Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2120: Seclusionʼs End Point?

He took this action after entering a critical moment.

Right now, he was absorbing the sixth strand of the heavenly lightning, and there was still ninety percent of its essence left.

Whatʼs more, his surroundings were completely destroyed, scorched with heavenly lightning marks all over the surface. Cracks adorned reality, making it look like he was in a simulation that was about to break. Everything was convoluted and oppressed with so much information that threatened to destroy the space he was located in, causing the dark-blue-robed, purple-skinned Eldia to panic.

However, she still kept a hand on Davis, aiding him in refining the heavenly lightning strands as well as helping him intrinsically comprehend it more with their Prismatic Intramural Soul-Spirit Pact.

*Bzzz!~*

Heaven and earth rumbled, bringing down the resonance of Law Comprehension. But at the same time, a terrifying intent swept down and cleaved the resonation, shattering them into dispersing.

ʼLevel Six Abstruse Intent…ʼ

Eldia thought while Davis still didnʼt wake up, seemingly in deep meditation. She knew he did the same while comprehending Level Five Abstruse Intent, so she wasnʼt worried and continued to help him, filling the space around with heavenly lightning and bestowing Law Comprehension every few days once she regained enough energy.

Like this, a few days passed without space collapsing on them. It was as though the heavenly lightning and the space formed a strange balance of suppression on each other, filling this area with a tremendous aura that terrified any lifeforms passing by, not that lifeforms of that level existed in many numbers in the first place.

Even if they were hidden and minding their own business, they all ran away long ago.

After all, shattering this space meant death to them all, and they didnʼt have anything against Davis, so naturally, they chose to flee. Moreover, it was unknown if they could break the space with their measly strength, so they didnʼt even dare to try anything funny.

Without encountering a single problem, Davis progressed in Lightning Laws smoothly.

Furthermore, Eldia could feel that Davisʼs comprehension of heavenly lightning had exceeded hers. She was no longer able to help him with Bestowal of Law Comprehension but still helped him refine the insurmountable strand of heavenly lightning. Even after many days, it still refused to be easily refined.

The energy within it was extremely heightened as though limitless that Davisʼs Essence Gathering Cultivation rapidly surged, allowing him to have repeated breakthroughs. He had already entered Mid-Level Law Rune Stage and shot past the track like it wasnʼt much of a distance.

What shouldʼve taken him around five hundred Spirit Stone Vein Sources was compensated by the three concentrated strands of heavenly lightning. Moreover, the sixth strand was still crackling and unleashing immense energy without a stop.

However, Davisʼs brows furrowed heavily because he didnʼt use that vast energy to break through to the High-Level Law Rune Stage but kept it suppressed within him.

Two more weeks passed, making it a month from the time Davis entered seclusion.

He was stuck in the center of a hundred-kilometer area where space was in cracks. It stopped growing in range a week ago, but still, the dangerous aura it radiated was extremely strong, causing no lifeform to be near.

Eldiaʼs panic had left her mind long ago, appearing ready to die with him in this space and lightning ravaged land.

From being frantic to being absolutely calm, it could be said that she underwent a little change in her personality because she, who was protected all this while, once again faced danger, bringing back her old yet foremost self. It was not the resignation she had after being captured by the Silverwinds but the pride of a lightning elemental that wouldnʼt back down, possessing an unyielding determination of wanting to battle in a dire situation and, in this time, with the intent to protect someone even if it meant her own death.

*Bzzz!~*

Heaven and earth energy reverberated at this moment, but as expected, it dispersed the same way it previously did.

*Rumble!!!~*

But still, Eldia couldnʼt help but shudder at this moment as she felt an oppressive might that completely suppressed any form of resistance in her mind. Her heavenly lightning rapidly surged from her body, encasing Davis in her barrier while she closed her eyes, clenching her teeth as they clattered in fear.

In Davisʼs palm was a fading strand of heavenly lightning. When it disappeared, his eyes opened as he turned to look at the dark skies of the Dark Thunder Island, his gaze shooting past the barrier as he saw terrifying clouds forming in the skies.

”You appeared again to gift heavenly lightning to me? How charitable…”

*Rumble!~*

Davis unceremoniously stood up as he dryly smirked at the heavenly tribulation roaring at him, causing him to feel heavy. He turned around to look at the scared Eldia before his brows couldnʼt help but turn into a frown. Still, he threw a helping hand to Eldia, causing her to come out of her reverie before she saw his confident smile, subconsciously grabbing his hand as she stood up.

”Donʼt worry. Nothing will happen to me, so stay back at a distance...”

Davis patted her head before he waved his hand, causing his soul force to wrap around her as it took her away before he turned around.

However, Davisʼs frown returned because he hadnʼt seen Eldia be scared of heavenly lightning, at least, after becoming one with it.

In fact, it was her delicacy.

Even though the heavens unleashed that oppressive and overbearing might, she still saw them as something to eat, having only a little bit of fear, but now, she was shuddering ever so lightly, causing him to vaguely understand that this tribulation could be extremely strong.

However, Davis still wasnʼt sure about something.

Eldia didnʼt receive any kind of heavenly tribulation for absorbing heavenly lightning, so why was he receiving it? He quickly realized that it had something to do with the thing he just did now and couldnʼt help but grin.

ʼBut… this feeling...ʼ

Davis raised his head to look at the rumbling skies, narrowing his eyes in scrutiny.

*Rumble!~*

The heavenly tribulation clouds thundered. However, Davis suddenly noticed that crimson clouds were gathering above the dark clouds of the Dark Thunder Island. They were mixed and mingled with each other, making him unable to have noticed it before but now…

”It couldnʼt be… right?ʼ”

Davisʼs lips couldnʼt help but twitch, his lips turning into a smile that he couldnʼt hide.

Looking at the heavenly flame wisp gathering below the dark crimson clouds, he almost couldnʼt help but hide his excitement.

”Pffft! Ahahaha! Since you couldnʼt kill me with heavenly lightning, youʼre now sending heavenly flames!?”

Davis spread his hands, looking elated as he burst into laughter.

*Rumble!!!~*

The heavens roared before a blazing crimson light erupted right at the center of the heavenly tribulation clouds.

*Whisssh!~*

Davisʼs eyes projected the skies churning a crimson dot. That dot abruptly turned big like a fireball his size, allowing him to comprehend that it plunged with immense speed, but before he could even make a move, his body became engulfed in crimson heavenly flames!

”Hsss!~”

Davis sucked in a breath of cold air that instantly became searing hot, almost burning his throat. His robe instantly became scorched while his skin also lost much of its luster, turning into the color of charcoal in a sequence. But at the same time, heavenly lightning surged from his body, counteracting the heavenly flames as they kept them away from his body.

The heavenly flame wisp that fell on him was three levels higher than Peak-Level Ninth Stage, making it so that it was weaker than his Essence Gathering Cultivation prowess that allowed him to reach five levels above. Since he remained at Mid-Level Law Rune Stage, he was able to transcend five levels, at which point he was similarly at the seventh level of the Ninth Stage like this heavenly flame wisp.

Moreover, heavenly lightning still allowed him to increase his prowess to another level, which basically made this heavenly flame wisp non-threatening and near to a candle flame that he could instantly erase with a wave of his hand.

However, he didnʼt do so. He didnʼt even try to overpower it. Instead, soothing and gentle energy surged from his body and wrapped around the sizzling heavenly flames, causing the blazing wisp to become silent as it became still.

”Now, now, heavenly flames. Return to your moth- Uhm, I mean, fatherʼs embrace.”

Davisʼs expression was utterly perverted, his voice sounding dubious.
