase in bloodline potential, and it seems like one of them truly was the culprit.

”And, what do you think about your chances to become a King-Tier Magical Beast?”

”Uh…” The Undaunted Earthen Cow Guardian possessed a difficult expression on his face, seemingly having trouble calculating with its simple-minded brain.

”Hmmmm- Moooo!~

He uttered a sound of thinking before sounding like a bonafide cow as though he had arrived at the answer.

”I think itʼs around twenty to thirty percent if I have five or more grasses…!”

Davisʼs brows narrowed, ”Then what if you had fifty?”

”Fi-fifty!?”

The Undaunted Earthen Cow Guardian became shocked, its wide mouth falling down dumbfoundedly, while the other Guardians displayed similar reactions, their expressions full of shock. A few seconds later, the Undaunted Earthen Cow Guardian finally opened its mouth.

”Then… according to my vague inherited memories and experience… I could enjoy more than a seventy percent chance to become a King-Tier Magical Beast!”

With a hoarse voice, he clamored, his eyes shining with a brown glint.

The other Guardians felt their hearts skipping a beat. If the Emperor of Death truly possessed such a magnitude of Earth Gathering Sage Grass, then they might truly give birth to a King-Tier, Peak-Level Emperor Beast Stage Magical Beast!

”Very well.” Davis opened his mouth, his lips curving into a smirk, ”Consider it done.”

”…!”

The Twelve Guardiansʼ hearts practically thumped. However, it didnʼt stop because they heard his next words.

”If you all become my loyal subordinates, then you can take a look at my spiritual garden. If you find something useful to your bloodline, then feel free to request it. Perhaps, something good might come out of it...”

With a mysterious expression on his face, Davis alighted from the horn and flew towards Everlight, appearing in front of her.

”If the Grand Viridian Beast Mountain Range retaliates, then donʼt hesitate to send word to us. Yotan and Threelotus will definitely help you, and I hope you can all become stronger so that our master-subordinate relationship continues to prosper.”

Everlight stood dumbfounded before she came out of her reverie, ”Yes! We will follow your eminence until our lives run out!”

She clasped her hands and bowed her hands, seemingly in great respect from the way he gave his word to help them. Right now, she was most worried about the retaliation of beating the Torrential Wave Lion, Emperor Shakhan, into a pulp. After all, it was not the Emperor of Death who critically injured Emperor Shakhan but one of their own Guardians.

Even if they can survive, the casualties will be extreme, but with the Emperor of Deathʼs protection, they can rest at ease.

Moreover, she now knew why she knelt to Davis when she first met him. It was because a figure who could control Yotan and Threelotus who easily suppressed her could very well be a monster because from the way they spoke about him, she knew that he was extremely strong!

”Weʼll sign the Blood Soul Contract when your Undaunted Earthen Cow Guardian becomes a King-Tier Magical Beast. Now then, Iʼll take my leave.”

Davis smiled at Everlight before glancing at Bylai and Zestria.

They then left together as they came, seemingly appearing awe-inspiring before their silhouettes disappeared from the gazes of the magical beasts.

However, once they left, the magical beasts realized that they had submitted to a human, their thoughts becoming more or less complex. Everlight also held a complicated expression on her face, not knowing how her Magical Beast Sanctuary would move from now on. After all, humans were known for their deceptive traits.

From what she had seen, the Emperor of Death was not such a character, but if he was hiding his true character and playing them for a fool, then they really were doomed, but she held hope and trust in him, which made it all the more complex for her.

In the distance, three figures stuck together.

Davis blinked, not understanding why Bylai and Zestria suddenly took his arms, looking completely satisfied as they possessed broad smiles on their faces.

”Did something good happen?”

Davis had already created Solitary Soul Avatars for Bylai and Zestria, so he wondered if they had any news. However, they shook their heads, causing him to blink again, ”Then, whatʼs-”

”Davis, youʼre outstanding.”

Their melodious voice resounded in both his ears, causing him to be stunned.

”Yes, not even our Dragon Families can make those magical beasts meek as you did.”

”Indeed, my Zlatan Family thatʼs in the south could only manage to threaten them but not lower their heads. However, they were completely in awe, already acting like subordinates.”

Zestria and Bylai possessed eyes full of reverence for Davis, causing him to feel proud yet unamused.

If only his main body was here, couldnʼt he have used this chance to eat both Dragon Queens?
